There a short which portrays Keith Richards in snippets from various time frames.
Depp quotes Richards: "If you are going to kick authority in the ass, you may as well use both feet."
In the short Richards says, In reply to, "How do you survive it all?' (Richards overdosed on heroin on a near-regular basis for many years.) Richard's answer: "I dunno." I guess me luck hasn't run out, yet."
Another interviewer queries, "What is your definition of Rock?" Without even a pause Richards replies, "Me."

Sons of Anarchy
Season 2 : Ep. 207
Since The League has SAMCRO members behind bars, the club must make new alliances in prison to survive. Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Agent Stahl uses this imprisonment to test Jax and Clay’s relationship.
I believe this is the episode where after being baited by Agent Stahl, Clay finally punches Jax and beats him pretty good until the old man tires, allowing Jax some leeway to catch up and land a few good ones on his stepdad. I think too (could be wrong since there is so much fighting on this show) that Charlie Hunnam lost his tooth during this fight sequence. Now, I'm not saying that it was the exact take that we saw in the the finished episode but I _do_ think from how Hunnam described it that it was during the part where "Hellboy" (Ron Perleman/Clay)threw him face-first against the cell bars. Ouch! Emergency dental surgery ensues!

Last night's episode of Dexter, Ep. 5: Dirty Harry," was yet another strong one. In the aftermath of the killing of Lundy and shooting of Deb, Dexter realizes that though Miami Metro is thinking it's another act by the Vacation Murderer(s)--who end up in custody-one in morgue custody, the shootings are instead Trinity at work. Dexter must add this to his repertoire of secrets however, and handle Trinity alone.
Lundy got careless and Trinity took him out before Lundy could interfere with Trinity's next ritualistic murder--a bludgeoning of a middle-aged man with two kids.
Deb, though not seriously physically wounded, psychically is destroyed by Lundy's death and by her own infidelity. Still in her hospital bed, she immediately confesses to live-in boyfriend Anton about cheating and ends "them" on the spot despite his pleas to let him help her as she did him when he was victimized by the Skinner (last season).
Rita continues to take issue with Dexter behaving as he always has--secretively--and you can see in one of the promo clips that he ends up in couples counselling with her.
I find most every scene with Rita annoying --at least the Rita part of it.
Michael C. Hall often rescues it ( mostly) so I'm not looking forward to her explanations of why she is so unhappy being married to Dexter. The relationship has always been heavily skewed toward co-dependency. Rita was at first a cover for Dexter--an added veneer of normalcy to cover his Dark Passenger. For Rita, Dexter was almost too good to be true (!) nice guy and a ticket to "living the (her) dream." She's completely oblivious to the fact that her dream is Dex's nightmare.
If counselling will do anything it will open her eyes--which should make her want to flee and it could do the same for Dex. Why the writers feel the need to keep the sad, tired character of Rita going is beyond me.
Finally, about Jennifer Carpenter (Deb). This character has gradually grown on me over four seasons, as the writers have fleshed her out and as the actress has learned just "who" Deb is at her core. I think Carpenter reached the pinnacle--the essence of Deb at her most raw and most real as after summoning Dex to the motel lot where she and Lundy had just days earlier had been shot, she opened up her soul and howled--literally. She's "broken." Not for a second did I not believe her. She sobbed convulsively and my tears started flowing, too.
With Dexter standing there helplessly as his first attempt at touching his sister was rebuked, Jennifer Carpenter displayed an Emmy-calibre performance that was devastatingly pitch perfect.
Next week:
Dexter - S4E6 - 'If I Had A Hammer'
Dexter knows it's only a matter of time before Miami Metro discovers the Trinity Killer's latest handiwork. Therefore, he has to work doubly hard to stay one step ahead of their investigation. Dexter has begun to realize that the closer he gets to Trinity, the more he stands to learn from this very different beast. Trinity hides behind a well-kept mask, and getting behind that facade will require some extra prodding on Dexter's part. Meanwhile, Debra becomes frustrated when she finds herself shut out from her own case. She considers bending the rules in the name of justice, risking her career in the process. LaGuerta and Batista come to regret a major decision, and realize that by playing by the rules they may have painted themselves into a corner. And when the friction between Rita and Dexter comes to a head, Dexter gleans relationship advice from a most unlikely source.

[caption id="attachment_1771" align="aligncenter" width="300" caption="For the late 2009 UK debut of True Blood Anna Paquin (Sookie Stackhouse) & Stephen Moyer (Vampire Bill Compton)"][/caption]
"Stephen Moyer was the kind of face you recognized, but couldn’t put a name to. Born in Brentwood, Essex, he started acting in his teens, and for years was a jobbing thesp in the likes of Casualty and even acted in films with Kate Winslet (in Quills) and Al Pacino (in 88 Minutes) – steady work, but nothing to put him on our radar.
Then, in 2008, the 40-year-old was catapulted up the fame ladder into the A-list – and it all happened overnight.
‘One minute I was sitting in London reading a fantastic script for True Blood and two days later I was in Los Angeles and being told I’d got the part,’ he recalls. ‘It was incredible. And yes it has changed my life completely.’
It is great that a British company bought rights to Season One of True Blood and is now broadcasting it in the U.K. on Wednesdays, C4, 10pm. Pretty much a guaranteed first and second season, IMO .
Click through to the full Mirror interview with native son Stephen Moyer (link just below). It is fun to hear from Mr. Anna Paquin any time as he is quite engaging and seems very aware of how lucky he is. Moyer is adept at answering questions about all the finer aspects of Vampire Bill with acute observations and tremendous insight into the character.
In these small interview excerpts/ long quotes from http://mirror.co.uk , Moyer describes exactly what he and Anna chose as the best way to first present the characters of Bill and Sookie. He also gushes about how wonderful Anna Paquin is to work with. It's quite lovely.
I’d got(ten) an... amazing gig at Fox... Then the show didn’t happen and it was all a bit of a mess. I ... said to myself, ‘I’m not doing that again.’ It was just so upsetting and frustrating and that had happened ... before, and I actually said to my manager, ‘I’m not coming back.’ ... I just thought I’d go back to the UK and be with my kids. Then my agent called and said, ‘Look, even though the Fox job didn’t happen, your casting tape from that audition has been doing the rounds... I’m getting scripts right, left and centre.’ Eventually she said, ‘..Please, just read this one.’ And I read it. The script was by Alan Ball for True Blood. And it was absolutely fantastic. I couldn’t believe it, it was amazing.
So you went back?
Well, at first I put myself on tape for it....Alan saw it that afternoon and... called back and said that he wanted to meet me. I flew that night and I was sitting in front of Alan 14 hours later with Anna (Paquin) reading the part of Bill. The next morning I went to the HBO office and read it for some of the guys there and that was it, I was cast. Two days!
Whats' it like playing the 173-year-old vampire Bill Compton?
I love him. He’s amazing. I love his back story. I knew from the character break-down he had kids and he’d been forced to leave them and it gives you a sense of this man who has to feed on blood, but it’s the last thing he wants to do. Also he is profoundly moral, so he has no qualms about killing if it’s for the right reason. You’ve got this romantic, old-fashioned gentleman who also happens to be a vampire...
About the look of Vampire Bill Compton:
When you first see him he looks like your classic vampire – he’s dark, he’s moody, and he’s brooding. But in episode 2 (of the first series) we tried to show that he smartened himself up a bit – he changed his hair, the way he dresses – because he’s trying to make Sookie and her family feel more at ease with him. Actually, one of the reasons I love this job so much is because we are playing with so many ideas. Like his costumes – the costume designer will come to me and say, ‘How about we try this?’ And it will be a little thing like having his collars turned up on a certain jacket that gives a hint of the Confederate soldier, just a little echo of part of his past.
The chemistry between you and Anna Paquin is clearly important.
Yes it is. And she’s amazing. From the first moment I met her, the moment we sat together on the sofa doing a scene for Alan, I knew we’d get along brilliantly. I used to teach kids drama and I used to say, ‘There’s no failure, it doesn’t exist. You can do whatever you want and if it doesn’t work it doesn’t matter because you’ll be able to use something from it.’ And with Anna we both sat there and said, ‘Let’s play with this.’ So on the first day we met each other we were walking around working the scenes together. ‘What if I do this? Or how about this?’ It’s an absolute dream to work with someone like that.

As far as bottoms go--the more outrageous, the better! There is still time to order and get your True Blood 'Inspired by Lafayette' Set and receive it before Halloween (in the US) so what are you waiting for?

Channel your inner Sam this Halloween with the Men’s Merlotte’s Tee and Merlotte’s Beer Stein – available at the HBO SHOP®. Click Through (link above) Here!
Sam would be pretty easy to put together. Besides the shirt and mug get yourself a pair of Wranglers--that is the brand Sam wears but you can fake it if you wish. ;)
Maybe a bit of non-permanent gray hair colour spray to get that true Sam look. You are set!
[caption id="attachment_1720" align="aligncenter" width="394" caption="Sookie Stackhouse Set True Blood"][/caption]
Did you ever have a waitress who could read your mind and knew exactly what you wanted? Well, this bar has a waitress named Sookie who can do just that. Visit Merlotte's bar and ask for Sookie and take home your own Merlotte's Bar and Grill logo t-shirt and apron. This shirt and apron are just like the ones worn by Sookie and the other waitresses. No vampires please.
Sookie's costume is pretty easy too, once you have these two pieces. Under the apron Sookie wears short shorts--black, I believe but any pair of short shorts will due, I'm sure as their shortness is the real point of wearing them. Sookie also wears sensible tennis shoes and you should wear your tennies or sneakers too. No socks. Finally, the finishing touch is the long, blond hair. Personally, I like the classic Sookie, Season 1 work-look with her hair up high in a pony tail but anyway you want to play it willbe be great--it's your night!
[caption id="attachment_1723" align="aligncenter" width="450" caption="Vampire Bill Compton Set True Blood"][/caption]
Passionate and perhaps a little possessive, Bill Compton established his hold over Sookie and protects her from other vampires.
Made from 100% cotton, this shirt features 'Sookie is Mine' and the True Blood logo. Pair this shirt with the Tru Blood Drink and you have the perfect Bill outfit!
I think you must get some vampire teeth--and no really cheesy ones to pull off being Bill for one night. I would actually wear the T-shirt under an open-just-enough dress shirt as that's what the conservative Bill wears. Nice pants, not jeans would best achieve a Bill-like aura. But truly, the attitude is what you need to have and if you love Vampire Bill enough to dress as him, you can give it your best shot when invariably, someones asks you to utter bBill's signature line " Sookie is mine!"
The only other things would be the old-fashioned style side burns and possibly colouring with your hair black with temporary colouring. I think the sideburns would be a kind of cool compliment with the teeth. (No cheesy plastic teeth. Bill has great vamp teeth, spend a bit on this part of the look!)
It's official! The Tru Blood drink has now been "de-fictionalized" and emerges into reality as a delicious blood orange carbonated drink.

EDIT/UPDATE 10.20 - E! "Gemma's Rape--Everyone will know.
Q: I have a question about Sons of Anarchy: Is what happened to Gemma going to come out to Jax and Clay? A: Before

Gemma was raped by those white-supremacist thugs from LOAN.
Since The League has SAMCRO members behind bars, the club must make new
alliances in prison to survive. Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Agent

Poor Lundy (Keith Carradine). In his zeal to catch the Trinity killer--being "this close" to getting his man, he got sloppy and stood openly--in the broad Miami daylight--at the scene where he and Deb had determined that Trinity's next crime was to have taken place. Never gave a moment's thought about the page-one news article about his being in town pursuing Trinity, but Trinity sure did--and so dispatched with Lundy--bang-bang.
Poor Deb. Girl can't catch a break when it comes to matters of the heart and so her very brief reconciliation with Lundy was cut short by a scared serial killer (not her brother!)
Does Deb die? Not according to the loglines for next week. I'm afraid we've seen the last of ex-Agent Lundy though. RIP best serial killer hunter.
Dex now must get all the info that Lundy and Deb have gathered and go after Trinity himself.
Just an aside. this episode, though ultimately tragic, was so funny! Perfect darkly funny Dex the guy/Dexter the show. It may have been the funniest Dex ever--at least as funny as the funniest. I laughed out loud numerous times, it was just so well- scripted and played by it's always-stellar cast. (Have one tiny quibble about one newer member but won't go there, atm. Wish he had been Deb's companion instead of Lundy and no, of course, it's not Anton.)

Recent events spur Dexter into his own investigation of the Trinity
killer. His motivations are now personal, and the clock is ticking. But
the closer Dexter gets, the more he realizes that Trinity is unlike any
monster he's previously encountered. Meanwhile, Debra blames herself
for events that were out of her control, and in so doing pushes away
those closest to her. As LaGuerta and Batista close in on the Vacation
Murderers, Batista realizes he can use Quinn's relationship with a
certain reporter to his advantage. And when Rita discovers a secret
Dexter's been keeping from her, she begins to realize just how little
she knows about the man she married.

"Dex Take A Holiday" (10.18.09)
On this week's episode of Dexter, Rita and the kids take a trip and
leave Dexter home alone to plot his next kill. Lundy and Deb are hot on
the trail of Trinity, who selects his next victim. And Dexter's
department is feeling a lot of heat after Quinn's reporter girlfriend
writes a story calling the department out for chasing a "theory" about
Trinity instead of focusing on the Vacation Murderer.
(TVGuide.com)
Rita takes the kids out of town for the weekend, leaving Dexter time
for some much needed R&R. And for him, that means stalking a new
victim. He sets his sights on a woman accused of murdering her family -
a fellow cop, no less. The more Dexter learns about this woman, the
more he begins to question his own judgment. Can Dexter handle the
pressures of family, or is he headed down a similar dark path?
Meanwhile, LaGuerta and Batista argue over department protocol, which
threatens their professional relationship. And Debra aids Lundy in his
quest to find the Trinity Killer, neither of them realizing just how
close Trinity is to achieving his goals.

To my and I'm sure your great delight the cast of True Blood were all winners last night at the Spike TV Scream Awards - 2009. Read on:
HBO's "True Blood" was a four-time winner, taking honors for best TV show, along with best villain for Alexander Skarsgard and best horror actor and actress for co-stars and real-life couple Steven Moyer and Anna Paquin.
OMG! That is so awesome! And doesn't this make you feel you just a tiny bit better to see them all on stage together basking in the love that the live audience is smothering them with not to mention all of us out here who voted and had all kinds of fingers and toes and other appendages crossed that they would win?
Be sure to click the thumbnails to enlarge the photos which are credited just below. Remember, even though the show was not telecast in the US (bummer, right?) we will still see it when it is broadcast on October 27 on Spike TV (check your local listings)! Also, be sure to check back here then as I'll be searching out the 'nets for any bits of info. I can gather and will (of course) watch the show and give it another well-deserved write up after it airs! Squee!

LOS ANGELES – A larger-than-life snowglobe filled with murderous little girls, a "Battlestar Gallactica" spaceship and comic-book legend Stan Lee flying overhead on a bouquet of giant balloons — just a few signs that Spike TV's "Scream 2009" is different from other awards shows.
The star-studded event, held Saturday at the Greek Theatre, honors the best in sci-fi, horror, fantasy and comic-inspired movies and TV shows.
Fans voted online for the winners, so some of the year's most popular programs and big box-office hits took home trophies, including "Transformers," "Twilight," "True Blood" and "Star Trek." Stars of those properties and other surprise guests appeared throughout the 3 1/2-hour ceremony...
HBO's "True Blood" was a four-time winner, taking honors for best TV show, along with best villain for Alexander Skarsgard and best horror actor and actress for co-stars and real-life couple Steven Moyer and Anna Paquin.... Since the ceremony wasn't televised live, stars were free to use four-letter words — and Tarantino, Woody Harrelson and "True Blood" creator Alan Ball did. "Scream 2009" will be edited into a two-hour special set to air on Oct. 27...
Hundreds of fans dressed as vampires, zombies, mummies and monsters filled the seats inside the amphitheater. "Scream" is their show, said executive producer Casey Patterson.
"It's fun because of the fans. You couldn't point to a group more passionate, more invested, or more deserving," she said, noting that sci-fi, horror and fantasy films are often overlooked at other awards shows. "These fans have waited a long time to see their heroes honored."
Deborah Ann Woll thanks her fans for their support. Video thanks to Shadaliza!
I realize that she is a grown woman and a "baby vamp" due only to how recently she was turned but Deborah Ann Woll is just the sweetest thing evar. I've seen her interviewed a number of times and she is so authentic and down to earth--and stunningly beautiful. Just a wonderfully talented and charming young woman. A while back (previously to when we met her on True Blood) Deborah Ann Woll released another video where she shows (in a very tasteful way) her incredibly sexy side. There's a link to it in the sidebar but I'm reposting it so you can see a little bit more of Deborah Ann.

Gemma shows Tara how an old lady handles her anger.
I just loved this week's episode especially I admit, the scene with Gemma and Tara bonding outside the pr0n club. Tara has become aware that some major sh*t is going on involving the skinheads and the evil Zobelle--she's already aware of Gemma's having been gang-raped by skinheads under Zobelle's direction so she accepts Gemma's offer of a new handgun and some target practice. The target, in a really amusing sequence turns out to be the pr0n actress who had been so rude to Tara and had hit hard on Jax.
It seems the tired comparisons to "Thelma and Louise" are being resurrected to describe this scene, however Gemma is not Thelma nor Louise with their false bravado and new-found brass balls. She's been much more of a badass for most of her life and and I that suspect that beneath her doctor's veneer of professionalism Tara is, too. Falx Celebri is my favourite Episode of Season 2 so far, not the least of which is because it was so freaking funny. It finished with Zobelle again pwning the SoA and it appears now that he has well and truly screwed them. You must watch this episode.

And hey, while were at it, let's get all the Vampire Bill(Stephen Moyer) and Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) haters on board, too!
Just went through all the news notes about Academy Award and Golden Globe-winning actress Anna Paquin and her brother Andrew Paquin teaming up to make a thriller called Open House. What many scribes seem to take issue with is that Anna's real-life fiance Stephen Moyer, her co-star in the HBO hit series, True Blood will also co-star with her.
The plot of the film, currently listed for release in 2010, is about a couple who discover that days after an open house one
potential buyer of their luxurious home never left. Creepy!
Andrew Paquin with whom Anna owns a production company, most recently produced the romantic comedy New in Town with Renee Zellwegger. This will be his first shot at directing. Nice of his sis and future brother-in-law to get on board. Also acting in this project are Tricia Helfer (Six on Battlestar Galactica), Rachel Blanchard, Brian Geraghty, Jessica Collins, Larry Sullivan, and Gabriel Olds.
True Blood executive producer Alan Ball revealed recently that though the two romantic leads in True Blood, Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer, ostensibly kept their romance a secret until the end of filming True Blood's first season, Ball became aware of their intense attraction and suspected they had a thang goin' on off-set much sooner than that. He admits to having an "Oh-oh!" moment when the stars finally fessed up--by that point they were living together. He fretted that if they had a spat what would become of Sookie and Bill? He went on to say that he's since realized that they are a solid couple, he thinks their chemistry is amazing, and he's really happy for them both. Aww.

Gosh, it must be hell to be a network exec at FOX--at least according to scheduling chief Preston
Beckman. Appended to his statement that FOX will air the first 13 Season 2 Dollhouse episodes and his implication that FOX will not order the back 9 shows, he followed up by saying,
"If
you cancel it, you're an asshole; if you renew it and then don't put it
back on, you're an asshole," he said. "I'm still paying for
'Terminator.' 'Dollhouse' has a small rabid fan base that in the world
of social media seems bigger than it is. We gave them another season
knowing full well we were going to burn in hell if we pulled it."
Love, love, love the guest cast that accompanies Summer. Read on. I think you'll agree!
(Hey, Joss Whedon. Um, what's with the closed and open doors metaphors? They've grown a bit stale--especially for a creative genius such as you. Just sayin'.)

"Dollhouse" fans breathe easier: Fox will air all 13 episodes.
On
the heels of healthy DVR data for the "Dollhouse" premiere, network
executives say they will run each produced hour of the show's current
order despite the Friday drama's modest overall ratings.
"We're
going to run all the episodes," said Fox scheduling chief Preston
Beckman. "We're not saying we're happy with those numbers, or accept
them, but we don't have to overreact. During [November] sweeps we might
have to jack up the numbers a little [with other programming], but we
plan on completing the order for this show."
As for ordering additional episodes, or a third season, Fox says they will make that decision after the current run.
The
news represents a relief to "Dollhouse" fans that the current season
won't be cut short, yet also suggests a full-season order is unlikely.
Waiting until all 13 episodes have aired before making a decision
generally means allowing production on the show to shut down for the
season.
Reached by phone, Joss Whedon (who has a
terrible-sounding cold -- feel better!) said he's writing the 13th hour
to give fans a degree of closure.
"We'll definitely have
closure, but will leave some doors open," said Whedon, who's currently
shooting the eighth episode. "When we got our first numbers, which were
bad, the first thing [Fox president of entertainment] Kevin Reilly said
was, 'You'll have all 13,' which was great. They're not going to pull
the rug out from under us."
Beckman said DVR results have played a role in the show's fate, though wasn't surprised by today's results.
"It's
one of the reasons that we brought it back; we knew it was DVR
friendly," Beckman said. "We expected to see this and hopefully we'll
see [the overnight ratings] increase from week to week ... with some
shows, you have to look at the bigger picture."
Beckman also
humorously characterized deciding the show's fate as a bit of no-win
situation when it comes to dealing with Whedon's passionate fans. "If
you cancel it, you're an asshole; if you renew it and then don't put it
back on, you're an asshole," he said. "I'm still paying for
'Terminator.' 'Dollhouse' has a small rabid fan base that in the world
of social media seems bigger than it is. We gave them another season
knowing full well we were going to burn in hell if we pulled it."
The Toy Story franchise keeps chugging along with this third installment, Toy Story 3 (D). Disney has pronounced 3D as the format that they intend to heavily incorporate into their future endeavors and the future is now.
Frankly, I have not seen a single modern-day 3-D feature film that really benefited from being 3-D. The 3-D is usually so spotty that if you blink you miss it.
Contrast that with the amazing Muppets 3-D show at Disneyland in which being a member of the audience gives one the feeling of being pulled right into the show and the differences become even more striking. I'm still waiting for a 3-D film to wow me as much as the first one I ever saw, "Vincent Price's House of Wax."

It's hard enough for Dexter to fake one-on-one relationships. Now he
finds himself at the center of a bustling suburban community. When a
local vandal begins stirring up trouble, the neighborhood becomes
vigilant and wary, two things Dexter certainly doesn't need. His
mobility is also hampered by Rita, who insists on driving him around
after his incident. Dexter's not the only one feeling trapped - Debra
is less than thrilled when Anton announces he's taken a local job to
spend more time with her. Meanwhile, the Trinity Killer dispatches his
next victim. Debra becomes drawn to Lundy's theories about Trinity,
while Dexter finds himself in awe of Trinity's masterful killing
technique. Despite their enthusiasm, LaGuerta threatens to shut down
the investigation, instead focused on bringing the Vacation Murderers
to justice.
I liked this episode. We are getting hints about what motivates the Trinity Killer though it's no shock that family issues seem to be fueling his urge to kill. One could argue that he's torturing his victims as well as he has spent considerable time "prepping" them for the kill.
Dexter is going to have to watch that gleam in his eye as he admires Trinity's 'style," especially at crime scenes where everyone is keeping a sharp eye. Though Masuka could and does get away with being completely inappropriate, Dexter coming off that way would, as his dead daddy keeps reminding him, arouse suspicion.
I get the feeling that between reading of next weeks logline (below, episode #4) and the description of how Trinity picks his mommy victims that we are being groomed to worry about Rita being a potential victim as she fits the profile perfectly. This is harsh but I would not miss her at all.
Batista and LaGuerta (Lauren Velez) had a bit more of screen time as a couple. I'm not sure exactly what she sees in him though certainly David Zayas as an actor is appealing. As expected, they are hitting some big bumps in the road. If I were the betting type I'd wager that this relationship does not last the season. Speaking of relationships not lasting, did Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) cool to Anton (David Ramsey) practically minutes after he moved home from being on the road or what? Frank Lundy has definitely got her attention and not only because they are both driven to find Trinity. I really enjoy Keith Carradine's work so I hope he is not the one killed when SPOILER!!! Deb gets shot.Be sure to vote on your guess about who you think is going to be killed when Deb gets shot.

more he begins to question his own judgment. Can Dexter handle the
pressures of family, or is he headed down a similar dark path?
Meanwhile, LaGuerta and Batista argue over department protocol, which

To sum up about two shows that I have little-to-nothing invested in.
Friday nights one must now decide to watch either Dollhouse on FOX live or Stargate Universe (SGU) on SyFy. It was a no-brainer for me. I stillhaven't watched Dollhouse because when I think about it, I think "bleh."
OTOH, though I won't lie and say I was totally jazzed at the prospect of watching SGU - 'Air,' Part 3 (the 3rd installment of the premiere) I was interested enough. It was good, not great but good enough to continue with the next episode. There was character development, mystery, danger. All they need to do is get a muzzle for Eli because they have one annoying character on their hands with this young 20-something slacker whiz-kid.

My fear is that there will not be a Dollhouse by the time they get around to airing the Summer Glau three-episode arc. It will be a miracle if they do get aired as that would be in direct conflict with all the signs pointing to imminent cancellation--the terribly low ratings and the ever-louder rumblings from those in the know that Dollhouse's Friday-night death-slot ratings are pulling FOX's overall ratings down.
Such a waste it will be if Summer's episodes never get aired! --Cyn
"Dollhouse," which is gunning heavily to be removed from Fox's lineup far earlier than expected, earned a 1.4 rating/3 share, according to Fast National ratings from The Nielsen Co. It basically matches the audience the show received last week, and was Fox's lowest-rated show ... period.
The Joss Whedon drama starring Eliza Dushku actually finished with the same-sized audience as "Smallville" in the 8 p.m. hour on The CW, also picking up a 1.4/3, marking that show's lowest ratings ever. Both shows are two of the lowest-rated on television, besting only "Melrose Place" on The CW.

The UK finally gets in on the True Blood phenom! A whole new-to-them season of True Blood to cozy up with until the end of the year! Jealous! (October 08, 2009)
True Blood Interview - Stephen Moyer - Part 1
"Part 1 of our interview with actor Stephen Moyer, aka Vampire Bill, from the hit series True Blood. He tells Mirror.co.uk of becoming a star, working alongside his fiancee on set and hitting the big four O!"
..." regarding the Dexter "main character" death...I know that someone VERY
CLOSE to both Dexter and Michael C Hall (could it be more obvious?)
will be shot. But it's actually the person she is with at the time who
will be the goner. He's a character who returned this season..."
So obviously Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) who is both Dexter's (Michael C. Hall) sister on the show and his wife off-camera, is going to be shot. The question is, who will the person she'll be with that is going to bite it?
According to E!, one of the people in this album is going to bite it in episode nine, "blood and brain matter dead."
Brace yourselves, Samcro fans, because in an upcoming episode of FX's ultragritty family drama Sons of Anarchy, someone close to the club gets dead. Majorly dead. Blood and brain matter dead. And when you learn who it is, your heart is going to break a little.
So is it Chibs (Tommy Flanagan), who just took a car bomb to the head...or could there be someone else on the chopping block? Read on for the clues we can share, plus more scoop from the cast!
Spoilers: Spoiler Alert!
The good news is the death ain't Chibs.
The bad news is that it's somebody else about whom the club cares deeply.
The terrible deed is done in episode nine, entitled "Potlatch," and it involves a character known and loved since season one. Another clue? This killing doesn't have a clear analogue in Shakespeare's play Hamlet, which many fans know sets up the general superstructure of the series.
This sucks or blows, whichever, since he's supposed to only last a bit longer with his terminal cancer. I'm gonna guess one of the characters that has grown on me the most and who I'll really miss, Dayton Callie as Police Chief Uncer.

It's hard not to want to see Zobelle get his due. Adam Arkin has nailed "smarmy" perfectly.
Tara's question to Jax,"Are you in danger?" sounds pretty darn naive considering that in fact Jax is always in danger--though she seems to smarten up within the same breathe continuing, "Am I?"
I became aware of True Blood prior to it's premiere and based on Alan Ball's involvement as True Blood's showrunner and Anna Paquin's lead as Sookie Stackhouse--and to a lesser extent the subject matter, I tuned in from the beginning.
If I'd worn socks they'd have been knocked off.
Anna Paquin recently chatted with Telegraph.co.uk about True Blood which, it seems, is just making it's debut in the UK.
The interviewer took the opportunity to ask many personal questions that Anna has been asked probably a thousand times before though there are some interesting tidbits like the fact that she owns a Louisiana Catahoula leopard puppy.
What I found really interesting is that though I only recalled her from the X-Men movies and The Piano, for which she won an Academy award at the age of 11, she's been in a number of really great films that I count among my favourites.
Why didn't I realize before that it was Anna?
The obvious answer would be because she was a child growing up and her appearance was literally changing. But it goes deeper than that, I think. Anna has a rare quality in that she seems to become her characters so completely that you completely forget she's Anna Paquin. I have to surmise that it is a natural talent as she earned the Oscar after having acted on film for the first time. Regardless, I'm glad I read the article* because while True Blood is on hiatus, I can go back and enjoy the many performances that Anna has already given in her young life. Though her talent may come naturally, she continues to grow as an actor, already amassing an impressive body of work.
I've heard over the years of a select few actors compared with the sublime Meryl Streep. I think that Anna Pacquin is of the caliber of Ms. Streep and I look forward to not only more True Blood but to following her career in the coming years. This time though, I'll be sure to pay closer attention so when Anna morphs into her next role I'll know to follow along.
*The article linked above does touch on a few of her standout performances but it misses a number, too. I've included a handful of film clips and trailers to fill out the list as Anna has 25 feature films thus far. Also, don't forget to watch her MCI commercial (video). Anna as a little girl was just the cutest, most engaging little girl evar.

Anna Paquin won a best supporting actress Oscar for her role in the 1993 film "The Piano." At the time, Paquin was just 11 years old.

Anna was nine years old when she first became famous for her role as Flora in The Piano, and 11 as she stood smiling and gasping in silence for a full 20 seconds at the podium to receive her Oscar for it. Be sure to watch the video. She is adorable.
In the HBO hit True Blood, Anna at 27, has morphed into the telepathic barmaid SookieStackhouse. She runs around in tiny, tight outfits and has bleached blonde hair and a lot of steamy sex with a vampire named Bill.
For her work on True Blood Anna earned a Golden Globe (2009) for best actress in a television drama. It is now HBO’s third most popular series, after The Sopranos and Sex and the City. With the expected reactions from the tabloids and the paparatzi in August, 2009 Anna got engaged to Vampire Bill Compton, Stephen Moyer. He is 40, she is 27 and they divide their time between his house near Hampstead and hers in Venice Beach, CA.
About all the nudity, sex and blood on True Blood:
'Oh, it’s a really full-on sexy show,’ Paquin agrees easily, taking a sip of latte and fixing me with brown boot-button eyes. We are at Café Rouge in Highgate, north London. 'Lots of weird, kinky vampire sex and weird, kinky mortal sex! It never put me off. I guess either you read something and go, “Oh, my God, no!” or you read something and you go, “That’s sort of cool!” I mean, the sex is very romantic, and at first it’s very loving.’
A Walk on the Moon
About her feelings about her acting on True Blood with fiance Stephen Moyer playing her paramour, Vampire Bill Compton:
'It is kind of disturbing, but so is putting yourself out there as far as relationships or friendships goes. It is scary and sometimes you are taking a risk. If you aren’t prepared to do that you’re going to have very safe options in your life, but they won’t be the most exciting ones.’
Almost Famous - "Acts"
About her True Blood character, SookieStackhouse:
"...she’s supposed to have blue eyes, but contact lenses would be a nightmare. She was meant to be tanned so they spray-tanned me, gave me a really good bra, some little tiny outfits, and away we go! The blonde just feels normal now. And the spray tan I still kind of really love, having been one of the palest pale girls on the planet.’
She once remarked that she wanted to stop being 'a transient figure in my own life’, and with the engagement to Moyer she seems to have broken out of the work spiral that has dominated her existence since she tagged along after her sister to the open audition Jane Campion was holding in New Zealand for The Piano.

About how her sudden stardom has effected her everyday routines:
She has attended Columbia University (she only stayed a year, because she kept going off to make films), lived in New York and bought her own house in Venice Beach, Los Angeles. Today she is the proud owner of two rescue dogs, a border collie/springer spaniel cross called Splash and a Louisiana Catahoula leopard puppy – 'I swear to God that’s a real breed’ – called Banjo.
But having resolutely steered clear of film-industry parties and the red carpet she was horrified to find herself pounced on by paparazzi when she set off to walk her dogs the day after her engagement was announced. 'I’d barely changed out of my pyjamas and it was eight in the morning and about 40 photographers jumped out of the hedge,’ she says in her faint New Zealand accent. 'It was sort of creepy.’ She shakes her blonde ponytail in wonder. 'I was like, “You guys are going to get so bored. I ride my bike to my pilates class. I walk my dogs. I ride my bike to meet friends for coffee. I walk my dogs. I’d neither showered nor brushed my hair the morning they leaped out of the bushes, not that I’m massively into hair-brushing, anyway. Neither of us are used to it, so it’s a bit odd.’
About Stephen Moyer, her co-star on True Blood as Vampire Bill Compton and to whom she's engaged:
He’s lovely. He’s very funny. I’m definitely not on any level attracted to people who don’t have a good sense of humour. That’s how you get through the ups and the downs.’ She doesn’t seem to want to talk about Moyer, but says they clicked at once. 'The dynamic between Bill and Sookie being what it is, the fascination and attraction made it kind of hard to pinpoint where it ceased to be fiction, because that’s how we’ve always been around each other. But there was no massive revelation moment of, “Wow I fancy you.”’
About her engagement:
...Is she planning the wedding? 'No!’ she cries. But she holds out her hand to show me a lovely antique-looking ring with a round central stone. 'No, I’m not really that girl; we’re not really that couple. We’re happy and things are good and we’re not on any particular schedule and it’ll happen when we have time. The scheduling factor – my family’s all in New Zealand, his family’s all here…I don’t even know. Not right now.’It’s more about being family than becoming Bridezilla overnight and wearing some big meringue wedding dress. That would scare the shit out of me.’ She gives a shrug. 'I wasn’t the girl who spent hours dreaming of my wedding.’
E! Online asked the question today: Are Dexter and Rita headed for divorce?
The query came on the heels of actress Roma Maffia's (Nip/Tuck) comments about her just-completed role that she said, "could be a recurring character on Dexter."
After repeated inquiries, the actress pretty much spilled the beans: Dexter and Rita unsurprisingly, are headed to marital counselling.
Ms. Maffia of course, is optimistic that her role will be expanded to recurring.
I've not ever seen her work and no offence, but I'd love to see the Dexter-Rita pairing go kaput.
As I've nit-picked before, I hate the Rita character. Rita is clingy and controlling and certainly she is in the way of Dexter's serial killing duties. Why was she not on the pill when she and Dex were enjoying premartial sex? It seemed pretty obvious then that she was looking to reign him into marriage the tried and true way: Trick him! Why blame Rita? Because Dex was practically a virgin when she got her hooks into him and his understanding of the female sex was minimal, at best.
So yeah, I haven't forgiven her for that and really, Dexter was not meant to be a family guy while being compelled to go out after hours and kill other killers.
I'm pretty certain though that Rita will cling to Dexter like a life raft and he will have to leave her to get away from her. She's a meddler too, so every day he spends sharing a home with her he's a bit closer to having his Dark Passenger discovered.
I'd be OK with the eventual killing off of Rita (not by Dexter, of course. Maybe one of his intended criminal victims that gets away and tracks him down via the family) and having Rita's mom (Jo Beth Williams who does a pretty good impression of "creepy" herself) could then take custody of the kids, giving Dexter a chance to finally exhale. Grandma and kids could stay in suburbia and Dex could go back to his secret apartment on the water.
Roma Maffia
E! went on to say that they contacted a Showtime representative who confirmed that "Roma's role is a marriage counselor/couples therapist who's helping Dexter and Rita adjust to their new suburban family life."
Those E! people are so negative because getting help for your marriage does not spell divorce.

Does a slavish Battlestar Galactica fan have to explain why she'd put up a video of Tahmoh talking about his current endeavour: Former Agent Paul Ballard on FOX's Dollhouse?
I didn't think so.
I would love to see him in a scene with Summer Glau. Wonder if Joss Whedon can bring them together during Summer's three-episode arc which hopefully, is not slated to be part of the back nine?
It seems Stargate Universe did not quite live up to the SyFy network's expectations (see text below) but since the pilot has not even finished airing I'm willing to give it another view.
I loved the film, "Stargate" but I could not stand Richard Dean Anderson in Stargate on SciFi (though I loved him deeply as MacGyver-- my 6 y.o. son and I never missed an episode and I kept watching even after my son stopped). Through the years I've tried to get interested in the Stargates but a number of the lead characters were not compelling enough for me to keep a weekly appointment to watch. Why watch now? I suppose simply to give the franchise another look see. Casting on any show I devote time to is crucial to my enjoyment of it. I'd like to see if I can warm up to these characters.

I have to give Joss Whedon credit. On Dollhouse's second installment of season two, "Instinct," he created something I have never seen on television before. Topher reached a new plateau in imprinting technology--he can now tell the brain how to affect the body.
After enduring Topher crowing about his own "genius" in creating a program that affected Echo with such a profound power that she was physically changed, we come to find out that the physical change was--lactation.
Topher earned a punch in the nose however as his "genius" tech breakthrough had an unanticipated side effect. Though Echo's body's reacted just the way her brain was wired to, even after getting wiped, feelings remained, with instinct picking up from there and taking programming's place.
The most cringe-worthy scene besides just about any scene with Topher, came when the wiped-but-still-ragingly maternal Echo tried to steal "her" baby back. She greets her "husband in a darkened room with the baby in one hand and a large knife in the other, then does her best impression of Jack Nicholson in "The Shining" -- "Mommy's home." That was just bad. No one should make Dushku try to act with that degree of difficulty because she simply cannot do it.
I thought this episode was better than last week's season 2 premiere but it was nothing special beyond Topher's trick. I didn't hate it as I have a number of Dollhouse episodes but that's damning it with faint praise, is it not?
