Dexter's new teaser trailer gives us an initial idea of Debra Morgan's reaction to meeting her brother's Dark Passenger for the very first time.

"Jesus, Dexter!" she blurts. He responds in a level tone,"Deb, it's me."

"Get away from the body," Deb answers, gun trained squarely on Dexter, almost as if by muscle memory.

DEXTER returns Sunday, Sept. 30 at 9/8c on Showtime for it's seventh (and 2nd to last) season, picking up right where it left off.

TVGuide.com talked to DEXTER executive producer Sara Colleton to get the scoop on season 7:

The last we saw of Dexter (Michael C. Hall) in Season 6, he had finally delivered his own biblical form of vengeance upon Travis (Colin Hanks)... in the closing moments of the finale. Unfortunately, Dexter wasn't alone in that church, with Debra (Jennifer Carpenter) planning to profess her love to her brother before walking in on him moments before driving a knife into Travis.

Clearly, Deb's reaction will be Dexter's greatest obstacle this season as he's faced with someone finally taking off his mask. But his sister isn't the only person Dexter will have to worry about when evidence at the church suggests the Bay Harbor Butcher is back. Considering Dexter framed Sgt. Doakes (Erik King) for that, even Debra may not be able to protect him.

TVGuide: If last season was about finding faith for Dexter, what is this season about?

Colleton: It is about things he's never experienced before, which are regret, responsibility, shame, betrayal, all of those things...

TVGuide: Deb only saw Dexter kill Travis on the table, but will she learn everything this season?

Colleton: Yeah...She was on her way to the church at the end of the last season because ... she not only loved her foster brother Dexter, but she is in love with him. So now what does she do? ...Dexter was always elusive and Debra always thought it was because of her, and now she knows it wasn't about her, it was about him really protecting her.

As the head Miami Metro homicide division... it has to really affect her sense of justice...and Dexter, of course, his world is equally rocked. He's never had to deal with these kinds of emotions — regret, guilt, a sense of having let Deb down and also, obviously, the gnawing suspicion that at any time, she could have him arrested.

TVGuide: Given what Deb learns about Dexter, how will that change her sudden revelation that she has feelings for him?

Colleton:  It has to explored but obviously what she learns is going to affect it... so all of the things that have been the bedrock of Deb's life get moved around..

TVGuide: Will we see a vulnerable side to Dexter this season?

Colleton: Oh, yes. It is like Superman's cape has been taken off. He's extremely vulnerable and that is very interesting to see and to explore.

 

TVGuide: Speaking of Harry (James Remar)... how will his advice to Dexter differ from what we've seen before?

Sara Colleton: It's very upsetting to Harry. Deb realizes now, too, that this was never her being 'Daddy's second best'. She will learn all about Harry training Dexter and that is another thing that is going to rock her world...

TVGuide: What other obstacles will Dexter face because of Deb's discovery?

Sara Colleton:There are other complications that will come in because, at the crime scene, Dexter's blood slide is discovered by Lieutenant LaGuerta (Lauren Velez) because he loses it in the chaos that ensues and she immediately recognizes it's his.

The only other time that she had seen this blood slide was in the copy case of the Bay Harbor Butcher. Sergeant Doakes, her ex-lover and dear friend (everyone) thought he was the Bay Harbor Butcher, and thought that when he died, the Bay Harbor Butcher died with him.

Now, she begins to suspect, "Is the Bay Harbor Butcher still alive and how can I set about proving  ..Doake's innocence?" ... that's a silent thing at the start, but it's... going to eventually work its way back to Dexter.

 About the new castmembers:

Ray Stevenson plays Issac, the head of a crime syndicate who owns many nightclubs in Miami.. He comes to Miami when his very close personal lieutenant is accused of killing a Miami cop and then suddenly disappears...This is going to be a long story arc.

Jason Gedrick plays George, the U.S. manager of all of his clubs.

Yvonne Strahovski plays 'Hannah', (a woman) who took off from this small Florida town with an older guy and then went on this wild killing spree. When they got caught, she turned state's evidence on him, he went to jail for life. and she started a new life. Years later she's in her 30s, has started a new life and then she meets Dexter... Hannah is a still water that runs very deep... and is quite unlike any woman Dexter has ever known...Hannah has a cool aloofness, but there's something about her that will intrigue him.

Do you have scoop for Louis Greene him on Dexter?
A: The creeper who sent Dexter the hand from the Ice Truck Killer case will be back! "We realized that Louis has a whole darker side and people who become fans can turn into dangerous stalkers in the blink of the eye. That's what Louis has turned into," Colleton tells us. "[Dexter will] discover the Ice Truck Killer hand — he has no idea it's in his home — and what the writing on the palm of it means."

Make sure you click through and read all the TVGuide articles in their entirety. I culled info and mostly rewrote the excerpts except actual quotes of course, but there is a lot of material to cover at this huge, huge juncture in the Dexter-verse.

Another thing I recommend and am starting for myself beginning tomorrow night, is to re-watch Dexter, starting from Season 1 episode 1. I realized that in this 7-year period I've watched many of the episodes only one time and I've forgotten many details that based on what I'm reading now, I am going ot want to be fresh about. Plus, I'd like to go back and study the evolution of the Dex and Deb relationship more closely. Besides the serial killer aspect, the Dex and Deb dynamic has been the most compelling for me to watch. I'd come to DEXTER as a Michael C. Hall fan but I'd not seen Jennifer Carpenter's work prior to Dexter. In the last few years her portrayal of Debra has gotten really quite outstanding. Truly, Carpenter has really grown as an actor right before our eyes.  You should join me. It'll be fun!

The numbers were just not adding up! Specifically, how was it that Mrs. Steven Moyer's baby belly was growing so quickly when in April ANNA PAQUIN and STEPHEN MOYER confirmed a fall delivery date?! Doing the numbers, Paquin should have been about 3 months pregnant when announcing the long-away impending blessings(s) but when she showed up to both the White House Correspondent's Dinner on April 28, 2012 and attended the True Blood premiere event at the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood on May 30 and struck her traditional glam pose, many of us were perplexed as how the otherwise tiny Academy Award-winning actress had such an incredibly big tummy!

Now we know: TRUE BLOOD'S Sookie and Bill are having twins!

Stephen Moyer thinks having twins with Anna Paquin is going to be ''crazy.''

The 'True Blood' actor - who is married to his co-star - already has two children, Billy and Lilac, from previous relationships and the 42-year-old star anticipates that fathering duties are about to get dramatically more hectic.

He said: ''I love my kids beyond anything. They're the best things ever, and having two more is just going to be even more crazy, but that's cool!''

Moyer's 29-year-old wife has continued to record their vampire television series throughout her pregnancy.

The couple got married on August 21, 2010 and their hit series was recently renewed for a sixth season by HBO.

After an insider confirmed that Paquin 29, and husband of nearly two years Moyer, 42, are expecting twins, costar Sam Trammell -- father to 11-month-old twins Winston and Gus with girlfriend Missy Yager -- shared with Us magazine recently when (they) chatted about the double baby news. "We sent them a special gift. It's so interesting that True Blood has become, like, the 'twins' show."

 And though Moyer has two children, Lilac, 10, and Billy, 12, from a previous relationship, he's been listening intently to Trammell's advice on the ins and outs of raising multiples.

"It's harder, having twins, but it's all we know. So we're trying to impart some decent wisdom," Trammell added. "I told them to hold on tight!"

But Moyer is up for the challenge. "It's always amazing," he told Zap2it in May of his wife's pregnancy. "I love my kids so much. And I think that the fact that Anna is pregnant just adds more crazy to the bundle of fun."

Looking as lovely as ever, Anna, she of super-toned body and great fashion sense, even clad in 'slimming black' looked at least 5 months pregnant in June (remember, stars don't show the way we mortals do). Between the pregnancy announcement in April and the announcement of a multiple pregnancy yesterday, I searched through shots of Paquin and Moyer and became convinced that the baby was 'older' than reported--but why not fess up to the actual due date?

Now comes the answer to the big mystery via a TB 'source' but confirmed by Sam Trammell, who co-stars in True Blood on HBO as Sam Merlotte, Sookie's ever-loyal (and loving?) boss.

However, Paquin's expanding baby bump is causing problems for the show's writers because they are trying to conceal her pregnancy.

Creator Alan Ball explained: ''So, in the last few episodes, Sookie's holding a big purse in front of her at all times.

''I actually heard from the costume designer about midway through the season, she went, 'Sookie can't wear a Merlotte's [restaurant] T-shirt anymore.' And I went, 'Well, it's a good thing Sookie isn't really at Merlotte's anymore, she's basically trying to save the world.'

''So, we'll put her in loose-fitting, save the world outfits.''

Anna also confirmed that her pregnancy won't be reflected on screen.

She said: ''At this point, [Sookie] doesn't have a boyfriend on the show.''

I thought this little video nugget from True Blood season 1 was apropo to now--as it is sinking in for Sookie  that she has been making some ill-advised choices--like, maybe she should have listened to Sam long ago? (Funny too, how Sam has now dropped most of his Southern accent!)

Go ahead, I need a few moments to compose myself and post the biggest spoiler photos yet of WHO GETS SHOT and HOW BADLY THEY ARE HURT. It's pretty mind-blowing and I'm not being punny.

As you recall, we literally closed out last season of WEEDS with a BANG! and cut to black. Though it appeared that the gunman, who despite what Internet rumours said, was NOT easy to distinguish unless you knew what the actor looked like NOW, took aim at Nancy. We did not know if she got hit and if anyone else was injured or killed. We were literally left in the dark.

I'm going to post a few MAJOR photo spoilers now so do not continue if you do not want to know!

Episode 8.01 was top-notch. Scary, heartrending, funny and more funny and sad. I admit, I teared up.

It is now eight years that we've watched the Botwin family's triumphs and travails and in that time we've grown quite attached to them.The actors themselves seem so natural together, I'm sure I'm going to shed some more tears before this new and last ever season concludes. There will, to be sure, many laughs too. I hope you'll tune in and you'll stop back at Forever A Fangirl soon and watch along with me!

When Eric turned Pam - TRUE BLOOD Episode 5.03 'Whatever I Am, You Made Me'

 So many storylines and still no Russell!

 

Sookie must assume that Tara is brain -damaged to put on the lame-o: 'Vampire, what vampire?' act.

Tara (Rutina Wesley) went to her former fuck-buddy/boss Sam (Sam Trammell) and told him she was hungry. She chugged about 2-dozen bottles of 'Tru-Blood' and promptly passed out. Sam put  her in the Merlotte's kitchen freezer so she could sleep it off.

 

When Tara awoke she faced off with the entire Merlotte's staff plus Alcide; it was a very brief encounter as she expressed her desire to rip their throats out and they graciously stepped aside.

 

Arlene (Carrie Preston) does take direction well.

 
Note to Sookie: apparently it isn't 'like they are dead' when vamps 'go-to-ground' for the day--they too, dream--and even cry in their sleep.

 

While Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) was 'at rest' she dreamed of when Eric turned her.  It turns out (no pun) that Pam sort of guilted him into it. They bedded down and in an 'afterglow' moment she asked to be turned. He got miffed, explaining that she had no idea of the grave responsibility of being a maker. She pulled on her robe and promptly slit her own wrists telling Eric he had a choice: turn her or let her die.

 

Pam was serious...and Eric knew it

Sookie fessed up to Alcide (Joe Manganiello) that she killed his ex-wife Debbie Pelt, who had twice broken in to Sookie's house trying to kill her. Alcide seemed more hurt that she kept it a secret than that she did the deed.

 Terry (Todd Lowe) and Patrick (Scott Foley) left for their encounter with their ex-Iraq buddy who is now 'off the grid.'

We didn't have to endure Luna (Janina Gavankar)!

We did have to endure the oddly unsexy Salome (Valentina Cervi) seduce Bill (Stephen Moyer) and (presumably) Eric (Alexander Skarsgård), then Roman (Christopher Meloni). High ick factor goin' on by the time the sloppy thirds rolled 'round.

 

Eric's sister, 'Nora' (Lucy Griffiths) 'confesses'

 We saw Nora (Lucy Griffiths) tortured as her 'brother' Eric and Bill were--silver IV injection. (This torture technique has in no way grossed me out--it's too subtle. Anyway,) Nora 'confessed'  to being a "Sanguinista" to Rosalyn Harris, the middle-aged lady vampire with the faux-Texas accent (Carolyn Hennesey). She annoys me as much it seems as she does fellow Authority member, 'Kibwe' (Peter Mensah).

Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) was out buying 'togs' when in walked the yet-to-be re-introduced character, "Claude." We only saw him briefly before in the land of the Fae (Fairyland) when he saved Sookie and her granddad. He was in 'ugly' faery makeup then so I don't see a problem with switching the actors. Claude is now played by Giles Mathey. Jess picked up his pure-fairy scent whilst she was updating her wardrobe and he was picking up 16 (?) dresses. Why yes, Claude is a gay, male faery and I'm sure he's proud, but the dresses are for his 'sisters.'

Jessica chased him down to an open field which looks a lot like the one that Andy and Jason are in next week. She couldn't locate him but she was really turned on so she visited her current eff-buddy Jason (Ryan Kwanten), who unfortunately for her just had an epiphany about being molested by his high school teacher and becoming a sex addict forever after. Jason told Jess of trying to fill an emptiness within and she put away her fangs and insisted they talk as friends about his problems. I have a strong feeling that Jessica is going to really be focusing on 'friendship' this season.'

Finally, Tara broke into the local BonTemps tanning salon, climbed into a tanning bed and prepared to "curl up and fry." Pam, down in Shreveport, doin' the books at Fangtasia, sensed Tara's distress, uttered, "That stupid bitch" and...stayed tuned.

Well, this screencap from the brand new WEEDS video clip below sure does tell a story. Even though we knew from the many heavy hints dropped by Weeds and by the outright spoilers laid out by reviewers, we were not 100% sure that someone else didn't take the bullet meant for Nancy. But the drying pool of blood is exactly where she would have fallen as she raised her glass of wine to toast the family being all together and 'not killing one another.' Despite the preparation, it is still a chilling image.

 'Elderly Neighbors'

The Botwin's elderly neighbors complain about the loud noises.

And they are bitching to Shane who, I'm sumising has just tried and failed to catch his mother's assailant. (PHOTOS) As you see in the video, the old couple prattle on, completely unaware. Completely. Poor Shane.

Gosh, Uncle Andy (Justin Kirk) looks so sad. Rarely do we see him like this, completely morose.

Given that they were eating when the shooting happened, this must be some time (as in many hours) later.

Regardless, a nice man stops by Andy's table and asks may he sit, Andy says yes, and the guy engages him in conversation. Very shortly thereafter we begin to see  Andy recovering a bit of the perpetual sparkle in his eye. He's not swinging from the rafters, but clearly, a few kind words go a long way.

Dexter season 7 Sept 30 Showtime - Debra (Jennifer Carpenter) season 7: She knows.

 

Though for the past six seasons we've loyally watched 'DEXTER,' a stellar Showtime offering about a serial killer who only kills 'bad people,' we all knew that we were also tuning in to see the 'Dexter and Deb' show. The adopted children of Harry Morgan behaved as blood siblings, closer it seemed at times, despite Dexter's horrific secret with his serial killer dual life always just barely out of Deb's sight-line.

Dexter (Michael C. Hall) pondered again and again how Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) might react were she ever to discover what her big brother was doing during his many seemingly off-the face-of-the-earth disappearances and then just as suddenly, his dropping back into their lives as if he'd never stepped out.

But as the audience has known all along, Dex was duping Deb. Finally, we saw in the season 6 cliff-hangar finale, Deb has now literally caught Dexter red-handed committing a murder. Where will they go from here? Is there any 'going' anywhere from here? Debra has, over the years, expressed frustration to both Dexter and her therapist that as much as she loves and leans on Dexter, she's not sure that he feels the same towards her, that perhaps (to paraphrase) he's keeping part of himself closed off, inaccessible to her which really pains her. Now they are at the rip-the-lid-off-the-box-of-secrets-Dexter's-harbouring-moment. All of it is hers to know. Will she, though, want to face this horrible reality? Dexter's up for it--up for anything, one would think, to bring Deb back down to the new reality. But what will all this entail--how will it even be possible with both of them headed into the lion's den (Miami Metro) each day bearing this huge reveal? Showtime has unveiled a great new spot for the upcoming seventh season of Dexter, centering on theme of truth and acceptance in the wake of last season’s dramatic cliffhanger. The new spot features images of Dexter and Debra reflecting the different shades that comprise their relationship and Dexter’s acceptance of who he is.

Dex: “They say truth brings light. It’s the lies that live in darkness. But here we are, in the moment of truth.

He continues: “Everything in my life has brought me to this point. It’s what I am. It’s all I am. I can accept that. ..But can she?

Jojen and Meera Reed, 'Teenage Crannogmen':

The Reed siblings are introduced in George Martin's 'A Song Of Ice and Fire' book series in the second book, A Clash of Kings.

 

The Reed's father is a bannerman to the Starks and his children go to Winterfell to renew their pledge. The Reeds are there for almost everything that happens to Bran in season 2 including when Theon took over Winterfell. Meera Reed protects the children while Jojen Reed helps Bran with his visions. How they’re going to be introduced in season 3 is still a mystery, but these two characters are pivotal in Bran’s story and give some much needed spice and sense of adventure as well.

 

Important character traits to know about:  Crannogmen

The Crannogmen are so called for their habit of living in small villages formed of reeds and thatch that sit atop floating islands in the mire ('crannogs'). They are a poor people and seldom leave their lands subsisting on fishing and frogging.

They are talented hunters and warriors and despite their short stature and somewhat primitive lifestyle, the crannogmen have proven a notoriously difficult people to conquer.

They use nets, bronze knives, frog spears, and round leather shields. They fight with poison, guerrilla tactics, and a mastery of their difficult terrain.

According to those who have fought them, their houses, even their castles move. They are disparaged as "frog-eaters, swamp-dwellers, mud-men and bog devils" by most other people of the Seven Kingdoms and are looked down upon for their tactics, which are viewed as cowardly.

The histories say that the crannogmen grew close to the children of the forest in the days when the greenseers tried to bring the hammer of waters down upon the Neck.

Since that time, they have sworn their oaths of fealty to the Starks thousands of years ago.

They are ruled by House Reed from Greywater Watch. Other families of crannogmen are House Fenn, Peat, Boggs, Cray, Quagg, Greengood and Blackmyre.

They have an ages-old feud with House Frey, who rule the lands immediately to the south.'

Sandor Clegane (a.k.a. The Hound) played by Rory McCann: Where will we meet him next? And, through which completely unexpected ASoIaF character will we meet him?

The last the Kingsguard saw of The Hound, he said this:

[the Hound's fear of fire is renewed watching people burn to death, and refuses to keep fighting] Sandor Clegane: I lost half of my men. The Blackwater is on fire. Joffrey Baratheon: Dog, I command you to go back up there and fight! [the Hound shakes his head] Tyrion Lannister: You're in the Kingsguard, Clegane. During the Battle of the Blackwater, Clegane fled King’s Landing and offered to take Sansa with him. Although she denied him, his story is definitely not over. He doesn’t get POV chapters though, so he reappears in another character’s storyline and is actually a welcome and frightening addition. The interactions between this POV character and Clegane are “different” and are definitely worth the wait.

The Return of Barristan Selmy:

I do remember this scene and I'm familiar with the character but I cannot picture the actor (Ian McElhinney) who portrayed Barristan Selmy on Game of Thrones.

In case viewers have forgotten, Barristan Selmy was the Lord Commander of the Kingsguards until Joffrey humiliatingly dismissed him. He vowed to find the rightful king to serve and stormed off without ever being seen again…until now. Without giving away too much, he certainly thought long and hard about who he was going to look for because his return is quite the surprise, even to the readers. He actually returned much sooner, but was not revealed until book three through the eyes of a POV character who readers thought would never meet him. Hopefully the show gives him the justice he deserves.

As you probably know, two of the creators/showrunners of Nurse Jackie are turning over the reins after five years, to Clyde Phillips. This last video for season 4 is then, their last thoughts shared on Showtime about their series while still working as it's showrunners.

I always enjoy hearing about the story I'm invested in from the storytellers and showrunners as they rarely fail to bring a fresh, unique perspective when speaking of their story-telling process.

It will be exciting to see what season 5 has in store for Jackie and her family, both in and out of All Saint's. It'll be a period of sobriety but her story doesn't disappear--she'll always be a woman in recovery, a nurse at that, because no matter what Cruz said, Jackie is a nurse whether or not someone actually employs her or not. It's in her DNA. I have a feeling, next time we see her, she'll be back in the profession. And, most probably sober. Now her real life is beginning, blemishes and all. She looks relieved!

I'd love to seek O'Hara seek mommy lessons from Jackie while Jackie continues to hash out things with Kevin regarding the  girls, post-divorce. O'Hara's high-powered attorney should be able to at least get the sober, strong Jackie shared custody, which will help keep keep Jackie sane/sober.

I would like neither of them to be dating next year. Just sorting through both of their new lives and all the great hospital scenes at their day jobs would make for a terrific season. But, there's liable to be DRAMA anyway. This is Nurse Jackie, after all.

 I hope to see Akalitus (Anna Deavere Smith) too, next season despite like Jackie and Eddie (Paul Schulze), having been fired by Mike Cruz (Bobby Cannavale) from All Saint's. I'm not sure how they'll bring "Eddie" back for a second time. I don't know enough about 'Pill-o-Matix' to know how viable All Saint's again using them instead of Eddie to dispense medication, was. Are most NYC hospitals doing so, IRL?

Here is the DARK KNIGHT RISES  crystal-clear trailer from the upcoming third and final installment of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy that you've been waiting for! Appropriately released just 30 days before"THE DARK KNIGHT RISES" premieres in theaters on July 20, this is the  best looking--and clear-sounding trailer thus far--and there have been a slew of them.

To give the most obvious example, the Bane character's (Tom Hardy) face gear made it near-impossible to understand what he was saying when the villain spoke a key-to-the-trailer sentence. The answer to the question, "Who are you?,' uttered by who appears to be Commissioner Gordon (Gary Oldman) before Bane crushes his throat has, in previous cuts, been answered with 'I am....something something something.' Then 'cleaned up' it was 'I am Gotham's....something something,' which still didn't give us much for Bane's character's motivation.

Here now for the first time is a trailer in which Bane clearly enunciates his answer to the question: 'I am Gotham's reckoning.' Good job, sound people-- there are always a few audience members for whom the dialogue is important. Of course, now we must know 'why' Bane is picking on Gotham...to which we will happily flock to the theatres this July to find out.

Kidding aside, this looks like a glorious movie. Christian Bale for me, has been the very definition who the Batman of film would be. Every other Batman pales before him. Same goes for every other Commissioner Gordon prior to  Gary Oldman's audience POV/heart-of-the-Dark-Knight-films' character. Finally, thank the gods that they made this film while they still could recruit the only Alfred I can now envison, brought to life by the imitable Sir Michael Caine.

TRUE BLOOD SEASON 5 - CHRIS MELONI AS VAMPIRE AUTHORITY HEAD, 'ROMAN'

After plowing through the four new TRUE BLOOD videos released today and reading the Kristen spoilers (below) I'll add just a couple more thoughts (the others are in my previous TRUE BLOOD post).

I can now see why they are splitting the Pam origin story into two episodes . It gets rather...complicated.

I am really curious to know if it is an Authority member that Chris Meloni's 'Roman' goes all stake-y on (see above).

Fangirl's mini-rant:

Is it me or is TRUE BLOOD dumbing things down this year? Jason's (Ryan Kwanten) sex addiction has been crystal clear to us practically since we met him five seasons ago. Even so, in just the first two season 5 episodes, we've had him ponder at length (at least in Jason-speak) about changing his ways after declining to take a girl home from Jessica's party and had him taunted by a table of guys including ex-BFF Hoyt as a 'girlfriend-fucker.' Then we got the pointless scene at the Bon Temps police station where a teenager comes in and punches him, declaring Jason has 'ruined' the kid's life by bedding his skanky mother. And, just for good measure, Jason congratulates Andy on his one-nighter with waitress Holly (for 'getting a piece of pie without buying the cow') even though Andy is concerned that he did something wrong to turn her off. Now, via the Kristen spoiler we find that in episode #51 we are going to find out why Jason is a sex addict, despite the perfectly good explanation offered that his bit of faery blood makes him irresistible to the ladies. Do the writers of True Blood actually watch the show? No explanation necessary! (Please, please, please make it short and...short.)

No Biting the Merchandise: As you will soon learn Lorena (Mariana Klaveno), Bill, Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) and Pam have a very long, sordid and interesting history. Bill and Lorena were out sowing their wild oats when he and Eric clashed before. This fun flashback also explains why Pam isn't the biggest Bill Compton fan.

Sex Ed Teacher: We find out that Jason's (Ryan Kwanten) former teacher (Melinda Page Hamilton) is the woman who sent Jason down a sordid sexual path. The gist of this big reveal is that Jason has so much baggage he'd need a whole cargo truck to go on vacation.

What I'm most intrigued by in the promo for TRUE BLOOD episode 5.03:

Pam's origin story = More Pam & Eric (and SPOILER!!! apparently Bill and Lorena!)

A new faery in town. It seems Sookie's faery godmother's twin has shown up in Bon Temps and Jessica is really happy to meet him and we are again treated to the line, previously used on Sookie, 'What are you?.' In episode 5.01, Jessica recycled Bill's line from season 1 --'She is mine!' when Sookie was about to be fanged (unwillingly); this time was when Steve Newlin was about to do the same to Sookie's bro, Jason. Recycle, reuse, I suppose.

Are Sam & Arlene reacting to vampire Tara in the brief shot we see of them in Sam's office? The look on Arlene's face says they are. How big of a body count is Tara going to wrack up before she can be subdued (again)?

Why is Pam being so super-extra bitchy at Sookie besides the fact that Sookie is whining about Tara again? (This is gonna get old fast--the Tara being like a wild animal phase of her new vampiric state. Even teenage Jessica didn't go off the deep end like this and her turning was pretty horrific.)

What I don't care about:

Alcide and his wolfie issues.

Anything Luna. She can leave. Now. Another chick not good enough for Sam.

Terry and Patrick and the origin of Terry's PTSD. Terry is a minor character. We have plenty of his story, we don't need to examine it closely. Enjoy the 'caps!

True-Blood.net has confirmed with HBO that Robert Patrick will guest star on True Blood season 5 as Jackson Herveaux, Alcide’s father. We’ll meet him in episode 5.09, “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”, when we flashback to when Alcide and Debbie Pelt were teenagers in the 1980s. Back then, Jackson was “powerful, inspiring, and heroic”, but in present day he’s pretty much given up on life. He’ll be a recurring guest star. NURSE JACKIE EPISODE 4.10 (SEASON FINALE)

This is it, people--the season finale of what has been IMO, the best season of NURSE JACKIE, ever. Thank goodness it has been confirmed that we can look forward to season 5! This season was a MAJOR departure for Jackie in that she finally hit rock bottom and chose to do something about it. Her struggle seemed more authentic than it ever has. Jackie was up against huge odds, the most pressing being she had to work around her drugs of choice every time she went to work. Factor in husband Kevin not only serving her with divorce papers but asking for custody of her beloved girls and having a new, uber-demanding, inflexible boss, Jackie really was getting it on all fronts. At times, her sobriety seemed very tenuous but through episode 9 she made it. Will she, perhaps faced with the biggest challenge thus far, be able to retain her sobriety? You know what you'll have to do to find out. Watch! (Sunday at 9 p.m. on Showtime). I loved the season finale and am totally jazzed, anticipating season 5. NEW WEEDS SEASON 8 TEASE (VIDEO):

Have you marked your calendars yet for July 1st? No? Well, go and do it now. I'll wait.

Why is July 1st at 10 p.m. et/pt important to note? Because besides being Canada Day, July 1st marks the premiere of season 8 of WEEDS! And Speaking of WEEDS, this is the final season, too!

I'll give you a moment to compose yourself because I know just how you feel. We've been keeping up with the Botwin family for 7 years now.  As well as a lot of green, we've literally watched Shane (Alexander Gould) and Silas (Hunter Parrish) grow and bloom. We've shared Uncle Andy (Justin Kirk) and Doug's (Kevin Nealon) growing pains as well and even saw our beloved Nancy (Mary-Louise Parker) take the rap for Shane's <ahem> little indiscretion which cost her three years in the slammer. And now it all comes to a close and we bid them a fond farewell.

But hang on a minute! We've yet to learn Nancy's fate! The season 7 finale almost felt like a series finale with a sniper appearing to take aim at Nancy and a gunshot heard before cutting to black.

I wouldn't worry too much whether Nancy survives, though. She's been in seemingly impossible situations before and somehow she pulls out of them. I am kinda curious tho' if her personality will be affected...but that is all the more reason to watch...and to find out who would want to off our lovely Ms. Botwin. (Nancy has pissed off quite a few people over the years...not really intentionally but P.O.'d they remain.)

It's easy to forget that WEEDS, when it debuted, was considered very daring in it's subject matter, edgy is a good way to put it-- but it was (and still is) unapologetic and never seemed to concern itself about being PC or worrying that it might offend and get itself cancelled. 'Ballsy' is another word I'd chose to describe what has become one of my favourite comedies ever.

Cool photograph, no? Do you think maybe Dexter is speaking the episode title: 'Are you... going to shoot me?' or...'Are you...going to ask me what I'm doing/why I'm doing it?' 'Are you...OK?' 'Are you...going to arrest me?' 'Are you...going to listen to my explanation?' So many possibilities! Could it be Deb saying 'Are you...going to tell me what happened?' 'Are you...crazy? ' Are you...@#&!$ in the head? Good episode 1 title for this red-letter day, which began in the DEXTER season 6 finale when Deb finally catches her brother in the act. Too bad it gives nothing away!

Speaking of giving nothing away, so far I've got nothing on episode one details. Think that might be how the Dexter peeps wish to keep it until the very last minute? (Rhetorical. Of course they do!)

If you scroll down however, you can read up on episodes 7.02, 7.03 and 7.04 and you will absolutely see the big picture beginning to form about Dexter and Deb's world beyond this earth-shattering revelation. Picking up immediately where the finale left off, Season 7 will open with Debra's horrified reaction to seeing her brother kill last season's baddie, Travis. "Viewers might think we shy away from that moment of Debra walking in and seeing Dexter stabbing into Travis' chest, but it's just the opposite," says executive producer Scott Buck. "She now has to deal with what she's seen and what she knows. And it forces him to defend and define himself."

That's complicated given Deb's romantic feelings for her brother.

"It's ironic that people are fine with Dexter jabbing people in the heart but mortified by this romance," says Buck. "We're not shying away from those feelings of hers, either."

Bonus: Instead of one Big Bad, this season will have several — and a Ukrainian strip club owner named Sirko (Ray Stevenson) looks especially psycho.

WOW! Reading the HOMELAND  Season 2 casting calls sure does whet one's appetite for more info about the upcoming season of HOMELAND, which returns on Showtime on September 30!

For instance, have no fear about Carrie (the amazing Claire Danes)! She is back in the game, though it's not quite clear yet exactly what game (Oh, who am I kidding--she's gathering intel and hunting bad guys!) We do know that she is now an ESL teacher with a new cover identity on a sensitive mission in Beirut!

We know too, that by episode 2.04 Carrie comes face-to-face with Brody (Damian Lewis). That should be very interesting. Both those two have great poker faces--will we be able to tell if Carrie remembers him--and if so, how much does she remember?! For his part, Brody now has his own Chief of Staff and in the same episode, for an unknown reason needs to have a 'strong smoke smell removed' from his car. Intriguing!

 

Valerie Cruz will play Major Joy Mendez on HOMELAND on Showtime starting Sept 30.

OMG. It's too hard to pick a favourite scene from the entire series! How about one from each season? Wait. Nope. That's too hard too!

Season 1, episode 12 in the cemetery after Sookie survives Rene's attempt on her life but not before Bill has gone out into the full sunlight in an attempt to save her. Ultimately, a combination of Sam and Sookie take out Rene. Bill is burned to a crisp; Sam realizes that they must get him underground so he gingerly picks him up and deposits him in a freshly-dug grave. As Sookie weeps, Sam buries Bill. Now, Sam literally hates Bill for being a vampire but for Sookie's sake, he does his best to save Bill. At that moment, I really saw the depth of love that Sam has for Sookie. It sounds odd but the gesture was incredibly sweet and meaningful.

Q: I still can't believe Tara is a vampire! Any scoop on what's coming up for her on TRUE BLOOD?
A: Sookie and Lafayette will certainly have their hands full this week, but lest we forget, Pam is her maker, albeit begrudgingly. Still, there may be opportunities for Tara to find allies in the vampire world. They may have been sparring in Sunday's promo, but Jessica and Tara could find a friendship. "Jessica is very lonely," Deborah Ann Woll tells us. "She's looking everywhere she can for someone to understand her and maybe there's an opportunity there with Tara."

Q: I absolutely loved the True Blood premiere! Any scoop on what's coming up in Bon Temps?
A: Jason Stackhouse fans, prepare yourselves for some pretty bad news courtesy of True Blood stud Ryan Kwanten. "Jason's going to be lucky to survive. In fact, he may not survive this season," he teases. "It's been a rather brutal season for Jason." True Blood without Jason? We shudder at the thought!

 

Just a thought. Despite the True Blood teevee show veering away from the Sookie Stackhouse novels, perhaps if Jason dies, Kwanten will remain--as a twin faerie verson of himself. He _does_ exist in the books--and he looks exactly like Jason Stackhouse and we already know there will be faeries in True Blood season 5.

In the next episode #50, 'Authority Always Wins,' we will meet all the members of the Catholic Church-emulating Vampire Authority (their leader's name is even 'Roman' --subtle, huh?). As I mentoned earlier, while not appearing initially to be the most bloodthirsty bunch, their methods of extracting information should be quite persuasive (silver injection in the vein, anyone?).

Says E!: 'Think you are most looking forward to seeing Chris Meloni as a vampire? Well, actually our favorite Authority member is played by Christopher Heyerdahl. You might recognize him as The Swede from AMC's Hell on Wheels. He scares us in all the best ways.

RUTINA WESLEY as TARA and ANNA Paquin as Sookie in Episode 5.02 - True Blood "Authority Always Wins"

In TRUE BLOOD episode 2, it looks like Tara who has been made vampire at Lafayette's request,  woke up very hungry and has set her sights on Sookie for her first post-turning meal. Assuming that since both Lafayette and Pam are on the scene that Sookie will not in fact get her throat ripped out by her life-long best friend. But will Tara every be anything like the tara of old again? It took Bill about 150 years to finally start acting civilized; I can't imagine Tara getting her act together so fast.

So< what did you think of the TRUE BLOOD season 5 debut?

It's LATE so I'm for now gonna break it down to what I liked and disliked:

LIKED: I was surprised that I enjoyed the Jason and Steve Newlin scenes. I think I may like  the vampire version of Steve Newlin. He seems much more fun. Sample:

"I think that that's why I started acting the way that I did—all murderous and whatnot."

"I finally have the strength to say, I'm a gay vampire American."

LIKED: Anything Pam. Sample:

"I am wearing a Walmart sweat suit for you all. If that's not demonstration of team spirit, I don't know what is."

LIKED: Jessica and Steve Newlin: They have more scenes in episode 2 which look to be really fun.

MEH: Nora and Eric banging away in the storage container. It was obvious that they lusted after one another but in this life and death situation? Really?

And yeah we get it, Eric is so. over. Sookie.

MEH:  Sam and Luna: They  just don't do it for me.

             Andy and Holly in bed and the introduction of her teenage misfits.

             Terry and Patrick and the PTSD story rearing it's ugly head. NO.

              Alcide and his pack. NO. In the words of Lafayette (to Alcide):

"We're done with all the supernatural bulls--t. You heard me? No vampires, no witches, no ghosts, no maenads. And no motherf--cking werewolves."

Really, Alan Ball, I am so over almost all of the 'supernatural bullshit.' Tara turned vampire is fine. Bill and Eric's most excellent adventure is too. Sookie and Lafayette doin' what they do--groovy--and I'm pretty certain that bringing Russell Edgington back will be worth it. The Jason-Steve Newlin-Jessica triangle looks yummy. And sure yeah, give us some Vampire Authority. But that's enough!

The wolf pack story never worked and still wont. It's only a shade better than the 'Hot Shot' story that blessedly got dropped like a hot potato at the beginning of season 4.

Sam and Luna just don't have chemistry. And the CG on the wolves is so poor. Let's just stop.

And please, just NO to the Terry and why he has PTSD story.

Last week's episode of NURSE JACKIE was a shocker: Cruz (Bobby Cannavale) fired both Eddie the pharmacist (Paul Schulze) and former head administrator Gloria Akalitis (Anna Deavere Smith) due to their complicity in both enabling and covering up Jackie's addiction. Despite the firings being not at all the popular thing to do (Zoey points out to Cruz that Eddie and Gloria are 'good people'--and he agrees!), it was the correct thing to do both in terms of legality and on a more human level. No argument that Jackie herself was responsible for her addiction but Eddie in particular, greatly enabled it (for years!) in his capacity as a pharmacist. Gloria looked the other way a number of times before out-and-out destroying evidence of Jackie's drug use--again allowing Jackie more time to 'get away' with being high at work. Neither did someone who they profess to care about a 'favour'.

This week the down feathers hit the fan. The emergency department is overcrowded due to another hospital's overflow being diverted to All Saint's, O'hara is in no shape to take on the extra stress and Cruz is as volatile as ever. Guess who rises to the occasion in her trademark style? You'll just have to watch.

Just a reminder: episode 9 is the second to last episode of season 4(!) That means next Sunday, June 17, is the NURSE JACKIE season finale. I waited until yesterday to watch it and then I watched it again today. Yes, it is that good. Without question, this is the best season-ender Nurse Jackie ever!

In case (like me!) you missed it, FANTASTIC NEWS! Nurse Jackie has been renewed for season 5!!

Today (June 1), Nurse Jackie has officially been given the go-ahead to produce a fifth season. The news comes on the heels of a new showrunner being added into the mix. According to Deadline, Clyde Phillips has joined the Nurse Jackie family as a the brand new creative headman. Although Phillips has some pretty big shoes to fill, he should be up to the task, having formerly served as showrunner on another Showtime hit drama, Dexter.

Season 5 Nurse Jackie's production is set to begin later in 2012. Season 4 has shown us a Jackie that has gone through rehab and is working hard to continue to stay sober, despite massive upheaval in both her personal and professional life.

The series has been averaging nearly 2.5 million viewers a week on the premium cable SHOWTIME during Season 4. The renewal comes just a few weeks before the Season 4 finale airs on June 17.

One theory is that vampires Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) would somehow help shared love interest Sookie (Anna Paquin) (even though she dumped them both).

"I can tell you that Bill and Eric can't come running to the rescue," Wesley told TVGuide.com.

"They just killed a member of the Authority, so they're going to have a big mess to clean up themselves, so Sookie's going to have to figure this out on her own. But, you know, she's strong and resourceful and doesn't need a man to figure out her problems."

However Tara returns — whether that be as a ghost, a vampire or back to her human self, revived by vampire blood — Wesley says the once sisterly relationship between Sookie and Tara will be significantly different after that night.

"That's going to be the interesting part to watch: Tara's reaction to Sookie and Sookie's reaction to Tara," she says. "All I can say is it's charged."

Lafayette (NELSAN ELLIS) has lost his lover Jesus, but he can still see him so that will  make things a little weird. We haven’t seen the last of Kevin Alejandro (Jesus). It will get very creepy very soon as evidenced by this shot that keeps popping up.

 Since Bill is dealing with the impending vampire civil war, Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) will have the run of Bon Temps. "She's starting to grow up, she's not really a baby vamp anymore," Ball says. "She's going to do what any teenager would do when her parents are out of town... party!" It won't be all fun and games this season, though. Jessica will have to navigate her new relationship with Jason (Ryan Kwanten) — with ex-boyfriend Hoyt (Jim Parrack) watching from the sidelines. "They're extremely attracted to one another, and there's a natural chemistry there, but it was born out of this guilty thing that they did," Woll says. "That's rough and they're going to have to overcome that somehow."

So, it would seem, that Lafayette puts down the stake.

It's an open secret that Rutina Wesley remains a cast-member on True Blood despite her grievous head would at the hands of the now-deceased Debbie Pelt in the season 4 finale.

The lingering question is how is that possible? That will be answered in the season premiere.

"We will see a lighter side to her," Wesley promises. "I hope we do get back to that Season 1 Tara where she has that flippant sense of humor that we all love. I just think she's guarded and I know sometimes it comes off as being angry at everyone in the world, but it's all earned."

 

 Get ready for a Pam-tasm! We've seen how Godric made Eric how Bill became a vampire via Lorena, but this season, it's Pam's (Kristin Bauer van Straten) turn.

"We're going to see how Pam and Eric found each other and we learn how Pam became a vampire," Ball says. But Pam isn't the only focus of this year's flashbacks. We "even get a glimpse into some of Sookie and Jason's past," he adds.

Marnie (Fiona Shaw) may have been vanquished but much magic remains in Bon Temps. According to Lauren Bowles (who plays Merlotte's waitress/Wiccan Holly Cleary), "Those powers are definitely going to be utilized because it's kind of a free-for-all this year. The power of the goddess can be used in many ways and will be relied on."

 How about faerie tales?

Sookie's faerie family will be back in full force this season, but they're 'different' from what we saw before, according to Giles Matthey, who plays Claude, the brother to Sookie's now dead faerie godmother, Claudine (Lara Pulver).

"The role that my character plays is a mentor figure and he cares about Sookie," he says. Still, there are some who aren't pleased that Claudine was drained by a vampire.

Q: Tell me about my favorite pair on True Blood: Eric and Pam!

A: Well, if you paid attention to yesterday's scoop-filled post, you know that according to Alexander Skarsgård, Eric still has plenty of love for Pam. And Kristin Bauer van Straten promises that Pam is on a mission to get back in Eric's good graces. "Pam will go to any length to be reunited with her maker. Any length," she tells us forebodingly. "And we're going to see it. Pam has an amazing arc because we get to see her backstory and how she was made. It explains why Pam is the way she is and also why Eric is her one person that she can't live without." We've seen the first four episodes of True Blood's fifth season, and trust us when we say that Pam will more than likely be your favorite T.B. character this year.

Q: Any scoop on any possible Alcide/Sookie romance?

It's definitely possible. Assuming of course that Alcide could get over that whole "you killed my ex-wife" thing. Alcide's confession last season to Sookie and his desire to protect her is very much present in the season premiere, but like all things in Bon Temps, romance is on the back burner until the bodies are buried. Oh what? Yep, multiple bodies need to be disposed of. Don't worry, there is a terribly sexy growl from Alcide in there too.

Above, you see the scene where Sookie (ANNA PAQUIN), having traveled by Anubis Air (vampire-serving airline) disembarking in the airline hangar as Jessica (DEBORAH ANN WOLL) and Bill (STEVEN MOYER) 'rest'. The flight was delayed, so it is now nighttime. Disembarking, alone in the private hangar, Sookie's chauffeur seems odd, asking strange questions, then he attempts to abduct her...and the fun begins.

A number of reviews are saying that last night's True Blood, Episode #16 (E2.04) was the best episode of the season so far.

Don't get me wrong, 'Shake & Fingerpop' was great but I have to wonder if going two weeks without a fresh episode helped sway them? In the case of a few who had been given episodes 1-4 to review, so they knew what was coming, I think probably yes. in their case too, I think having to keep mum about it for the extra week made them extrasuperexcited about it when it did finally officially air.

My opinion? I thought it was as good as Episode 1 this season. You cannot beat starting season 2 TRUE BLOOD finding out that no, it was not Lafayette dead in the back of Andy Bellefluer's old beater in Merlotte's parking lot only to find Miss Jeanette --minus her heart in full rigor mortis.  Literally a stiff.

Then to discover that in Eric of all people living or undead, had Lafayette chained up in his basement. Also in that episode, we saw a terrified Lafayette bear witness to an extremely irritated Eric who happened to be getting his hair bleached by Pam, and so had foils in it as he disemboweled Laffy's fellow prisoner. All that and more in the premiere of season True Blood season 2.

Was last night better? No--but it was just as good.

EW.com has a list of new characters coming to HBO’s Game of Thrones in season three.

 

Fans have been wondering which names from George R.R. Martin’s third Song of Ice and Fire novel, A Storm of Swords, will be introduced next year, especially since the lengthy book is being divided into two seasons.

GAME OF THRONES showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss spoke about some of the creative changes this year and next season’s plans:

“[Jojen and Meera Reed] haven’t been written out,” Benioff says.

“It’s important to point out that that we have the largest cast on television right now. We introduced dozens of new characters in season two. If you hurl 300 characters at an audience, the story collapses under the weight of too many faces, too many names, and too many subplots. We need to be just as mindful of the audience members who have never read the books as we are of the readers; the series will fail if we only appeal to those who already know the characters. So we try to be parsimonious about how many new roles we introduce to the story and when we introduce them.”

I’ve actually already screened the first four episodes of True Blood‘s new season and, based on what I’m seeing so far, I feel very comfortable declaring Season 5 the year of the Pam. Between the origin stuff with Eric and her present-day storyline with [SPOILER], Kristin Bauer van Straten’s vamp is practically in every other scene — and the show is the better for it. I’m starting the 2013 Emmy campaign for KBvS now. The woman is a national treasure! Question: Anything else you can share on Tina Majorino’s True Blood arc? Love her. Ausiello: Her first scene is with Eric and Bill. A shirtless Eric and a shirtless Bill.

Question: Can’t wait for True Blood this Sunday! Is it safe to say Russell is back to exact revenge on Bill and Eric?

I'm not kidding about the episode 5.01TRUE BLOOD SPOILERS that came out of the red carpet premiere! The TRUE BLOOD cast was present and participating and there are brand new images which answer a few burning questions we've had about certain character's fates. Like, what happens to Jason, who at the end of season 4 answered his door thinking Jessica had returned only to find vampire Steve Newlin!

There also seems to be definitive evidence about who saves Tara. It's already been established that Tara--in some form--is saved. It really, really looks like Pam drew the short stick and was tasked with turning her (see blow/watch the video).

We have 2 new shots from scenes featuring Steve Newlin and Jessica so it looks like these two may be tangoing a bit. I would love to see Jess use some of the fighting skills Bill taught her to kick Newlin's butt --then stake him.

There's more exposition from Chris Meloni's 'Roman' (head Vampire Authority figure) to the captured Eric and Bill as well as a much clearer shot of a recuperating Russell Edgington (who, who, who, is helping him!?)

Without any prompting, she's done more than kill a guard to protect and shelter the boys, she's been very compassionate towards them. In these three clips from the season premiere, airing June 10, Alcide (Joe Manganiello) makes Sookie an offer after she learns that Russell Edgington (Denis O'Hare) is back from the "dead": The studly werewolf  invites her to live with him!

Unfortuneately, Sookie's been keeping something pretty important from Alcide-- that she killed his ex, Debbie Pelt (albeit in self-defense. Pretty much.)

Scott Foley's character Patrick, was Terry's (Todd Lowe) platoon leader when they served in Iraq together. That's all we know about him, so far.

He seems a bit strange and his reation in the clip to the news that Terry & Arlene's home burned down is not let's say, a typical response of the average person.

Lastly, it seems like season five will be the season of the bromance, which Alexander Skarsgård (Eric) has decribed as similar to "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,' between Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Eric!  Finally!

TVGuide: We literally can't answer this question, lest Alan Ball has us all staked. But we can tell you that the title of the season premiere is "Turn! Turn! Turn!" which is a song of Biblical extraction about profound change, like, say, dying, becoming a vampire or declaring your true sexuality. All three of these things will happen during this hour, but the question is: To whom? (Answer: Not all to the same person.)

Game Of Thrones Season 2: Recap #19

'Cersei's Protection' PHOTO (above) looks very pretty but highly impractical in that a vast swath of her upper body (chest, shoulders, neck) is utterly unprotected. During the episode, I was curious why she appeared to be in a cool-looking metal bustier!

 

The penultimate episode of GAME OF THRONES - Episode 2.09 - 'Blackwater,' did not disappoint. In case you've not yet seen the plethora of HBO 'episode extras,' I've put them all together here. Enjoy!

       

The Hound: One-way Ticket (VIDEO)

The Hound of HBO's Game Of Thrones has been toned down from the ASoIaF series and IMO, is much more sympathetic than his book counterpart, who for example, held a knife to Sansa's throat and demanded she sing him a song before he made his departure/escape from King's Landing. I do think this works very well, televised. Here, Rory McCann, who plays Sandor Clegane ('The Hound'), gives his POV about the Hound's situaton in 'Blackwater.'

[BIG MIKE] 30s to 40s. He's a big hick-ish guy, maybe with a ponytail, wearing a Bruce Springsteen T-shirt, who's good at the "I'm-over-it" deadpan. When we first see him he's spitting tabacco juice into a vitamin water bottle. Co-star.
