There was news of Marcy's (baby) child being cast in Californication, the bigger news is that it's between 2 and 4 years old, needs to look like a young Charlie Runkle as well as a little feminine.
My guess would be the age suggests that Hank is going to prison for a couple of years, which would explain away a time jump.

My guess is...I disagree with his guess. The only incarceration scenario I think they would do --if they did --which I don't think they are going to do.... would be unless we see none of Hank's incarceration time and he's getting out of prison as season 5 commences. It would be too evocative of the first episode of this season, IMO, when Hank got sprung from County Jail in episode 4.01.

The idea of a Californicaton time jump of 2 or 3 years is interesting. We'll just wait and see how it plays out. Filming for season 5 of Californication still must be a ways off.

They really do not need to time jump--so far that I can tell-- other than for the hell of it--do they?
