Too bad the photographer appears to be on 'Team Bill', almost cutting Skarsgård out of the shot entirely:
Very lucky lady clad in True Blood 'character charms' in close proximity to 'Bill' (Stephen Moyer), who is touching 'Sookie' while 'Eric' (Alexander Skarsgård) looks on on the set of True Blood.
As the bookies will tell you, Eric's appearance is in line with his Book 4 storyline. I believe that his shirt is not 'flannel' but simply plaid. Skarsgård regresses in age about 10 years when he doesn't slick back his hair as shown here. I prefer the non-greaser look.
On the plus side, 'Bill' is clad in leather however, sadly, he is still being forced to wear bangs. Steve Moyer is so much more handsome as not-Bill.
NEW True Blood Casting Calls Continue:
New casting calls are out alongside the reveal that episode 4.08 will be called 'Spellbound'--and it will be written by Alan Ball who seems to be writing about two episodes per season. Other info. that can be culled from the casting call?
One of our vamps (who else is that old?) is flashing back to the 1930's--wouldn't it be fun if it were Pam (Kristen Bauer van Straten)?!

Father Frank: John Wells Executive Producer John Wells discusses the season one finale of Shameless.
One of the crucial aspects of a TV show isn't just how you react to it while you are watching, but what you think of each episode upon its conclusion. I found Showtime's new series, Shameless, which just finished a 12-episode first season, very conducive to some lively discussion afterward. My spouse and I watched the show at home in real (Chicago) time, taking our dogs for their nightly walk as soon as it was over. Our neighbourhood, though only 25 or 30 miles from the Gallagher's, may as well be 3000 miles away. Even so, this fictional family, first introduced on British television (with a British cast) has issues that most any family can relate to on some level. Nothing about the Gallagher's seems truly foreign, as loyalty and love of family are something (hopefully) everyone knows and understands. And so love of family and sacrifice for them amidst rather dire circumstances, despite all the far-out situations in Shameless, is the show's core theme, some aspect of which my spouse and I came 'round to discussing frequently.
Another commonality that non-TV families have with the Gallaghers is what we like to call 'dysfunction.' Essentially, a 'dysfunctional family' is one whose behaviour deviates from normal families--whatever they are.
Some folks say there is no such thing as a 'normal family' and the older I get, the more I think the saying, 'We are all dysfunctional in our own way,' is on the money. It's really about how we cope with the dysfunction, don't you think?
Episode 12 of Shameless, 'Father Frank, Full of Grace' was about coping with the fallout of some highly dysfunctional circumstances that impacted every family member as well as those involved with the Gallaghers (rock-steady neighbours 'Vi' (Shanola Hampton) and 'Kev' (Steve Howey) excepted--they literally played supporting roles in this episode).
In the video I've included (above) showrunner John Wells discusses two of the main dysfunctional aspects of the Gallaghers in this episode.
The foundation of the show, perpetually drunk father 'Frank Gallagher' (William H. Macy) has lived with 'accidental' girlfriend, 'Sheila' (Joan Cusak) for most of the season. Her situation includes having debilitating agoraphobia and anxiety, an almost ex-husband (Joel Murray) living in her basement, and a very sexually active older-teen daughter who is dating the eldest Gallagher son, 'Lip' (Jeremy Allen White).
Daughter 'Karen' (Laura Slade Wiggins), and her father, who she once referred to as 'f*ck-face,' causing me to forget his character's real name, have a very strained relationship due to 1. her furious sexual activity and 2. his outrage about her behaviour coupled with his lack of a filter when he shares his opinion about it. Most commonly, Karen's dad calls her a slut. He's managed, by this episode, to have called her a slut in front of a roomful of people as they were supposedly 'making up,' sending her into a tailspin of self-destruction while seeking revenge against him.
Nurse Jackie Season 3 Episode 1 'Game On,' will be available here FREE for viewing through April 8th!:
Synopsis:
In the Season 3 premiere, Jackie's marriage is strained, as is her relationship with O'Hara after the intervention; Akalitus warns the staff that nearby hospitals have closed down, straining the staff and resources; Zoey publicly confesses her affair with Lenny.
Snippet of a repost: Oooh. So excited! Nurse Jackie is soon to return, on tonight (!) apparently with heels dug in against any kind of "help" for her drug addiction. As you may recall, the last we saw of Jackie both her best friend, Dr. O'Hara, and her husband Kevin staged an intervention upon Kevin's finding Jackie's drug expense sheet (her prescriptions bills) and putting two and two together. Of course Jackie's life is effed up on a number of levels so there should be much fertile new ground to mine in season 3.
The Harry Potter UKFacebook page has posted this new poster from the forthcoming final installment of the Potter franchise, 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2' which shows Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) and Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) head-to-head with the Elder Wand between them.
I agree with this comment from EW (especially the 'light-and-stubble part'--very well-put! The ick factor is unmistakeably there.):
Note how the light catches Harry’s stubble… when you’re not mesmerized by Voldemort’s fingernail. I also love that they went with this strong image, with the wand at the center and the line “IT ALL ENDS 7.15″ and didn’t care that it left no room for the title of the movie....
The official Harry Potter Facebook page has been updated to include the full list of international release dates for the "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II" film. To find out when the final installment of the Potter film franchise will premiere in your country, click!

In our family, spring break means a trip to the city of Chicago, not that there's no other time but I'm not at all inclined to brave the lake effect during the depths of winter unless I have to and summertime can get crazy with tourists.
This was a nice, late-March day albeit only about 40°F so the utterly fantastic underground parking at the Museum of Science and Industry was super-welcome. (The added benefit is you leave your coat n' stuff in the car.) All aspects of a trip to the city, even to a very specific destination need to have to have additional niceties that I consider when making the trip. Easy access is a very big plus.
That said, since it is spring break for my son, he picks out the museum/activity of choice and he inevitably chooses the Museum of Science and Industry. If I want to go to the Art Institute for example, I'm on my own (which does not ever stop me--I sort of like going to the Art Institute in particular, by myself so I can unselfconsciously linger where I please). I digress.
We caught glimpses of some cool Chicago sights on the way and saw plenty of great stuff when we got there including the current Bodyworks exhibit. Though no hands-on activities there (they are real bodies), otherwise this Museum is known for having some very cool either hands-on or 'living' activities as well, which is perhaps why I've not been able to convince 'junior' to return to the Field Museum where everything is 'dead.' The hands-on stuff can be quite sophisticated so you'll see less tiny kids and more adults participating which I admit, I prefer. There is a farm area that I think the tots gravitate towards though. One visit to the huge, fake pig and her 'suckling' piglets as well as the fake cow giving milk was enough for me.
One caveat, and I suppose this can be said of any activity in the city. It has gotten super-expensive. We paid general admission plus 1 special exhibit (there are a number from which to chose). Adult admission was $30 each.** There is no public trans that is going to get us there from here in the northwest suburbs to the south side of Chicago in under 2 hours so car is the way to go. That was another $20-something bucks in parking. We bought nothing at the museum, no food, drink, or souvenirs (we can get them online), instead stopping on the way home to clog our arteries at Outback Steakhouse (we do this no more than once per year, which is good because I still felt full the next day).
All-in all a perfect spring break day spent with spouse and son.
**there are so-called 'free days' but they are very irregular and spotty throughout the year, with long periods where there are none--specifically school break times and tourist season(s).
You know what I love about Hollywood? (besides the many gifts that it bears for me--see photos above and below). There is no 'off-season'! Oh sure, shows like my fave Showtime show Shamelessgo on hiatus (as of tonight <sob>) but there is always something good percolating, maybe just about to be unveiled.
I, like I'm quite sure thousands, if not millions ofBattlestar Galactica (RDM) enthusiasts, have been waiting for the right project with the perfect combination of cast to look forward to settling in and being amazed by ever since BSG took it's final bow. Darned if 17th Precinct doesn't sound like it could be the very show that we've been waiting for!
I'm so excited at the prospect but totally nervous that something could get in the way of it airing... but I'm really more excited than nervous because I'm keeping a positive attitude. Tricia Helfer as 'Morgana,' a spell-casting, potion-making coronor? All of a sudden all those network procedurals sound so very dreary.
Photos: Credit to and courtesy of @trutriciahelfer (Tricia Helfer)
Tricia has signed on to play Morgana, a potion-making and spell-casting coroner in Ronald D. Moore’s NBC Pilot, 17TH PRECINCT, a supernatural-themed police drama for NBC. She’s the third BATTLESTAR GALACTICA alum to join the cast — Jamie Bamber and James Callis being the first two. Ron Moore was of course the executive producer of the re-imagined BSG series, making 17TH PRECINCT a reunion of sorts.
Also joining the cast is Stockard Channing, Matt Long and Eamonn Walker.

True Blood Season 4 - It's Saturday Night & Waiting Sucks: Bill and Eric - Screencaps - SPOILERS?:
True Blood Season 4: Waiting Sucks: Bill and Eric:
A clip from episode 4.02 - ' You Smell Like Dinner' of True Blood Season 4.
Ranking the "Waiting Sucks' morsels being parceled out every Saturday (Geez HBO, didn't you know--power off for an hour tonight?!), I would put Waiting Sucks: Bill and Eric on par with the Sam & Luna one. Just not really anything to get excited about. Wow. Eric is bragging again that he's much older than Beel. Where have we heard that before? And Beel! WTF with the hair?! I know we teased you about the bangs but parted down centre?! It certainly is shaping up to be Eric's season!
Thanks to Tricia Helfer for sharing this photo of herself and her former castmates on Battlestar Galactica,Jamie Bamber as Lee 'Apollo' Adama and James Callis as 'Gaius Baltar.' Tricia of course, was the sublime 'Number 6'.
Anyway, I reeeeally hope that Ron Moore's latest endeavour, 17th Precinct, described as a 'supernatural cop show' gets picked up! Trica is alluding to the wrap party for the pilot for 17th Precinct in this photo. These actors were a big part of what made BSG so magical. Can a similar magic be created once again? I sure think so! (I've been dying to see Tricia and James acting together again!) Jamie had some pretty cool scenes on BSG with Baltar as well. I've not seen him as anyone but 'Lee Adama' so checking him out in a a new role is cool with me.
New York City Girls Rossum & Kenney Hang Out Before 'Shameless' Finale on 3.27.11!:

As much as I truly love the guys from Shameless, Emma Rose Kenney and Emmy Rossum as sisters 'Debbie' and 'Fiona' and are waaay outnumbered by them so it's great to to see the ladies together enjoying some off-set 'sister' time at the Met in NYC!
Don't forget! The Shameless finale airs Sunday, March 27 on Showtime at 9 Central /10 Eastern & Pacific. Shameless is my favourite new show (and I have very discriminating taste --I do!) Check Shameless out to find out why you should be watching, too (besides the obvious loveliness represented here).
Shameless Finale - EPISODE 12: Father Frank, Full Of Grace:
Steve's livelihood and Frank and Karen's secret are revealed.
I'm intrigued by the tiny bit of info contained above. Karen's secret? The website reveal? She tells Lip that she had sex with his [ick] dad?
Anyone ever wonder why Karen (Laura Slade Wiggins) was such a 'slut' at age thirteen? It would be a classic symptom of sexual abuse. Could her 'secret' be that? I wonder if Sheila (Karen's mom, played by the stellar native Chicaogan, Joan Cusack) will be in this episode? She's conspicuously absent from the sneak peeks & promo. It'll be all over for Frank (William H. Macy) once she finds out.
It's going to take a miracle for Frank to survive this episode. He's got Karen's dad (Joel Murray), possibly Kev the bartender (Steve Howey) (who has shown a really sweet side in his empathy for his sexually abused foster child) having been fed info. from the 'perp' (Frank) and Karen's very angry dad, including it seems, visual evidence in of 'the situtation'. (I have to say, I find Karen's circumstances at this point even sadder than Fiona's (Emmy Rossum) and Fi's are pretty damn heartbreaking.) Then there's Lip (Jeremy Allen White).
It appears that 'Jimmy' a/k/a Steve (Justin Chatwin) posts bail for Lip as that is SPOILER Lip in the preview who is giving Frank a beatdown after almost running him over so obviouslyLip must be released from County Jail. From the preview, it looks as if Karen breaks and tells Lip that she had sex with his father--and Lip won't blame Karen. He knows she's an emotional basket case and he already despises Frank. Not much of a leap to wanting to kill Frank.
Now 'Steve's livelihood.' That has really jammed things up for, let's see, himself, Lip, Ian, Fiona--and by extension the entire Gallagher clan. I was really hoping that Steve was a repo guy and that would explain the car stealing, but the plate switching killed that idea so I think like Fiona, we are gonna have to realize that Steve is a car thief who has gotten both her little brothers arrested and Lip at age 17, charged with a felony and she's gonna have to cut him loose. (I'm not ready to do that however. I adore Justin Chatwin and want him back in season 2.)
In the preview, Steve asks Fi to go away with him. Watch her facial expressions in the screen shots. She has her mouth sort of pursed and tightly closed as if to hold back a barrage of anger about what Steve has put her and her family through. Her expression only changes a tiny bit when he implores her to leave with him. It is a stupid question on his part because there's no frickin' way she'd ever leave the kids. Perhaps Tony (Tyler Jacob Moore), the not-so-nice-cop, pounded all sense out of him? If Tony didn't, Fiona's liable to.
Back to Frank, It seems his character will continue to take licking and keep ticking. It is as if Frank is perpetually punch drunk. Bam! He gets back up. Whack! Up he staggers. Smash!--he's like a damn whack-a-mole!
As excited I am about the finale, I'm very sad that Shameless will be gone for 9 months. It is the best 1 hour drama on Showtime (possibly on any network) since Dexter, hands down. It is my very favourite show and I'm totally not a big TV watcher. But day-em! This show, the cast, the writing, the heart. John Wells, the showrunner for Shameless, worked the same magic with 'China Beach,' one of my favourite shows of all time, and with ER, especially in it's first 5 years or so. All three shows have a crucial commonality, despite their vast differences in subject matter.
You have a group of people in very trying circumstances who somehow, over and over again, rise to the occasion and make their situations work while taking quite a few knocks in the process. Also with all three shows, there is one character in particular that you grow to care for intensely. In China Beach, it was nurse 'Colleen McMurphy' (Dana Delany), in ER, originally (before his 'death') it was 'Dr. Mark Greene' (Anthony Edwards), in Shameless it is 'Fiona Gallagher' (Emmy Rossum). Additionally, the shows have stellar writing and awesome casts. John Wells and his team have another winner here. I can't wait for season 2!

Shameless: Still No Steve
Fiona discusses lawyer options with Kevin and Veronica.
Publish quickly. The network rewards the first person to show up on the scene to describe what is going on, and it's important to get a version of that story underway promptly.
This is so succinct. It almost makes the writing process sound easy! In seriousness, I tend to get fixated on getting the first draft just right, before publishing. It is probably the worst mistake I make as it hangs up the rest of the process.
The rest:
Edit at leisure. The editing process takes time, and it shouldn't be unduly rushed. If necessary, work at it one paragraph at a time, and publish each paragraph after it is finished. Every single piece of work can be improved at any time by an edit.
Make the first version coherent. A first version that stands alone and accurate to itself might just be a concise headline and a lead paragraph. Each subsequent edit can grow the whole thing, but the first thing that hits the wire should be so fully composed that there would be no more reason to keep working on it.
'You ain't sick. You're just being reborn...as one of us.' Crystal to Jason
Oh my. Jason will never be the same. He's been bitten all over his body...and he's soon to become somewhat like Crystal and her kin--though somewhat less.
Tellingly, the title of True Blood Season 4 episode 3 is 'If You Love Me, Why Am I Dyin'?':
I have to admit, when I read about how this happened to Jason in the Charlaine Harris's #4 book, 'Dead and Gone,' I really did NOT want to ever have it visualized for me. Crystal's 'people' bit Jason all.over. his. body. In a shed, where this scene happens to be set.
This event changes Jason's entire life though I can't say it makes him less of a dumbass. Nothing good could have come of hooking up with Crystal and hanging in Hotshot--and now we know that nothing will.
First Look featurette for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II:
This 'featurette' for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II shows some never before seen footage from the final installment while interviewing cast and crew. The general consensus seems to be that this last installment will be loaded with thrilling action sequences.
I'm not a Harry Potter fanatic but this little taste of Deathly Hallows part 2 gave me chills. Without resorting to exaggeration, I think this film may be remembered in years to come as one of the best Harry Potter films in the series, if not THE best. I seriously cannot wait for it to come out!
However, other that the youngest child that can be sold on anything it is absolutely unnecessary to see it in 3D as the trailer urges. 3D movies are not going to 'save' the movies. Good movies will. IMO, nothing replaces the movie theatre experince and unlike complaints that people usually voice about why not to go--which mostly have to do with 'other' people and the noise or mess they make, there are so few people attending that I've found that they are not a problem at all.
Even Deathly Hallows part I on it's second weekend had plenty of seating, certainly no lines. I was amazed that it's numbers were said to be so good. I live in a Northwest (of Chicago) suburban area. I admit that I do enjoy no crowds but I worry 'no crowds at the theatre' will spell the end of the movie theatre experience.
'We got to find Ian's dad...maybe he'll give us some cash...he may be sober, he likes kids...' - Lip

Next on Shameless:
Episode 11,'Daddyz Girl':
Fiona makes a new friend; Frank loses his worker's compensation.
Frank loses workman's comp -but he's still getting disability and who knows what else. Frank has his priorities- he, himself & him.
Screencaps Episode 1.11 ( All images: Showtime copyright)
Shameless: Dad is a Twin Lip and Ian try to track down one of Frank's brothers.
These two actors -- Jeremy Allen White as 'Lip' and Cameron Monaghan as 'Ian', have done an ace job of making their sibling relationship seem believable despite how very different they are in every other way. I really enjoy their scenes together but with so much going on in the Gallagher household-- I forget how much I do until they have another scene--like this one.
Shameless: St. Patty's Day Party
Fiona helps with decorations for Deb's St. Patty's Day party.
Aww (watch the video). What can I say about Emmy Rossum as Fiona? She can slay you with just one look. This character is so layered--tough and vulnerable, street smart but hopeful to the point of naivete--when it comes to men, anyway. Always frazzled-looking as she would be if she were doing what Fiona does---but dressed up for the occasional club night, she is an ethereal beauty.
From the first episode it felt to me like Fiona Gallagher was the heart of the show-- she takes care of everyone in her universe and does it with aplomb. The fact that her heart is big enough to include even her drunken, selfish, narcissist of a father is a testament to how good a person 'Fi' is.
Shameless has become my favourite dramedy on television. I would say favourite show but after five years savouring one of Showtime's other stellar series --Dexter--I simply can't cross that off. But, thankfully they are totally different shows so I can like them both 'the best'.
Get Ready, Jason Has Earned His Badge as Season 4 Begins!:
Ryan Kwanten, Jason Stackhouse on HBO's bloody supernatural drama, True Blood, confirmed what (if you've been paying attention) we've already known since PaleyFest:True Blood Season 4 will begin a year after True Blood Season 3.
Though I'm not sure about all the previous sources of this news, the one I previously commented on ishere where Todd Lowe, who plays beloved Merlotte's short-order cook 'Terry Bellefleur,' spilled that his on-screen lady-love's 'Arlene' (Carrie Preston) baby, whose pregnancy was not more than a few months along at the end of True Blood season 3--will have been born at the time True Blood season 4 commences.
This time 'round Kwanten discloses that he will have attained full Bon Temps cop status as the time frame of Season 4 moves to 'Bon Temps: One Year Later.'
Note: It has been revealed that True Blood Episode 4.07 title is - 'Cold Grey(sp?) Light of Dawn.' (Not sure if it is a typo or that they are going with the British way of spelling 'gray').
Mind-blowing 17th Precinct Set Photo: 'From the lady,' formerly the iconic Number 'Six on the unforgettable Battlestar Galactica (RDM) series reunion, the lovely and talented,@trutriciahelfer!
Excitement! This-is the first acting roll together that both Tricia Helfer & James Callis have had since BSG, right? I've totally been waiting for this as these two ignite one another onscreen!
It is impossible for Trica to look less than beautiful but the dark hair suits her, amping up her already impossibly high va-v-va-va-voom- factor.
Here ya go #BSG peeps. 6, Baltar, Apollo. Aka Morgana, John, Caolan.
It's an exciting Battlestar Galactica reunion from the set of Ron Moore's upcoming supernatural drama '17th Precinct,' in a new pic tweeted by none other than Number Six herself, Tricia Helfer.
We were already thrilled about our favorite BSG actors getting back together on Moore's 17th Precinct, so our squee levels were off the charts when Helfer tweeted a pic of herself and her co-stars from the set yesterday.
TriciaHelferTweet031611.jpg Standing shoulder to shoulder again, Helfer, James (Gaius "frakkin'" Baltar) Callis and Jamie (Lee Adama) Bamber took the time to reach out to their fans. Thanks, guys! We're sort of digging Tricia Helfer's brunette locks, and Callis seems rather snug between the statuesque beauty and Jamie Bamber, don't you think? (via SFX)
I'll be sad to have Californication over for season 4 but I'm glad Hank Moody's trial will be over by season's end. Who knows where the plot line will pick up in season 5? Dare we even venture a guess?
I was fortunatee enough to have the entire season given to me for review purposes, not realizing that other websites doing the same thing were billing their posts as 'Advance Review,' which I will do next time** ---hopefully maybe, with Nurse Jackie or oooh, or Weeds :) ?! I so love Mary-Louise Parker and her 'family'!
I can't wait for 'Nurse Jackie' to start this month!
**This time I'm just reviewing each episode week by week.

Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin), Season 3 Finale: Abducted by The Fae (fairies)?
True Blood: Faery Tales!:
Hey Truebies. There's not a whole lot of substance to today's True Blood nugget o' info on Season 4 (start date 6.12.11) but what there is sounds...almost magical!
TV Guide spills just a trickle about Sookie Stackhouse's relatives:
Here's one thing you can be sure of: Faeries can't be turned into vampires. (Vampires just think their blood is mighty tasty and helpful for sun-bathing.) But executive producer Alan Ball reveals something else that fairies can do: "They can abduct humans and take them somewhere else that is not here," he says. "Just like aliens."
OK, so maybe die-hard True Blood fans sort of knew this already (Alan Ball revealed this some time ago) but it doesn't hurt that the TV critics are getting up to speed, right?
It seems a stretch but could Tara have met the same fate as Sookie--being 'taken' by faeries? Rutina Wesley (Tara) has said that Season 4 brings a 'whole new Tara.' Could the influence of The Fae (as fairies are referred to in True Blood) help bring about Tara's change?
Just a thought. When humans are 'abducted,' are they seducted by The Fae into willingly being 'abducted' as Sookie seemed to be in the Season 3 finale?

Doll in Jessica & Hoyt's New House Has Baggage, says Alan Ball:
I've turned up the backlight in this True Blood HBO copyright screen shot of the 'doll' on the floor of Jessica & Hoyt's new house. This is the last scene of season 3 in which we see True Blood's favourite young couple.
The doll definitely has some type of beads around it's torso. What significance do you think they have?
From TVGuide comes one of the creepiest spoilers yet! TVGUIDE (in answer to a request for True Blood Spoilers:
Remember that creepy doll we saw at Jessica and Hoyt's new home in the season finale? "I can tell you that the doll is more than just a doll," executive producer Alan Ball tells us. "That doll has a passenger."
Oh, crap. Dolls are inherently creepy but a 'doll with a passenger'...on True Blood(!)? That sounds really, really bad. Wonder what shenanigans it is going to get into during the day while Jessica sleeps and Hoyt is away at work. That thing will have way too much time on it's hands (does it even have hands?)
Here's a really nicely done recap of True Blood season 1 -3. It caught my fancy so I thought I'd share.

I don't know if it is because this little clip is (of necessity) out of context, but it seems an awkward scene to me. It could be that it is meant to be awkward as does Hank, besides having a relationship with his daughter and his ex (and bf, Charlie), even have real relationships?
Specifically with women he's 'dating,' Hank doesn't get that serious, does he? (I ask, as 1. it doesn't seem that he does and 2. this is my 1st season watching Californication.)
The thing that is throwing me a bit about Hank and Abby is that neither seem particularly in need of anything deeper than what they have, which let's face it (excluding the attorney-client thing), is that they are f**k buddies. Should be interesting to find out where they end up.
There's no doubt that Nurse Jackie is a sharply funny, extremely well-acted 30- minute premium cable show. The subject matter is mature in that the show's namesake 'Nurse Jackie,' is a highly competent nurse--and pill addict, which has led her to do some pretty shady things. She doesn't feel good about doing them but her addiction at this point is stronger than she is--and that is saying something because she's tough as nails.
I love that Edie Falco has landed in a premium cable show that she's a perfect fit for. Her Emmy award-winning character, 'Jackie Peyton' is 100 percent not like the award-winning character Carmela, that she played on the late, great HBO mafia drama,'The Sopranos.' Not that I expected she would be. But even her appearance is so radically different.
Supporting Cast on 'Jackie' Rocks:
Not unexpectedly, the supporting cast on Nurse Jackie is fantastic. I especially like ER Admin 'Gloria Akalitis' (ANNA DEAVERE SMITH), Jackie's best friend 'Dr. O'Hara' (Eve Best), Jackie's husband, Kevin (DOMINIC FUMUSA) and lover, Eddie (Paul Schulze).
I can't imagine why you may not have watched Nurse Jackie in it's first 2 seasons but it is never too late to start. Go for it!

Nurse Jackie: Season 3, Episode 1 - 'Game On'
In the Season 3 premiere, Jackie's marriage is strained, as is her relationship with O'Hara after the intervention; Akalitus warns the staff that nearby hospitals have closed down, straining the staff and resources; Zoey publicly confesses her affair with Lenny.
Nurse Jackie returns for season three beginning Monday, March 28th at 10PM ET/PT.
Showtime end-of-season 2 Nurse Jackie Synopsis:
The Showtime Original Series Nurse Jackie ended season two with the ugly truth closing in on super-nurse Jackie Peyton. Her lover Eddie threatened to come clean about their affair to his good friend Kevin, who also happens to be Jackie's husband. And O'Hara and Kevin put the pieces together about Jackie's pill-popping ways and confronted her about her addiction. But if the people in her life think one little intervention is going to stop her, they don't know Jackie. The great white liar returns for another hilarious season on March 28th.
Shameless EPISODE 10: 'Nana Gallagher Had An Affair' Promo:
Monica's return wreaks havoc on the Gallaghers; Fiona moves out.
From Shameless EPISODE 10: 'Nana Gallagher Had An Affair' - Parental Rights'
Previously on Shameless: 'EPISODE 9: But At Last Came A Knock':
Frank has some settlement money coming his way. The only catch — he needs his ex-wife's signature on the documents. Debbie goes on a mission to find out if Steve is cheating on Fiona, only to discover Steve may not be who he says he is at all. Kev and Veronica receive a visit from Ethel's baby son Jonah... and the DCFS. Lip needs money to take Karen on a date so he turns to Steve for help. Meanwhile, Eddie reaches out to Karen and invites her to a Purity Ball.
Things don't end well when Frank's ex-wife Monica shows up, announcing her plan to take Liam. Kash catches Ian and Mickey going at it. An enraged Fiona moves out of the house and in with Steve.
Best line from Shameless - EPISODE 9: 'But At Last Came A Knock':
Lip to Ian: “You know how Dad’s a total fucking asshole? Turns out he’s the good one.”
Wow. Shameless - Episode 9 was one head-spinning moment after another.
Firstly, I never thought we'd see mother Gallagher 'Monica', so quickly. I figured they'd stretch that part of the plot out maybe even until season 2 because 'missing mom' has been such a large, looming spectral presence in the Gallagher home. But no, Mrs. Frank Gallagher did show up in full force with a Peterbilt-driving gf and she was ready not only to reunite with the family but to take home a souvenir afterward. That would be baby Liam, a mixed-race baby, obviously not Frank's biologically (though I realize that legally it could get very complicated as Monica and Frank were living as husband and wife, Frank's name is probably on the birth certificate, etc.).
As mind-blowing as it was for Frank (William H. Macy) to come face-to face with his ex, it was about 6 times as awful for the Gallagher children.
Though they were all shocked (with the exception of the previously-mentioned 2 y.o. Liam) their reactions immediately following Monica's proclamation that she wished to be a 'mother again' to the young ones and to actually take custody of Liam varied widely, with Fiona-- not unexpectedly-- reacting with outrage.
Realizing that there was nothing she could do to fight back at that moment and overcome with a flood of emotions that she probably kept dammed up for the previous 2 years, Fiona announced to Monica that the kids were Monica's now--then out into the Chicago winter she walked. Emmy Rossum's pronouncement to her onscreen mother (Chloe Webb China Beach, Sid & Nancy, performance art), was just devastating. Less a tirade than it was a howl of psychic pain. Emmy Rossum played it very, very real. It's my opinion that Rossum's 'Fiona' is the heart of this fine new series, though she is surrounded by stellar talents all 'round.
When Fiona's heart broke into a million pieces right before our eyes and the eyes of her sibs, bf, & parents, it was like watching her crumble emotionally. It was hugely touching.
Paley Fest 2011 - More Reveals About Sookie Stackhouse & Cos. Season 4 Story Arcs, Screen Capped:
From
Anna Paquin, who stars as waitress/telepath/faery Sookie Stackhouse in HBO's True Blood (S4 debuts 6.12.11), discusses the attributes--and the negatives of Alexander Skarsgård's "Eric" as on-the-show boyfriend material. Skarsgård takes full advantage and hams it up, reacting to all her points. Steve Moyer (vampire Bill) has difficulty keeping a straight face as Anna earnestly explains the why and wherefores of Sookie's romantic options in True Blood, season 4.
From PaleyFest via E!
According to True Blood show runner Alan Ball:
"What Sookie (Anna Paquin) said to Bill (Stephen Moyer) at the end of last season, she meant it, and it's going to take a lot from him to win her back if he ever will, and I don't know if he ever will or not."
..."(Also) there are complications with Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) that (Sookie) didn't see coming, and there are complications with Alcide (Joe Manganiello) she didn't see coming."
Ball explained that everyone's favourite vamps best keep a watchful eye out for witches, because they're joining the show this year, and they're gonna be trouble.
Ball said:
"I don't think it's a rule that vampires and witches that don't get along, but there are certain witches who are really dabbling in dark, dark magic, necromancy—powers over the dead. So vampires aren't going to like that."
Accordingly to E! you should much 'angsty awesomeness' from Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) and Hoyt (Jim Parrack) this season!
Parrack says:
"We're living together, and when I get home from work I find she's been sleeping all day because she has to, and everybody told us there would be problems, but...Deborah and I said before the season, let's make this decision: Let's say we told ourselves, 'It'll never be us. We'll never be that. Our love is bigger and stronger. And now...life is starting to say otherwise.'"
Parrack further disclosed:
"I like episode three this season; I get to do a great, great scene in that episode. Alan wrote that episode, and I get this wonderful Tennessee Williams-ish scene."
But Alan Ball & Co. are not finished with Hoyt quite yet. Says Ball:
"Well...[Jim] hasn't even begun. Obviously he hasn't read episode seven or eight yet. Those are major. It's not as easy being a couple as perhaps they thought."
Based on Alan Ball's and Todd Lowe's remarks, the "Is Arlene's baby a demon child?" talk may end up being less than what the ever-excitable Arlene (Carrie Preston) may fear it to be.
Todd Lowe said:
"I don't know if it's devil babies…It's babies. Neonatal, strange, possibly possessed human babies." But here's the thing—as any new mom can tell you, normal human babies behave just like possessed babies, what with the endless screaming and the projectile vomiting. Arlene's probably in the clear, she just won't know it for a while.

From Ausiello @ TV Line (below):
Alan Ball provided confirmation of Bill- n'-Sookie-shipping fan's worst fears: The Civil War-era vampire and his BonTemps faery-waitress-telepath honey will not reconcile in True Blood Season 4 (just like in the books!):
Buh-bye, Bill & Sookie | If these two are your ‘ship of choice, I’d advise you to look away…now. True Blood showrunner Alan Ball revealed that Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Sookie’s (Anna Paquin) emotional breakup in Season 3′s finale will definitely stick, calling their road to reconciliation a “long journey,” and one that won’t happen quickly.
“[Bill's] betrayal [of Sookie] is so deep that I don’t think she sees a way back from that,” Ball said. “That’s why we need 17 seasons.” Alcide (Joe Manganiello) on the other hand, “doesn’t turn into a ball of charred fire in the daytime,” said Paquin.
Eric Northman, Who?! | Sookie’s going to be too tied up with the likes of Eric Northman to worry about Bill, anyway. At least, we think that’s what ahead since Ball and Co. appear to be following the novels and taking away Eric’s memory.
“Things are definitely not stable for Eric,” Alexander Skarsgård teased. “He doesn’t know who he is anymore. He’s very lost.” Without revealing how his amnesia comes to be, the actor told fans that “there are a lot of helpful people in Bon Temps” to assist in piecing together Eric’s past — maybe even a blonde fairy — but everyone’s favorite protégé Pam (Kristin Bauer van Straten) “is obviously very helpful as his lovely daughter.”
Sookie’s Fairy Playground | Last time we saw poor Sookie, she was wandering around some enchanted fairy land. Well, when we return, she’s back but “there’s some stuff that’s different,” Paquin said. (It must be said that Paquin is the tightest-lipped of all the tight-lipped True Blood cast.)
Sookie will continue her journey to find herself — now minus Bill. Ball advised fans not to expect to meet her fairy “godfather” this season either.:
A Wiccan Good Time | The Season 4 witches we’ve heard so much about “are not the bringers of evil,” promised Ball. “There’s an older entity that comes in.”
The witchy Kevin Alejandro (Jesus) is also back as Lafayette’s boyfriend, and Nelsan Ellis says that they’re still happy together — if only because “he’s under Jesus’ spell.”
Shapeshifters Multiply |
“Sam, he had a bad day,” Sam Trammell laughed when asked if his character would cool off a little following the finale...
“But he’s getting another shot [at love].” Marshall Allman, Sam’s bad-to-the-bone little brother Tommy is back and up to no good, per usual. Ball also offered that in addition to the witches, True Blood will introduce “a handful of new shifters.”
Tara Returns | Rutina Wesley assured fans that Tara will come back to Bon Temps after her rapid departure in last season’s finale. The place she went during her little hiatus from the supernatural is “cool” and will surprise people, she said. “We’ll see a new Tara,” Wesley added. “She’s a lot more stable and she may find some happiness.”
The Best of the Rest | Arlene and Terry are still “evil” baby-bound, and Carrie Preston told fans that “the problem grows exponentially.” Andy Bellefleur (Chris Bauer) has some woes of his own this season, experimenting with all that V left behind in his office.
That fight between Bill and Evan Rachel Wood’s Queen Sophie-Anne will be addressed early on, and, added Ball, “It’s not just the two of them in this fight.:
In a scene shown to fans attending PaleyFest, Hoyt (Jim Parrack) and Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) are still together but fighting for public acceptance in the “post-Russel Edgington (Denis O’Hare) society”.
“The fairy tale can’t last forever,” Woll offered. “But maybe reality is better.”
Very little Jason (Ryan Kwanten) was discussed during the panel, but he will be working with the police again this season. And, of course, Pam will continue to get the best one-liners, and has some fun stuff ahead with Tara, Ball promised.

Vampire 'Eric' HBO 'Waiting Sucks' NEW SPOILER VIDEO:
A female voice calls to Eric. 'It's me,' she says. He answers flatly, 'Who?'
Stuff to note upon first glance: Eric's signature fang necklace is missing but the outline of it remains on his torso. Speaking of Eric's torso, he appears to be bruised and there's an odd mark about mid-way between his nipples. He also appears to be shoeless, maybe wearing socks? (FWIW, in the book, I think he's barefoot. )
This shot is identified as from episode 2 of season 4 ( the show is currently in production for a June 12, 2011 debut date) via the screen shot of the slate/clapper board used in directing.
True Blood Season 4 'Waiting Sucks' Eric.
Finally! Some visuals to tease us! The announcer intones that Eric ...'is more like a lost child than the monster we know him to be.'
SPOILER: The voice calling out to him, saying, 'Eric, it's me!' is Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin).
All the actors on Shameless have, at one point or another--in their own particular way--knocked my socks off with their talents. Case in point is 'Debbie' or 'Debs', played with utter believability by Emma Rose Kenney.
Debs came across Steve's (Justin Chatwin) cellphone with a lovey-dovey text message on it from someone not Fiona (Emmy Rossum). After Fiona cracked him in the forehead with the phone, Steve lied to her about the text being from a girl 'at work.' Turns out Steve has some major baggage that he has thus far not claimed. Unbeknownst to him however, he's got little ginger-haired girl who's fiercely protective of her family, hot on his trail. Watch the video below top where Debbie finds out what Steve has been hiding and Steve realizes that he is so. totally. screwed.

Actress Emmy Rossum dishes on her "Shameless" sexcapades including last week's 'Steve & Fiona' pool sex. Plus hear about her plan to potty train her kitty on the toilet!
Aww. This is great! Emmy is cute on Shameless (Showtime, Sunday nights @ 10p.m. E) but here with hair done and lipstick, simply beautiful. She holds her own with Chelsea with a engaging sense of humour and one-of-a-kind laugh that you'd never expect from 'a lady.' Nothing stereotypical about this girl. Love her!
(Note: Ya'll who 'hate' Emmy's shoes: 1.They are a bright spring-like style which is sooo welcome as we are dying for winter to be over, and 2. Chelsea Handler's camera people shoot from an odd "under" angle--perhaps they are hoping for an upskirt shot? Regardless, I've often thought what huge feet/hideous shoes Chelsea was wearing until it clicked that it is the cameraman's doing--not Chelsea or the talent's.)

Captain Jack Sparrow is back in 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides:
Fourth installment of Disney's 'Pirates' franchise arrives May 20, 2011
Captain Jack's new adventure includes an everything-but-the-kitchen-sink mix of 'mermaids, zombies [and] Blackbeard,' the most dreaded "pirate that all pirates fear," played by noted bad guy Ian McShane. The woman in Jack Sparrow's ('Shouldn't there be a 'captain' in there somewhere?" wonders Jack) life this time 'round is the enigmatic 'Angelica' (Penelope Cruz), a woman from his past with an agenda all her own. Angelica enlists Jack's help in finding the Fountain of Youth, then forces him to board Blackbeard's ship, and the story takes off (we hope).
The trailer shows us a peek at the gorgeous Angelica, a woman of action, Blackbeard being his nasty/scary self and Jack being all Jack-like. I'm fairly certain that I saw a cameo by Jack's dad (and Depp's inspiration for his character) played by Keith Richards. If so, yay! There's also a luminously beautiful mermaid (Astrid Berges-Frisbey) and the gallant young missionary (Sam Claflin) who attempts to keep her from harm's way.
Johnny Depp 'Rango' MTV Interview: The Actor Stays in His Comfort Zone with Director Verbinski
Johnny Depp is one of those actors who disappear so fully into the characters he plays onscreen that with each new film, it's hard to know what to expect from the Oscar nominee. Depp's latest, the animated pic "Rango," is no exception. In the film — directed by Depp's "Pirates of the Caribbean" director Gore Verbinski and featuring the vocal talents of Abigail Breslin, Isla Fischer and Bill Nighy — Depp plays the title character, a chameleon living a lonely life in a cage as a family pet. But Rango is also an aspiring actor so he stages elaborate plays within the confines of his little glass home. He suddenly finds his life turned upside down when his cage is accidentally thrown out of his owners' car during a cross-country move, landing him in the strange town of Dirt in the Nevada desert. MTV News caught up with Depp and we asked him if, given his chameleon-like abilities as an actor, he felt a sense of kinship with the little green reptile, and whether Rango is perhaps the closest he's come to playing himself. "What I saw early on with the character, and something that Gore and I talked about, is that it is in sort of all of us, in a way," Depp explained. "There is a chameleonic side to all of us in which we find ourselves in certain situations that you have to adapt to, sitting across from personalities that you have to adapt to in order to survive the moment or survive the day," he said. "That's kind of how I saw Rango."

Watch Emmy Rossum, whose hit Showtime show 'Shameless' was just renewed for a second season, earnestly explain to Conan O'Brien what a 'vag patch' is as well as the intricacies of a 'cock sock' (it has a bow on top). Emmy goes on to recount her 'first time' using both devices with Shameless co-star Justin Chatwin including how, in order to prevent any :ahem: unintended consequences, sand was used to weigh the sock down! (And they say Hollywood is all about glitz and glamour!)
As you probably know, though True Blood season 4 is in production , it is way too early to be getting many meaty spoilers. Kudos to the cast for finding different ways to cheerfully chat about their character's story arcs in season 4 without really giving much at all away in the way of solid information.
Here are some more snippets from Sam Trammell, (Sam Merlotte), Rutina Wesley (Tara Thornton) and Deborah Ann Woll (Jessica Hamby) that they shared whilst at the recent True Blood Vol. 1: All Together Now Graphic novel promotion/ autograph signing.
Q: Do you know any new spoilers related to season four of True Blood? Sam Trammell said, at the Barnes & Noble book signing event this weekend past for True Blood Vol. 1: All Together Now in re: Sam Merlotte's Season 4 future:
"What's great about this year is that we explore the shape-shifter community a little bit more, so there's going to be a lot of cool mythological stuff that we talk about, shape-shifter rules and what shape-shifters can do and who they are. Sam's [also] got anew love interest ('Luna' played by Janina Gavankar) that's going to happen this year for him. I don't have really good luck with the ladies, they usually die—so hopefully she'll survive."
