Can You Spot Any Clues in This Dexter Season 8 BTS Photo Set?
Dexter Season 8 behind-the-scenes Miami Metro (Cr: Showtime)
Above is a lovely set of HQ photos of the DexterMiami Metro set.
So what, if anything, can we gather as clues about Dexter's 8th and final season from these images?
Besides that the lights are on and no one appears to be home, we can see that Dexter has filmed at least through episode 806--halfway to the finish line! Also, we know that John Dahl is directing epsiode 806, which is titled 'A Little Reflection' and will air on Showtime on August 4, 2013.
Additionally, Dexter episode 806 was written by James Manos, Jr., who has worked in different capacities on both The Sopranos and The Shield as well as previously on Dexter.
According to IMDb, Dexter episode 806 has a guest cast that includes Dora Madison Burge as 'Niki',
Sean Patrick Flanery as 'Jacob Elroy',
Bethany Joy Lenz as 'Cassie',
Charlotte Rampling as Dr. Evelyn Vogel,
Yvonne Strahovski as Hannah McKay and
Jadon Wells as Dexter's newly cast son, Harrison Morgan.
And--that's all I've got. Feel free to drop a comment with your interpretation of this photo set!
Update:
Dexter - Casting News - Kenny Johnson get Multi-Episode Arc
Kenny Johnson (The Shield, Sons of Anarchy) is joining Dexter‘s upcoming eighth and final season in a multi-episode arc, TVLine has learned exclusively. Johnson will play U.S. Marshall Cooper, a no-nonsense and formidable lawman who is hired by P.I. Jacob Elway (recurring guest star Sean Patrick Flanery) to hunt down an infamous criminal.
A Former True Blood Cast Member Is Reprising Her Role
Anna Camp as Sarah Newlin on True Blood (Cr: HBO)
Since the former Rev. Steve Newlin (Michael McMillian) returned to the show--as a vampire no less--True Blood fans have occassionally asked: Where is the former Mrs. Newlin? Now we know:
TVLine has learned exclusively that Anna Camp has signed on to reprise
her role as 'anti-vamp puritan,' Sarah Newlin for a guest stint.
In addition to playing Mindy's best friend on "The Mindy Project,"
Camp has also appeared on episodes of "Mad Men" and "The Good Wife" and
she starred in the hit films "Pitch Perfect" and "The Help."

On the set of Killer Women - Michael Trucco and Tricia Helfer are a brother and sister where her character, 'Molly' is a Texas Ranger (CR: Tricia Helfer/Twitter/ABC)
Michael Trucco & Tricia Helfer in 'Killer Women' pilot day 1, Texas
I think this is inspired casting! After all they were siblings (of a nature) once before. More importantly, Trucco & Helfer are biker buddies/friends offscreen; they have a connection that other actors wouldn't have. And lets face it: They are both gorgeous. I wish they'd let them smile more on BSG. Hopefully they will more in their new show!/end fangirling
(Update 3.11.13)
Before she jetted to a month-long acting gig in Texas for the pilot for Killer Women, Tricia Helfer went over her script while catching some California sunshine.
I hope this is a good show as I like Trucco and Helfer (obviously). Not aware of the rest of the cast. Hope it is good and gets a decent run.
ABC’s Killer Womenwill host a killer Battlestar Galactica reunion, now that Michael Trucco has boarded the Tricia Helfer-fronted drama pilot.
Based on the Argentine series Mujeres Asesinas, the project follows Molly Parker, the only woman among the notoriously male Texas Rangers. Described as a ballsy, beautiful badass, Molly knows how to get to the truth and isn’t afraid to ruffle a few feathers to do so.
Trucco will play Molly’s older brother, Billy, who is married to her BFF Nessa (played by Marta Milans). The actor’s recent TV credits include arcs on Revenge, How I Met Your Mother and Castle, and a co-starring role on USA Network’s Fairly Legal.
Also new to the Killer Women ensemble, which also previously cast Mark Blucas (Necessary Roughness), is Alex Fernandez (Commander in Chief), playing Molly’s coworker Luis.
Jennifer Carpenter's Twitter is an excellent Dexter News Source!
Deb's (Jennifer Carpenter) new ride on Dexter season 8 (June 2013)
I realized just prior to the beginning of Dexter season 7 that the actor that plays Dexter's sister Deb, Jennifer Carpenter (Twitter name: @J2thecarpenter), is an excellent source of behind-the-scenes information about Showtime's Dexter, which as you probably know is returning this JUNE(!)
Dexter season 8 first read through Tweet
Unlike some celebrities that Tweet photos of their latest meal (or bowel movement), Carpenter Tweets really interesting stuff without giving away anything that would imperil her job. When she's not filming Dexter, she sends out some very funny stuff as well, often with attached photos. So let's look at some of the latest Tweets from 'Deb' to learn what's up with "Dexter" which returned to filming what is probably it's final season on February 11, 2013.
'Are you shitfuckingkidding me?' - JC
Yes, offscreen Carpenter talks much like her onscreen character (in her Tweets, at least).
Nick Gomez signs on for Dexter season 8 in a recurrring role
Finally, as SpoilerTV reported, Nick Gomez (@Nicksgomez) has signed on as a recurring player in Dexter season 8.

The scene that follows this one is hilarious if not a bit shocking.
Quite a kerfuffle occurs after Jimmy's dad (Harry Hamlin) mistakes one Gallagher sib for another and someone is really displeased. Just a typical night at the Gallagher's, right?

Damian Lewis as 'Brody' in Homeland - Episode 205 on Showtime Sunday Oct 28 (Credit: Showtime)
As David Harewood, who plays David Estes in HOMELAND succinctly puts it in the 'Debrief' video extra below, '(Homeland) is a show where you never know what is going to happen next.'
If you saw last week's crazy-great episode you know exactly what he's talking about (and I so agree with him!)
As soon as an episode becomes available I jump right on it. Homeland is literally my very favourite show on television right now.
Homeland : Debrief: New Car Smell (VIDEO):
The cast discuss the climatic ending of episode 4.
I cannot recall the last time a television show--a political thriller at that, literally made me gasp in shock at what transpired onscreen. And I'm not talking the mind-bending capture of Brody at the end of the last episode. Oh no, there is so much more to come and yet as Morena Baccarin ('Jessica') says in the "debrief' video, "You think to yourself, if Brody gets taken down it's the end of the show--but of course, it's not--it sets up episode 5 and we get to see what happens when Brody is taken in and which way he's gonna go.'
So what do you think is going to happen to Brody? Will he cooperate? Will he break? Will the CIA use as brutal tactics as Abu Nazir did when he captured Brody? So many questions!
This Sunday's episode of HOMELAND is called Q & A. Here's the synopsis as well as links to two enticing sneak peeks--or if you prefer, just after the jump I've embedded the sneak peeks right here in this post. Enjoy!

Brody finds himself prisoner again, but this time it’s on American
soil. Meanwhile, Carrie is forced to play second fiddle after her rash
judgment call at the hotel, as Estes is busy sweeping the tracks clean
to keep Jessica off their trail. And Dana’s relationship with Finn is
taken to the next level from fun to deadly serious. (Credit: Showtime)
Lena Headey in costume as 'Cersei Lannister' on the Dubrovnik set of Game Of Thrones season 3 , Sept 26, 2012
Game Of Thrones fans, we have some very enticing on-set photos taken in Dubrovnik on the first day of filming with in-costume shots of Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage--including a close up of 'Tyrion's' facial scars, and others you will recognize (or not, in the case of the kid who plays "Pod" who has grown since we last saw him!).
We still must wait until 2013 before the lauded HBO series based on the 'A Song of Ice and Fire' book series by George R.R. Martin returns, but these snaps and hopefully, many more photos, videos and interviews will in the meantime, keep our GoT hunger somewhat sated.
Filming began today at the fort of St. Lawrence in Dubrovnik and several photos were taken by the Croatian press of the cast as they arrived. Lena Headey ('Queen Cersei'), Peter Dinklage ('Tyrion Lannister'), Aidan Gillen ('Littlefinger'), Jerome Flynn (Bronn), and Daniel Portman ('Podrick Paine') were all spotted. The fort was previously used in season two, for Joffrey’s name-day celebration, for the location where the nobles took refuge after the riot, and for Cersei and Littlefinger’s heated exchange about the nature of power.
Anna Paquin, who plays Sookie Stackhouse on HBO's True Blood will return but only for 10 episodes in season 6 after the anticipated birth of twins in November 2012 (Credit: Pacific Coast News)
As we have been wondering due to two separate MAJOR changes at HBO's True Blood--that of showrunner-creator Alan Ball stepping down and True Blood star Anna Paquin stepping up, so-to speak, to the role of mama of two newborns what exactly should we be expecting/bracing ourselves for, in True Blood season 6? Now thanks to TVGuide, we know. There's both good and bad news. Read on.
TV Guide Magazine: Will Anna Paquin be back full time right away after the birth of her twins in November?
Ball: She is. We're moving production to January to accommodate her. And there will only be 10 shows next season partly because of Anna and partly because of the economics.

Stephen Moyer as 'Bill' in True Blood on HBO
Seems to me that the body count is going to continue to climb at a fast clip as True Blood winds up it's 5th and final season with Alan Ball as showrunner. Season 5 has been a pretty wild ride with much of the Vampire Authority succumbing to political agendas and power plays, culminating in the true death. Former Bon Temps Sheriff Bud Dearborne (William Sanderson) and Terry's Iraq war buddy, Patrick (Scott Foley) bit it tonight. How many more dead bodies are in store for us in season 5? Three more episodes. I'll call an even dozen, including a main character.

Alexander Skarsgård as Eric in True Blood - episode #56 'Someone I Used To Know' (Credit: HBO)
Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) was in the midst of a blood frenzy with the rest of the vampires in a bar on Bourbon Street when his and Nora's (Lucy Griffiths) deceased maker,'Godric,' made an appearance and called him out as doing 'wrong.' Godric instructed Eric to reign in his sister in as though Eric knew better (than to go on a feeding frenzy), Nora did not. Unfortunately, all the other vampires are behaving as Nora, in a state of hallucinogenic blood-lust and they appear not to have any concerns about how many humans they consume. Even worse, Bill (Stephen Moyer) appears to genuinely be buying into their new openly-proclaimed 'Sanguinista' philosophy that humans are simply a food source for vampires.
True Blood Season 5: Episode 56 Clip - 'Glimmer of Hope' Sneak Peek (VIDEO):
True Blood Episode 5.08: Somebody That I Used to Know:
Despite some retconning on the part of True Blood writers regarding Sookie's faery heritage--she is now 'half Fae,' versus the 'one-eighth Fae' that she's been stated to be in the series up to this point, they would really have to pull a hat trick to have Bill be the vampire who attacked and killed Sookie's parents. Sookie is supposed to only be in her late 20's: her parents died about 20 years ago and Bill was shown in the 1980's already mainstreaming. The numbers just do not add up to be Bill nor does this guy look anything like Bill. This then, to have the story come full circle so to speak, is Russell--the vampire with the power to smell faery blood on a band-aid in closed car, in a driving rainstorm, from how many yards away?
True Blood Episode #56 'Somebody I Used To Know' - Extended Synopsis:
At Authority headquarters, the Chancellors revel in the afterglow of recent events; Eric gets a message from Godric; Bill is shaken by a distant memory. Helped by Claude and his sisters, Sookie and Jason visit the site of their parents' deaths, with shocking results. An emotional Luna tries to walk in Sam's shoes. Hoyt's new pals bring him a present; Lafayette leads a séance to purge a curse; J.D. ups the stakes of his fight with Alcide. Written by HBO Publicity

HBO has released summaries for the upcoming August episodes of True Blood!
And, these are not your garden-variety plot summaries--they are packed with SPOILERS!
For example, (I'll give you a small one) we are going to seeLois Smith again! If you recall, she was Sookie and Jason's irreplaceable 'Gran' who was killed off far too soon in the series' first season. I've long thought that the series would be richer with just a bit more human element to it. Gran was such a steadying force in Sookie and Jason's life. I think that they could have kept the crazy but given us some breathers in the form of Gran. And I simply adore Lois Smith. I'm so glad she's able to be featured in an upcoming season 5 episode of True Blood!
There are more spoilers ahead so proceed with caution (or if you are like me, just dive right in!)

Episode #57: “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”:

Andy (Chris Bauer) and Jason (Ryan Kwanten) search for leads to the identities of the people behind the shifter killings. Mary- Louise Parker as "Nancy" and Hunter Parrish as "Silas" in Weeds - Episode 8.03 on Showtime July 15
Though you have many compelling reasons to tune into WEEDS tonight on Showtime, one of the best ones begins before the show even starts!
As you have probably noted, in this new season something 'old' has been resurrected, specifically the song, 'Little Boxes' by Malvina Reynolds which became a cover phenomena many years ago (as in '40' years-ago) after tickling the whimsy of song-sters and inspiring countless renditions of the class-oriented ditty, some of which were played as the opening theme of the show.
In epsidoe 8.01, Malvina Reynolds' version was played over the opening sequence. Now, episode 8.03 features probably the most 'out there' cover of "Little Boxes,' ever! Stay tuned for tonight's closing credits and you'll see why--or you can just scroll down for a look at the quick screen grab I did while going "a-ha" simultaneously!
I LOL'ed. Weeds is awesome!
The answer to 'Who shot Nancy?' -- Shane figured it out first!
Weeds Season 8 Episode 3 Synopsis: “See Blue and Smell Cheese and Die”:
Nancy (MARY-LOUISE PARKER) and Silas (HUNTER PARRISH) chase after Shane (ALEXANDER GOULD), who has discovered the identity of Nancy’s shooter. Andy (JUSTIN KIRK) attempts to bond with Jill’s daughters via Roller Derby. Doug (KEVIN NEALON) and Whit (BRUCE NOZICK) come up with a new business plan.

Alexander Skarsgård as Eric, Stephen Moyer as Bill, and Denis O'Hare as Russell in True Blood Season 5, Episode 6, "Thank God, Russell Finally Showed Up!' (j/k) i True Blood (HBO)
Remember, earlier this season, True Blood's Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) were held captive & tortured by The Authority? When Authority 'chancellor' Salome (Valentina Cervi) was bullshitting reporting to leader Roman (Chris Meloni) her assessment of Eric and Bill as possible "Sanguinistas?"
Of Eric, Salome said that he had no allegiance but to (anyone but) himself. Of Bill, it was quite different: Though not Sanguinista, he had not made a choice, 'yet.' (paraphrase).
Of the tripe Salome periodically has fed Roman this was actually a pause in the shoveling of untruths/distortions. It was clear to us the audience, that she wanted both Eric and Bill alive (but for different reasons). Now that the thumbnail synopsis of the final episode of True Blood season 5 is out (scroll down) I'm going out on a limb and saying that Salome is a Sanguinista and by season's end, if he isn't yet, Bill will be, too. Obviously, Eric will not be.
I don't know if Alan Ball is going to do what everyone dared him not to--kill Bill---but it would surprise me not as the scuttlebutt was he got a semi-public tongue-lashing from the creator of the Sookie Stackhouse series, Charlaine Harris, who, years ago of course, sold her rights to Sookie to Alan/HBO. She has yet to wind up her Southern Gothic book series but apparently the blogosphere relates, Ball got wind of Harris's plan to kill 'book Bill' and he promptly spilled the info. That is not a great way to shock your Sookie Stackhouse readers so my current guess is that Charlaine had to scrap the killing of book Bill--but that does not preclude Ball, the departing show runner of True Blood (HBO), from killing off 'our' Bill, played by Stephen Moyer, as the show moves into it's 6th season.

Dexter speaks in voice-over about prostitute killings being low-priority police matters over a montage of a bloody slashing/slayings. In his job with Miami Metro as Dexter Morgan, blood-spatter analyst, he finds opportunity to look more closely at the case for clues. He finds a pattern to the location of the homicides ('a star') and decides to attempt an intervention before the next one occurs.
Dexter voice-over: 'The family that slays together, stays together' followed by a long, regretful shot at a puzzled-looking teenage Debra.
'The father', Dexter intones as he determines 'who' is driving the son to kill.'
Oh, the symbolism! Dexter didn't see it as it pertains to his own family back then. Will he though, in the present time, now that Deb knows of his Dark Passenger begin to understand the many pieces that went into the puzzle of what made Dexter Morgan a serial killer? Will Dexter's own little family stay together and if so, how?
My Dark Passenger Exposed (Dexter Spot) VIDEO:
Published on Jul 9, 2012 by SHOWTIME (VIDEO):
The following (borderline erotic) teasers feature the “siblings” writhing around separately (and suggestively) on a black bed, while Dexter’s signature voiceover ponders what’s to come. Will Deb learn to accept his true identity (“I found a way to live with my secret, but I never had a choice… Does she?”)? Or will he have to take deadly drastic measures to protect himself (“The only thing worse than not knowing what she’ll do is not knowing what I’ll do.”)?
These two promo clips for season 8 Dexter are disturbing on several levels, including erotic. It was said that they were gonna deal with the 'Deb is in love with her brother' story more in season 8 so...there you go. Shouldn't complicate a hugely complicated situation at all. I'm sure.
On second thought, it could be wound up pretty quickly via the oft-used trope of 'let's just do this' and get it over with--and then the sexual tension will be gone. That could end a lot of ways but there's one big hurdle, Dexter's high moral code would probably prevent him from doing Deb--ever. She sees him sexually, she thinks. He has never thought of her 'that way.' Given the stuff that went down in the season 6 finale and that on his best day, Dex is not exactly 'studly,' I doubt that sexual activity of any kind witll be on his 'to-do' list.
Dexter returns for season 7 Sunday, September 30 at 9 PM ET/PT.
What Happens Next? (Dexter Spot) VIDEO:
Of the two new Dexter Spots, "My Dark Passenger" and 'What Happens Next?', 'What Happens Next'could be anthems for both Dexter and Deb in season 7 DEXTER as they take stock of What Happened and What Are they Going To Do (about it). Meanwhile, I'm assuming that as much as it ever was--on steroids(!) it will have to be 'business as usual' for the sibs at Miami Metro. It's not like crime is going to just stop now that the serial murderer's, murderer has been discovered by Deb to be her bro, Dexter. But bonus(!) Dex helped Deb solve a case she didn't even know she had!
It's going to be a crazy mother-effing season 7 of a final 8 so there is very little to lose by taking risks with the writing. I think the season that begins Sept 30 on Showtime may be getting more far out in some ways than ever before. Why not? It could be fun! Very fun! Finish DEXTER and go out balls to the wall...with a question mark...

The 49-page spoiler-filled Dark Knight Rises document (link below to Deadline pdf)
Update 7.6.12: Forty-nine pages of The Dark Knight Rises production notes released!
The Dark Knight Rises marketing team inexplicably released 49 pages of production notes, dialogue and synopses to the public yesterday. (I blame the Comic-Con crazy media blizzard, OK not really but there had to be some reason.)
In it, they spell out the key plot points of the film, all the way up to detailing its finale.
Are you brave or curious enough to crack this PDF open?
Thanks to the folks at Deadline, we know this much about the bountiful The Dark Knight Rises spoilery extravaganza:
1. There are interviews with all the main actors included.
2. There are dialogue excerpts, many that have been shown in the clips that have previously been released.
3. The ending is (sort of) revealed in the synopsis.
I read for a number of pages then got really bored with the extended descriptions of exactly what material went into everyone's costumes and how they felt about said costumes that I began skimming so if the exact ending is relvealed, I didn't see it. Maybe thats what they were thinking. Comic-Con is ripping so much attention away from everything else pop culture that this little package will be largely be ignored.
"The Dark Knight Rises" in theaters July 20. Warner Bros. Pictures' and Legendary Pictures' "The Dark Knight Rises" is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy.
Leading an all-star international cast, Oscar(R) winner Christian Bale ("The Fighter") again plays the dual role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. The film also stars Anne Hathaway, as Selina Kyle; Tom Hardy, as Bane; Oscar(R) winner Marion Cotillard ("La Vie en Rose"), as Miranda Tate; and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, as John Blake.
Returning to the main cast, Oscar(R) winner Michael Caine ("The Cider House Rules") plays Alfred; Gary Oldman is Commissioner Gordon; and Oscar(R) winner Morgan Freeman ("Million Dollar Baby") reprises the role of Lucius Fox.

ANNA PAQUIN and STEPHEN MOYER stroll in LA on 06/09/2012 (PHOTO) Above:
The numbers were just not adding up! Specifically, how was it that Mrs. Steven Moyer's baby belly was growing so quickly when in April ANNA PAQUIN and STEPHEN MOYER confirmed a fall delivery date?! Doing the numbers, Paquin should have been about 3 months pregnant when announcing the long-away impending blessings(s) but when she showed up to both the White House Correspondent's Dinner on April 28, 2012 and attended the True Blood premiere event at the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood on May 30 and struck her traditional glam pose, many of us were perplexed as how the otherwise tiny Academy Award-winning actress had such an incredibly big tummy!
JULY 16 UPDATE:
Anna Paquin at the True Blood (HBO) wrap party (July 7, 2012)
JULY 16 UPDATE:
Stephen Moyer on having twins with Anna Paquin (JULY 16):
Now we know: TRUE BLOOD'S Sookie and Bill are having twins!
Stephen Moyer thinks having twins with Anna Paquin is going to be ''crazy.''
The 'True Blood' actor - who is married to his co-star - already has two children, Billy and Lilac, from previous relationships and the 42-year-old star anticipates that fathering duties are about to get dramatically more hectic.
He said: ''I love my kids beyond anything. They're the best things ever, and having two more is just going to be even more crazy, but that's cool!''
Moyer's 29-year-old wife has continued to record their vampire television series throughout her pregnancy.
The couple got married on August 21, 2010 and their hit series was recently renewed for a sixth season by HBO.
ANNA PAQUIN in Herve L. Laroux cutout gown) and STEVE MOYER attend the White House Correspondent's Dinner on April 28, 2012
After an insider confirmed that Paquin 29, and husband of nearly two years Moyer, 42, are expecting twins, costar Sam Trammell -- father to 11-month-old twins Winston and Gus with girlfriend Missy Yager -- shared with Us magazine recently when (they) chatted about the double baby news. "We sent them a special gift. It's so interesting that True Blood has become, like, the 'twins' show."
Sam Trammell with his partner of 8 years, Missy Yager, at the June 2011 True Blood premiere when Yager was 7-8 months pregnant with their twin boys (born August 9, 2011)
And though Moyer has two children, Lilac,10, and Billy, 12, from a previous relationship, he's been listening intently to Trammell's advice on the ins and outs of raising multiples.
"It's harder, having twins, but it's all we know. So we're trying to impart some decent wisdom," Trammell added. "I told them to hold on tight!"
But Moyer is up for the challenge. "It's always amazing," he told Zap2it in May of his wife's pregnancy. "I love my kids so much. And I think that the fact that Anna is pregnant just adds more crazy to the bundle of fun."
Looking as lovely as ever, Anna, she of super-toned body and great fashion sense, even clad in 'slimming black' looked at least 5 months pregnant in June (remember, stars don't show the way we mortals do). Between the pregnancy announcement in April and the announcement of a multiple pregnancy yesterday, I searched through shots of Paquin and Moyer and became convinced that the baby was 'older' than reported--but why not fess up to the actual due date?
Now comes the answer to the big mystery via a TB 'source' but confirmed by Sam Trammell, who co-stars in True Blood on HBO as Sam Merlotte, Sookie's ever-loyal (and loving?) boss.
True Blood stars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer are expecting twins, reports revealed Wednesday (6.27.12). Paquin and Moyer, who have been married for two years, follow in the footsteps of co-star Sam Trammell, whose girlfriend Missy Yager had twins 11 months ago.
However, Paquin's expanding baby bump is causing problems for the show's writers because they are trying to conceal her pregnancy.
Creator Alan Ball explained: ''So, in the last few episodes, Sookie's holding a big purse in front of her at all times.
''I actually heard from the costume designer about midway through the season, she went, 'Sookie can't wear a Merlotte's [restaurant] T-shirt anymore.' And I went, 'Well, it's a good thing Sookie isn't really at Merlotte's anymore, she's basically trying to save the world.'
''So, we'll put her in loose-fitting, save the world outfits.''
Anna also confirmed that her pregnancy won't be reflected on screen.
She said: ''At this point, [Sookie] doesn't have a boyfriend on the show.''
WEEDS Episode 8.01 - Gauging Shane's reaction, it appears the bad guy got away
Don't miss the season 8 premiere of Weeds July 1st at 10PM ET/PT.
Behind the scenes WEEDS Season 8:
The Botwins are back for a whole new season and this year there is no escaping their past. Get a behind the scenes look at the new season.
AUSIELLO SPOILER!
Q: I just watched all seven seasons of Weeds in 11 days and now I’m desperate for anything you can dig up on the eighth and final season!
Weeds Season 8 - Hunter Parrish as "Silas'
A: Seven seasons in 11 days? Are you high?! (The classics never go out of style.) Nancy spends much of the July 1 opener fighting for her life in the wake of that cliffhanger shooting, leaving her friends and family to grieve in their own special way — two of ‘em have sex in her hospital room while she’s unconscious and a third feels her up (also while she’s unconscious).

Mary-Louise Parker as 'Nancy Botwin' in WEEDS Season 8
NEW WEEDS SEASON 8 TEASE (VIDEO):
Have you marked your calendars yet for July 1st? No? Well, go and do it now. I'll wait.
Why is July 1st at 10 p.m. et/pt important to note? Because besides being Canada Day, July 1st marks the premiere of season 8 of WEEDS! And Speaking of WEEDS, this is the final season, too!
I'll give you a moment to compose yourself because I know just how you feel. We've been keeping up with the Botwin family for 7 years now. As well as a lot of green, we've literally watched Shane (Alexander Gould) and Silas (Hunter Parrish) grow and bloom. We've shared Uncle Andy (Justin Kirk) and Doug's (Kevin Nealon) growing pains as well and even saw our beloved Nancy (Mary-Louise Parker) take the rap for Shane's <ahem> little indiscretion which cost her three years in the slammer. And now it all comes to a close and we bid them a fond farewell.
But hang on a minute! We've yet to learn Nancy's fate! The season 7 finale almost felt like a series finale with a sniper appearing to take aim at Nancy and a gunshot heard before cutting to black.
I wouldn't worry too much whether Nancy survives, though. She's been in seemingly impossible situations before and somehow she pulls out of them. I am kinda curious tho' if her personality will be affected...but that is all the more reason to watch...and to find out who would want to off our lovely Ms. Botwin. (Nancy has pissed off quite a few people over the years...not really intentionally but P.O.'d they remain.)
It's easy to forget that WEEDS, when it debuted, was considered very daring in it's subject matter, edgy is a good way to put it-- but it was (and still is) unapologetic and never seemed to concern itself about being PC or worrying that it might offend and get itself cancelled. 'Ballsy' is another word I'd chose to describe what has become one of my favourite comedies ever.
Here's a bit of the official announcement from SHOWTIME about Weeds winding up after 8 great seasons:
Showtime to End 'Weeds' After Season 8:
The comedy about a drug-dealing suburban mother (Mary-Louise Parker), which has been one of the cable network's defining series, will wrap its run after its upcoming eighth season.
"Weeds has been a seminal series, which was key in establishing Showtime as a home for great original programming," entertainment president David Nevins said in a statement. "It had a groundbreaking run; entering its eighth season, it's one of the longest-running comedies in the history of cable. We all felt that it was the right time and right way to end it. It was very important to us that we bring the story of Nancy Botwin and her family to a satisfying conclusion for the devoted fans that have spent years supporting this series. Jenji has managed to surprise us every step of the way, and I am confident in her plan for a spectacular series end.”

True Blood - Bill and Jessica TRUE BLOOD - Season 1 Episode 11 (VIDEO):
By order of the Magister, Bill turns Jessica:
SPOILERS Warning!
The Bon Temps killer is revealed, the Michelle Forbes character, a "maenad', is fleshed out, the end result of Bill's punishment from episode 10 is revealed--it's a great clip--and there's lots of Eric.
I spend a lot of time searching the Internet to find information about my and presumably your favourite shows. I love to be spoiled--almost as much as I <3 reading and sharing spoilers.
Make sure to tell your friends if they somehow missed the greatness that is True Blood to catch up on it so they can pick up with the show for the already-renewed Season 2 beginning it is rumoured, in June of '09. (Series renewal was confirmed by HBO after the showing of E2).

'Game Of Thrones': Tyrion's Best Quotes in Season 2 (VIDEO):
Tyrion Lannister (Emmy-winning PETER DINKLAGE) is easily one of the most beloved characters on HBO's "GAME OF THRONES." Not only does he have a cunning mind, but he's the only person who knows how to keep Cersei in her place.
The Best of Tyrion Lannister - Game of Thrones, Season 1 (VIDEO):
Until season 3:
What unifies and defines GAME OF THRONES and it's universe are themes about power and its uses and personal loyalty vs. obligations to the larger community. Within most episodes we travel to the far-flung reaches of Westeros and beyond with the truly exceptional thing being that AGoT's producers, directors, cast and crew have been able to expertly weave together numerous disparate ideas, making them their very own.
There are dozens of variations on George R.R. Martin's continual themes, but there isn't a repetitive quality to the stories, as what different people will do with their free will, how they'll think and plot and fight and (f*ck) their way out of situations -- those things are as exasperating, surprising, heartwarming, horrifying--as infinitely variable, as human nature itself.

Above, you see the scene where Sookie (ANNA PAQUIN), having traveled by Anubis Air (vampire-serving airline) disembarking in the airline hangar as Jessica (DEBORAH ANN WOLL) and Bill (STEVEN MOYER) 'rest'. The flight was delayed, so it is now nighttime. Disembarking, alone in the private hangar, Sookie's chauffeur seems odd, asking strange questions, then he attempts to abduct her...and the fun begins.
True Blood. Jessica 2x04 funny scenes.
A number of reviews are saying that last night's True Blood, Episode #16 (E2.04) was the best episode of the season so far.
Don't get me wrong, 'Shake & Fingerpop' was great but I have to wonder if going two weeks without a fresh episode helped sway them? In the case of a few who had been given episodes 1-4 to review, so they knew what was coming, I think probably yes. in their case too, I think having to keep mum about it for the extra week made them extrasuperexcited about it when it did finally officially air.
My opinion? I thought it was as good as Episode 1 this season. You cannot beat starting season 2 TRUE BLOOD finding out that no, it was not Lafayette dead in the back of Andy Bellefluer's old beater in Merlotte's parking lot only to find Miss Jeanette --minus her heart in full rigor mortis. Literally a stiff.
Then to discover that in Eric of all people living or undead, had Lafayette chained up in his basement. Also in that episode, we saw a terrified Lafayette bear witness to an extremely irritated Eric who happened to be getting his hair bleached by Pam, and so had foils in it as he disemboweled Laffy's fellow prisoner. All that and more in the premiere of season True Blood season 2.
Was last night better? No--but it was just as good.
My favourite scene in the Jessica-centric Episode 2.04 is above - CREDIT: HBO/ True-Blood.net.
This Hoyt-Jessica-Bill-Sookie scene was very well-played by all. Loved this particular moment:
ANNA PAQUIN AS SOOKIE AND STEPHEN MOYER AS BILL IN TRUE BLOOD 2.04 'SHAKE & FINGERPOP' - Sookie: "Bill, that's just plain rude!"
I’ve actually already screened the first four episodes of True Blood‘s new season and, based on what I’m seeing so far, I feel very comfortable declaring Season 5 the year of the Pam. Between the origin stuff with Eric and her present-day storyline with [SPOILER], Kristin Bauer van Straten’s vamp is practically in every other scene — and the show is the better for it. I’m starting the 2013 Emmy campaign for KBvS now. The woman is a national treasure! Question: Anything else you can share on Tina Majorino’s True Blood arc? Love her. Ausiello: Her first scene is with Eric and Bill. A shirtless Eric and a shirtless Bill.
Question: Can’t wait for True Blood this Sunday! Is it safe to say Russell is back to exact revenge on Bill and Eric?
Ausiello: ”Russell doesn’t forget anything, but he’s also smart enough to know when to let bygones be bygones — for tactical and political reasons,” the king’s portrayer, Denis O’Hare, tells TVLine. “There may be a greater good.”

In re: True Blood Season 5 Countdown: 5 Days VIDEO
Woo-hoo: A NEW photo still (screenshot) from the latest TRUE BLOOD promo (June 5) that clearly shows a cleaned-up Sookie and Lafayette, at night, standing over freshly dug, human body or two-size dirt, Lafayette with a 4-pack of TruBlood in his hand(!) and both of them looking very intense. I adjusted this one to try to bring out the TruBlood 4-pack.
Update: June 6/ True Blood Season 5 Countdown: 4 Days VIDEO - No new scenes!
The 'eterternally' gorgeous KRISTEN BAUER van STRATEN toasts her very favourite vampire, her maker, Eric Northman.
Ausiello says that PAM is featured prominently in the first four episodes that he's seen to which I say 'Yay!.'
Bauer van Straten with more screentime, STEPHEN MOYER getting a chance to direct (later in the season) and a baby on the way for MOYER and ANNA PAQUIN. All is right is the TRUE BLOOD world, IMO.

Just went through the TRUE BLOOD season 5 Preview VIDEO. It's pretty cool.
Contrary to some grumbly comments where the vid is posted, there is in fact some new shots of new scenes. Most are not completely 'new'' as we have seen snippets of them before except for those of Russell Edgington, who for the first time we see being discovered in the concrete, rehabbing in a hospital bed, and looking completely healed and feisty as ever (though he appears to be bound). We also see Sookie, Bill, Eric and some burly guy discover Russell's 'hiding place' and come upon his 'leftovers' being nibbled on by rats. Yum. There's plenty more in my Picasa album including shots of Jason, Hoyt, Terry, Arlene, Patrick, Lafayette & Pam--pretty much the whole gang, minus Tara. Click thru and check 'em out!

Love the shot of Tyrion's sellsword, 'Bronn' fighting in the Battle of Blackwater' :
Jerome Flynn is exactly as I would have pictured the character from reading the books and he certainly acts the part. I'm going on record as wanting Bronn's fate in the Battle of Blackwater be exactly like that of the book. It worked very well there and will here as well. Seriously. It's a very bloody battle.

Game Of Thrones Season 2: Inside The Episode #16 VIDEO:
Game of Thrones Season 2: Recap #16:
This episode may have been the most exciting and tension-filled hour of Game of Thrones yet simply because I had no idea what would happen next!
Despite having to missed a week of Bronn (Jerome Flynn) and Ser Jorah (Iain Glen), we had some scorching scenes with many of our favorites (it was Stark-and-psuedo-Stark-intensive).
The opening scene was heartbreaking:
Theon: I sent my men over the walls with grappling hooks and took the castle.
Bran: Why?
As a almost synched-in-time-with GAME OF THRONES (HBO) and current book reader, this was hands down the most tense episode of the season as half-way through I realized that seriously, I had NO IDEA what would happen next.
This episode had some rocking scenes. My highlights:
All of the interactions with Arya (Maisie Williams) and Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance) were chock full of seriously great chemistry. And when they added Littlefinger to the mix it was nail-bittingly intense. (For my part, I have no doubt whatsoever that he recognized Arya. Think about who and what Littlefinger is.)
Kudos to the brilliant Mr. Dance, who knows full well the caveat about working with animals and children in film and is handing every scene to Maisie and her wonderful expression. His restraint is superb—he never dominates with too strong a delivery, or upstages her with menacing hand motions, or any other bits of theatrical business —he just serves up one home-run ball after another and lets her hit each one out of the park.
Arya and Jaqen:
The annoyed look on Jaqen’s (Tom Wlaschiha) face when a frantic Arya demands an immediate kill was perfect. And then Tywin opens the door and Lorch drops in--dead. Spot.on.
The Jon and Ygritte scene where Ygritte kept… “moving” was sweet and sexy. Despite it being a departure from the books, it made me smile.
Osha = badass/ good heart:
Bran, Rickon, Osha and Hodor escape Theon's Winterfell invasion, but to where?:
Game of Thrones Season 2: Recap #16 VIDEO:
The episode opens on a frantic maester Luwin, attempting to send an S.O.S. message via raven. He just gets it off when the Greyjoys arrive. Theon wakes Bran and tells him to assemble everyone in the courtyard, where he will yield Winterfell to him, 'Prince Theon.' Bran does as Theon requests.
Ser Rodrik is captured by Theon’s men outside Winterfell, as he is returning from Torrhen’s Square. He spits in Theon’s face and Dagmer urges Theon to execute him or the men will lose respect for him (He must 'pay the Iron Price.') Theon mulls this over briefly and then takes way too many whacks at poor Ser Rodrik's neck before kicking it off. Later that night, Osha seduces Theon. When he is asleep she sneaks out of his room, casually kills one of the guards and then smuggles Bran, Rickon and Hodor to safety.
***I know this would have changed the story too drastically but logically, why wouldn't Osha have 'casually killed' the sleeping Theon before she did the guard?"***
In King’s Landing, Tyrion, Cersei, Joffrey and Sansa are seeing princess Myrcella off to Dorne. On the way back to the Red Keep, the motley & starving villagers get restless, taunting the royals. Some horseshit finds it target on Joffrey. He loses his shit and demands the head of whomever threw it and from there, things degenerate into complete chaos. Joffrey, Tyrion and Cersei make it back to the castle safely, but Sansa, separated from the group, gets left behind. Tyrion slaps the boy king around a bit and berates him for causing this riot and potentially losing Sansa, reminding him--again--that Jaime's life and Sansa's are tied together. Sansa has been dragged away from the mob and is about to be gang-raped when The Hound, prompted we learn afterwards by Tyrion, slashes and crushes his way to her rescue.
In Robb’s camp we again glimpse 'Lady Talisa' as does the King of the North. Under much quieter circumstances than their first meeting on the battlefield, she and Robb flirt--then Catelyn arrives with Brienne. Catelyn is introduced to Talisa. Cat and Robb then walk-and-talk until Roose arrives with some really.bad. news. Robb is furious with Theon and is ready to march to Winterfell and take it back himself. Roose suggests he send his own bastard son from the Dreadfort instead, that he would be happy to bring him Theon’s head. Robb says he wants him alive, so he can look him in the eye and ask him ‘Why?’ before executing him himself.
At Harrenhal, Arya continues to serve Tywin Lannister as cupbearer. In a meeting with his men, Tywin berates Amory Lorch for bungling a simple letter delivery because he cannot read. He dismisses his men and then chats with Arya, after he learns that she can read. Littlefinger arrives to meet with Tywin. Arya does her best to remain unnoticed while Littlefinger proposes an alliance with the Tyrells. After Littlefinger leaves, Arya spots a letter about Robb on the table and, while Tywin’s back is turned, snatches it. Later with the letter in hand, she runs through the castle and literally runs into Amory Lorch. Amory notices the letter and gets suspicious. Arya fears she'll be caught and punished so she runs. Amory heads for Tywin while Arya desperately searches out Jaqen. She finds him, names Amory Lorch as her second name, demands he be killed--NOW-- and just as Amory makes it to Tywin’s door, he falls down dead.
Beyond the Wall, Qhorin’s band treks through the mountains, looking for wildlings. They spy a small scout camp and attack and kill all but one of the wildlings, a red-haired girl named Ygritte. Qhorin tells Jon to kill her and meet up with them at the top of the mountain. Jon hesitates--he can't do this--and Ygritte uses his moment of weakness to break and run for it. Jon chases and catches her, but they have lost Qhorin and the rest of his brothers. Darkness is descending upon them so after binding her, the two settle in for the long, cold night, huddled together on the ground.
Meanwhile in Qarth, Danareys is trying and failing to bargain with the Spice King for some ships. Though he finds her intriguing and spirited, he won't make such a risky investment. Dany and Xaro return to his mansion to find his guards slain. Dany runs through the courtyard up to her quarters, passing a dead bloodrider on the way, and finding an apparently dead Irri lying on the floor. Worst of all, her dragon's cages are empty. The closing shot shows a hooded figure walking the dragons up steep steps toward a ominous-looking tower, whilst the dragons, cloaked and caged, cry out.
The Best Scenes:
Change is good, right?
Many changes from the way things went down in the book in tonight’s episode. Arya almost runs into Littlefinger, then she kills off Amory Lorch. Theon executes Ser Rodrik then sleeps with Osha. Jon doesn’t let Ygritte go and instead chases her down then ends up getting separated from Qhorin. And, of course, Dany’s dragons get stolen. The changes from book to screen really added a lot of drama and tension to the episode.
Ser Rodrik: Death with dignity – This scene was truly hard to watch, especailly with the plaintive wails of both Bran and Ricken who, like the rest of the the captives, bore witness. Ser Rodrik went out with class tho', despite Theon not giving him the clean execution he deserved. First, he calmed Bran and Rickon and then called out Theon one last time. “Gods help you, Theon Greyjoy. Now you are truly lost.”
The super-fast murder of Amory Lorch – This had to be the lightest moment involving death in the series thus far. The Hound saves Sansa – The Hound was all kinds of awesome in his rescue of the nearly gang-raped Sansa. It was a scene only alluded to in the book so it was very satisfying seeing it played out.
And not-insignificantly we had...Direwolves! -- There were three direwolves. Ghost looks magnificent in the white-on-white setting he's in. We had a non-gratuitous Osha(!) (Natalia Tena) naked scene and an awesomely-rendered Joffrey-bitch-slap from Tyrion ( for inciting the mob ("Kill them all!") after some poo-flinging at the boy king on some low-born's part.
EMILIA CLARKE as DAENARYS in EPISODE #16 of GAME OF THRONES:
The less-than-Best Scenes:
As Dany talked longer and longer to the spice king, she seemed younger and younger and less and less powerful/confident, even when yelling her standard 'Fire and Blood' threat. And all of her gravitas disappeared when she made her most feared discovery at episode's end.
This season Daenarys is beginning to sound like as a whiny, demanding 'little princess' stamping her feet when she doesn’t get her way. A little girl that is completely out of her depth and is falling apart...not rising.

ANNA PAQUIN and ALEXANDER SKARSGARD in TRUE BLOOD - 'Conjuring Up Season 4' Promo VIDEO airing MAY 27 on HBO:
Conjuring up True Blood Season 4 premiering May 27th on HBO.
True Blood Season 5 premiers this June 10th on HBO.
Looks like the TRUE BLOOD gang's all here except Rutina Wesley (Tara) who tooka bullet to the brain for Sookie (Anna Paquin) at the end of season 4. Very much reminds me of the season 1 cliff-hangar with the foot of a person unknown with toenails painted much like Lafayette's hangin' outta the back seat of Andy Bellefleur's (Chris Bauer) car. We'd last see "Lala" takin' out the trash behind Merlotte's and then being startled by something coming at him at vamp speed. He wasn't seen in any of the season 2 previews prior to the season premiere but then we found he was safe and sound locked up in Eric's dungeon as punishment for sellign "V' (vampire blood).
Here's some intel on what to expect from True Blood season 5 fresh off the press earlier today:
Question: Any True Blood scoop? Answer:
Sorry, Sookie (and fans of the love triangle), but this is the season of the bromance!
"There's a bit of a bromance between going on this year between Eric and Bill," Alexander Skargård tells us.
"It's fun because I love Stephen Moyer to death and after four years of butting heads, this is more like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. We have a common enemy and we have to team up this year."
Stephen Moyer as Bill, Alexander Skarsgård as Eric and Lucy Griffiths as Nora, Eric's sister in TRUE BLOOD Season 5:
Lucy Griffiths is playing Eric Northman's, Godric-sired sister, Nora. Says Griffiths:
"She's an irreverent British lady who we think was turned during Elizabethan or Victorian times," Lucy reveals. "It's been years since she's seen Eric, and she is very excited. She looks up to him, but they've had a fiery love/hate relationship in the way that brothers and sisters do."
Nora is a member of the Vampire Authority ruling council, and is rumoured to be a double agent. Juicy!

GAME OF THRONES Melisandre (Carice van Houten) gazes upon the demon spawn (HBO):
LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Last week’s “Game of Thrones” episode proved to be a shocker not just to the audience, but to one of its stars — Liam Cunningham.
The Irish actor was part of the eye-popping cliffhanger scene where his character, Ser Davos Seaworth, watched the red priestess, Melisandre (played by Carice van Houten), give birth to some sort of “monster.” “After I lifted my jaw off the ground, when I read the end of it, I was astonished,” he told AccessHollywood.com of his initial reaction to the script.
“I just really wanted to know how they were gonna shoot this. “When I saw where we were shooting it and what it was gonna look like, I thought, ‘This is like a Caravaggio — a beautiful painting.’ And [Director David Petrarca] said, ‘That’s exactly what our brief was — to make it look like this,’” Liam continued. “And this thing — it’s just so weird to watch. “When I do turn around — you have to get your head around this as an actor — to turn around and see the red priestess dropping the robe and [she’s] nine months pregnant, and two second before, she wasn’t pregnant at all? And for my character, who’s very real, he’s very human, and to see this thing crawl along the ground… this CGI-ed monster, is very, very scary and it’s an amazing end shot,” he enthused.
...“It’s not something you can rehearse. You kind of have to just play it and it’s very taxing on Carice, as well, because of the screaming and the different angles and the basic delivery — it’s not as difficult as a real one. However, when you’re in a cave, in the cold weather, and she’s virtually naked, it’s, I mean she had the tougher job of that,” he said.
To make the lithe Carice look pregnant in the scene, they brought in the experts, who made her faux belly move. “Carice had a prosthetic on which was operated by pneumatics, so we had the wonderful Conor O’Sullivan, who did ‘Clash of the Titans,’ he did ‘The Dark Knight’ — incredible guy, top of his game, whose operating this um, tummy,” he said.
... “It’s just really surreal. You’ve got a film crew and somebody’s giving birth to a monster in a cave, in Northern Ireland, in the middle of the night,” Liam said. “You’ve gotta laugh at that stuff. It could twist the mind of a sane person.” “... this is a wonderful cliffhanger… to finish [the episode]. ‘What the hell is this woman up to and what is she doing at this point?’ And we just cut it,” Liam laughed...
It seems that the casting for roles in DEXTER season 7 has begun in earnest. A number of casting calls went out earlier this week and now there's a name to go with a character with a 'major recurring role.'
From AUSIELLO:
In the first piece of casting for the show’s upcoming seventh season, Dexter has tapped Rome (HBO) actor Ray Stevenson to join the ensemble in a 'major recurring role' TVLine has learned exclusively.
Stevenson will play a high-ranking member of an Eastern European crime ring who arrives in Miami determined to learn who killed one of his associates.
Ray Stevenson
Stevenson has starred in TV's "Rome" and in movies like "Thor" and "Punisher: War Zone," will also star in the "Thor" sequel and this summer's 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation.'
"Dexter," which was renewed for a seventh and eighth season by SHOWTIME in November, will begin its seventh season on September 30.
No further details were available, including whether Stevenson will function as the new season’s 'Big Bad'.
Looking over the casting descriptions, it's possible that Stevenson will be playing this guy:
[VIKTOR KAREV] 30s, handsome, well dressed, stylish, slight Eastern European accent. He is a polished businessman who can get his hands dirty when he has to.
Also, I must take exception to Ausiello's assumption that there will be a single 'big bad' in season 7 DEXTER. If you recall (and how could you not?!) when last we saw them, Dex's (Michael C. Hall) sister Deb (Jennifer Carpenter), had just discovered Dexter in the act of committing a murder, decked out in his usual garb in his made-to-order 'kill room.' There is no way, no how that this is going to be a 'normal' season of Dexter (if there is such a thing) so I'm not ready to wager that anything this season will be business as usual.
Dexter's seventh season premieres Sunday, Sept. 30.
HOMELAND SCOOP!
Q: Is it too early to ask for Homeland scoop?
TVGuide: Never! Even though Carrie (Claire Danes) was booted from the CIA by David Estes at the end of Season 1, I hear she'll be travelling overseas on a special mission -- with Estes' approval -- when the new season, which reportedly takes place six months later, begins. And speaking of Estes: One of Brody's (Damien Lewis) first assignments from Abu Nazir requires him to break into a safe in his office!
Morgan Freeman as Lucius and Christian Bale as Batman in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES (Release date: July 20th, 2012)
Fun times! It had slipped my mind that the final film in the Dark Knight trilogy was coming to theatres this July!
I don't think it warrants a confession but it is something that I'm sure people have diverse opinions on. I have a very long history with Batman starting with comic books, continuing with the 1960's live-action show (which I thought was hokey) and many iterations of cartoons and, of course, the Batman franchise on the big screen which has included actors George Clooney and Michael Keaton inhabiting Batman.
I think though that every other portrayal of Bruce Wayne/Batman pales in comparison to what actor Christian Bale and director Christopher Nolan have created with The Dark Knight trilogy. Of course, many more were involved in making it The Best Batman (Evar!) including some very memorable turns by top-notch actors. Still, Christian Bale to me, was and is the very best Batman in film.

Game of Thrones Season 2: Recap #12:
Episode 2.12 was very good but I must admit that Game Of Thrones the show is more enjoyable now that I'm reading the book(s). Often you just cannot convey a character's 'interior life' on the small screen and for me, having the book just makes the story better. So far, the 2nd book in the series, 'A Clash Of Kings' is a quick-moving, enjoyable read, too.
I bought the first book in the George R. R. Martin series, "A Song of Ice and Fire" series but realized having already watched A Game Of Thrones, season 1 on HBO that I was likely to make reading and viewing it more difficult for myself in regard to following the many threads of the storyline. Picking up the series, having watched the HBO GoT season 1 when it first aired, and now whilst watching season 2, reading is going really well thus far (only 150 pages in but moving a a good clip for me).
Peter Dinklage as 'Tyrion Lannister' in Game Of Thrones - Episode 12
Peter Dinklage as "Tyrion Lannister" and Jerome Flynn as 'Bronn" (Tyrion's sellsword):
Though I have not yet gone back and read of the particulars of the relationship of Tyrion and his sellsword, Bronn, I think a good job was done showing in season 1 that Bronn is a very good sellsword, Tyrion is accutely aware of this, as entrusting his life to Bronn would strongly imply. This season 2 scene established how the two seem to be seemlessly working in tandem, setting about clearing out the human detritus (in this case, the guy that chopped off Ned's head and was finacially rewarded with land and a seat on the smalll council for it) left in the wake of Ned Stark's murder (and the deaths of both the King Baratheon after the highly suspicious death of the King's Hand that preceeded Ned's. So I guess both Bronn and Tyrion ought to keep a very close watch on Tyrion's noggin.
Cersei (Lena Heady) makes clear to Tyrion that his very existence "is a joke," as her, Jaime's & Tyrion's mother died when she gave birth to Tyrion. Cersei clearly detests Tyrion and rumours of her conspiring to kill him off should be taken seriously. Obviously, King Joffery has paid close attention to mummy over the years.
I'm learning that _this_ smile from 'Tyrion' is covering up a vast amount of rage and, that whomever brought it on (Cersei, in this case) will be made to pay.

'When the promos start you know that the biggest part of the wait is over.'***
HBO producer Jenn Grauer was present at a cast interview for behind the scenes promos with Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer and Alexander Skarsgård and posted the following pic on Twitter.
Kristen Bauer van Straten as vampire 'Pam de Beaufort' in True Blood (HBO)
For the next few months, if you stay current on the casting calls and newly-cast members you'll have a good chance at getting a rough sketch of what some of TRUE BLOOD Season 5 will look like. So far, the biggest casting coup has been that of one Mr. Chris Meloni.
Casting however, is ongoing along with the rest of the season 5 True Blood production so between now and True Blood's June 2012 season 5 debut, I'll gather up the latest scoopage (and spoilers!) and periodically share with you. I'm not wild about blaring trumpets announcing casting calls for expendable extras (for example) so I'll hold on to that stuff to include with posts like this one with news worthy of you sinking your fangs into.
Kristen TRUE BLOOD SCOOP - January 23, 2012:
Anything more on True Blood? Fact: We love us a good flashback, but we love 'em even more when they answer questions that we've been pondering for years. In episode four we're finally going to learn what happened to Terry (Todd Lowe) back in '03 when he was serving in Iraq—and believe us when we say it's going to be intense.
Newcomer Giles Matthey has landed the multi-episode role of a hot and mysterious British faery. One report has him catching Jessica’s attention, but that’s not confirmed. 'Claude' was previously played (briefly) by Neil Hopkins (LOST) on the show.
In the books, Claude is described as “the nephew of Sookie’s half-human/half-faery grandfather, 'Fintan', and cousin to Sookie’s father … He makes an impact on all women and is described as being absolutely breathtaking … He started out as a stripper at Hooligans, a club in Monroe, which he later becomes owner of, and has branched out to print and runway modeling … Women usually say “wow” when they see him, but his interest is men.”
There has been speculation that this season Pam (Kristen Bauer van Straten), Eric Northman’s (Alexander Skarsgård) 'child' and confidante, will have her origin story explored.
Alan Ball, creator and lead writer on the True Blood team is looking for a diverse roster of new cast members. A 'non-threatening man in his 30s' and a prostitute named 'Washcloth Helen' are among the casting calls. Both of these characters will be introduced during a flashback to a San Francisco brothel in 1905. The date is significant because 1905 is supposedly the year when Eric maid Pam vampire if you are following the books. The True Blood scribes have previously changed the story so the 'book fact' that Pam actually turns in London doesn't at all mean that TV Pam will do the same.
It's no secret that the legions of Pam fans have been clamouring for her backstory (we've witnessed both Bill and Eric's being turned) and it's also no secret that a) vampires don't age and b) human actors do. So doing the math, yes, season 5 would be a very good time to enjoy the story of how Pam voluntarily(!) became a vampire.
1 | Janina Gavankar revealed that “a major thing happens to Luna early in the season, and it’s going to change her life forever.”
2 | The cast learned that Chris Meloni was Bon Temps-bound last month at a table read, news that elicited “gasps” throughout the room, recalled Gavankar. “We’re so excited to have him.”
3 | Alcide’s days of playing Mr. Nice Guy are over. “As you saw at the end of Season 4, he’s not taking anyone’s s— anymore,” said the man-beast’s portrayer, Joe Manganiello. “Now you’re going to see an Alcide who’s going to slam you up against the wall and do his thing. Who doesn’t like being slammed up against the wall, right?” Asked to clarify his use of the word “slam” — i.e. is it a euphemism for, ahem, another s-word — Manganiello cracked a devilish smile and replied, “It could be a fun slam. And it could be an angry slam. You never know?” He then reminded us that, “Alcide is single.”
4 | The latest True Blood script Manganiello read contains “some really fun [Alcide-Sookie] stuff,” he revealed. “Stuff that makes you really nervous… I’m watching my words really carefully.”
5 | Ryan Kwanten hinted that Jason may have bitten off more than he could chew with regard to his romance with Jessica. “As you know, anyone who gets involved with Jason better have her wits about her,” he said. “But I think in this case, it’s Jason who better watch out. The tables have finally turned.”
6 | Where do you go after spending half of Season 4 being raped by a werepanther? “Even that can be topped,” teased Kwanten. “Jason was very lucky to survive; he was down for the count. He has a desire to life. I admire that in a man.”
Christopher Heyerdahl, who plays an ancient vampire in the Twilight Saga movies, will now play one in another screen adaptation of a popular book series, this time on TV. Heyerdahl is joining HBO’s hit vampire drama True Blood in a recurring role. He will portray 'Dieter Braun', an ancient, powerful vampire who plays a large part in the intelligence of the Authority and especially enjoys enhanced interrogation. That is familiar territory for Sanctuary alum Heyerdahl who played the ancient Volturi vampire Marcus in 3 of the Twilight movies: New Moon, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and the upcoming Part 2. Additionally, he played a demon in an arc on the CW’s Supernatural. Heyerdahl... currently co-stars on the AMC drama series Hell On Wheels, playing Norwegian badass The Swede. The period Western was recently renewed for a second season.

Homeland - SHO_Homeland Sundays @ 10 p.m.
One of the year’s best reviewed new shows, Showtime’s intoxicating thriller Homeland—which stars Claire Danes and Damian Lewis—has proven to be an audience favorite as well. Launching to 1.1 million total viewers, the premiere ranks as Showtime’s best-rated drama premiere since 2003’s supernatural drama Dead Like Me, which, coincidentally, also starred Mandy Patinkin. (Once all platforms were factored in, that number soared to 2.8 million.) The pay cable channel has already renewed Homeland for a second season, and can expect to find it on many best of 2011 lists going into end of the year. With aging hits like Dexter and Weeds moving toward their endgames, Homeland—one of the first new pieces of programming to come out of Showtime’s new entertainment president David Nevins’ development—seems poised to be a valuable player for the network for several years to come. by Jace Lacob---probably consistantly my favourite television /pop-culture critic on the web.
Having watched HOMELAND from the first episode and seen it build strength as a compelling twisty-turny thriller, I'm not surprised by both the audience and critical positive reaction that have come from it.
I do believe that both Mandy Patinkin as "Saul," 'Carrie Mathison's' (Claire Danes) mentor, and Danes herself will be up for Emmys come awards time. Probably a couple of Golden Globe noms in there too, for various aspects of this excellent new Showtime offering.
Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) has a "Russell Edgington' moment after he rips out the throat of a Wiccan (HBO credit).

After the Jump - Recap True Blood Episode #44 'Spellbound' [VIDEO]:
Stephen Moyer as 'Vampire Bill' the King of Mississippi
Witches vs. vampires - whose side are you on?:
The war between the two factions escalates on tonight’s episode of HBO’s “True Blood” (at 9 p.m.). In “Spellbound?,” written by series creator Alan Ball, Marnie/Antonia (the sublime Fiona Shaw) and Bill (Stephen Moyer) face off in a cemetery.
Bill claims he wants peace, but he’s brought a small army with him, including Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Eric (Alexander Skarsgård). Things get violent fast, and Sookie’s life - and love life - just be taking yet another dramatic swerve.
“There’s no such thing as forever,” Sookie tells Eric earlier in the episode, and those words seem prophetic. The two take their intimacy to even greater - bloodier - levels.
Alcide (Joe Manganiello) vows to stay away from Sookie, but that’s a promise he cannot keep. Sam (Sam Trammell) makes a new enemy, while his brother Tommy (Marshall Allman) walks in a woman’s shoes. Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) is no longer himself - literally.
Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) and Hoyt (Jim Parrack) experience not one but two wrenching break-ups. But Jessica discovers moving on with Jason (Ryan Kwanten) will not be that easy.
True Blood featured vampire cast including Deborah Ann Woll as "Jessica' (far right)
In re: DEBORAH ANN WOLL - A primer on how to SPELL HER NAME:
In journalism, which I thought was what we were getting from the Boston Herald, it is a cardinal sin to misspell an actor's name (a book or movie title, etc) wrong even just ONCE.
The Boston Herald gets Deborah Ann Woll's name wrong EVERY time they mention her, insisting it is WOLF instead. Ironic, given that they are singling her our for praise.
It _would_ be funny but how low are we going to set the bar for spelling an actor's name correctly, the title of a book...a website?
I always misspell SpoilerTV when I credit them--this post's source, but I go back and fix it before hitting 'publish'.
Do we no longer have time to even get the basic stuff right? A person's name is spelled the same in every language. Not trying to be an English as first language snob or spelling police. I am the typo queen myself (see, levity!!) but I try mightily to get proper names spelled right.
Hey fellow Truebies! I just now had time to rewatch (most of) True Blood Episode 3, 'If You Love Me, Why Am I Dyin'? on HBOGo, and I was wondering if y'all were left pondering like me:
Why kill off Sookie's faery Godmother NOW?
If you are not a 'bookie' (a reader of the Charlaine Harris Sookie Stackhouse novels upon which HBO's True Blood is based) then it may have only been a surprise not a shock when Claudine (played by Lara Pulver) was murdered by Amnesia!Eric right before Sookie's and our eyes.
Claudine had returned to 'our side' to implore, then demand that Sookie return to 'Faery' with her. When Sookie declined her faery godmother's invitation, then stated firmly that she wished Claudine to take a flying leap...she couldn't have known that Eric was listening and would, with his hypervamp-speed snatch Claudine up and proceed to feed on her--fatally. (Scroll down for more HBO copyright screenshots that I clipped---plus the official promo photo stills from this episode.)
In the book series, which I'll gingerly tred around as best I can (some people may interpret this as SPOILERS so be forewarned), Claudine is one of a trio of faery triplets---2 girls and a guy. We've met Claude in the True Blood Faery as a rebel fae who helped save Sookie from Queen Mab. In the books there existeda 2nd female triplet who is dead when Sookie's world and the Fae's 'collide.'
However (and I hope this is making sense) in Alan Ball's True Blood, so far we know of only twin faeries who are related to Sookie, which would leave one with the impression that Claudine is indeed gone forever dead.
But, the HBO True Blood 'Fae' storyline has not yet been fully written (if it ever is to be) with Ball switching up and adapting the story, as he explained to EW.com (scroll down for link to full story).
Just off the top of my head, he and/or the True Blood writers could very well bring back 'Claudine,' if they so chose by simply switching her up with Claudette, her 'dead' faery-sister.
It would be fun to bring faeries back as they were very well-integrated with the Sookie storyline in the novels. OTOH, it costs nothing to imagine the land of the Fae when reading a Harris novel and True Blood as we all know, is 'only' television. Given that season 4 True Blood is featuring witches , werepanthers, werewolfs, (shape)shifters and vampires, there just may be no more room in the FX budget this season for faeries.
Still, I thought that episode 4 was very entertaining. Of course, anything with the memory-wiped Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård) is incredibly fun to take in but his competition for Sookie's attention, the new King of Louisiana, William Compton (Stephen Moyer) is pretty darn awesome, too.
Anticipating Season 4 Vampire Bill, most of us it seemed, were lamenting the likelihood of watching him mope due to his breakup with Sookie but he's changed so much--outwardly, anyway. Some Truebies thought Bill Compton 'abandoned' his only sire, Jessica Hamby (Deborah Ann Woll) despite her choice to move in with boyfriend (toy?) Hoyt, but a nice little scene in this episode showcased their continuing mutual affection and support--while also giving us a glimpse of super-cautious, sort-of-uptight Bill that we've come to know and love from previous True Blood seasons.
There was lots more--notably where my girl-crush, Pam (Kristen Bauer van Straten) got tossed by her maker Eric, across Sookie's living room after verbally threatening Sookie (sense a pattern, here?). When Pam stood up and began to approach Sookie again, Amnesia!Eric cautioned her to 'be nice' to Sookie.

EW EXCLUSIVE: 'True Blood': Alan Ball and Charlaine Harris discuss Sunday's shocking death of [SPOILER] --
Entertainment Weekly’s EW.com has spoken exclusively to True Blood executive producer Alan Ball and author Charlaine Harris about the death of Claudine in this past Sunday’s episode. Many fans of Harris’ original novels were surprised by the death scene, which doesn’t occur until much later in the book series. But there’s more left to see in Sookie’s fairy world: "After everything that was going on with the fairies in the first episode, I think we wanted to sort of put a pin in that, but obviously it’s not over," says Ball. "I felt it would have more impact if it was someone we knew as opposed to just a random fairy."
And Harris is okay with the change. "If [Ball] can be gracious to me, I can certainly be gracious enough to wait and see where he’s going."
Hey Nurse Jackie fans! Just a reminder, Nurse Jackie is back tonight, June 6!:
'Nurse Jackie': Eve Best as Dr. O'Hara, Peter Facinelli as 'Dr. Cooper ('Coop')
Episode 10 of Nurse Jackie (the next episode), 'F**k The Lemurs,' will air on Showtime on Monday, June 6./EDIT. Sorry, sorry, sorry. I pulled up my wall calendar, skipping June altogether and messed up the date (tho' not day). It is now correct/end EDIT
It's a bit tense waiting 2 weeks as last we saw of Jackie she was reeling from her drug supplier's sudden death (by Mack truck), forcing her to go cold turkey, only to leave us hanging as she took a evening stroll down the middle of Madison Avenue.
I thought it was one of the most powerful episodes of Nurse Jackie, ever. No matter how rough things have gotten since we've come to know Jackie Peyton, she found a reserve of 'salvation' to tide her over hidden somewhere. Before, Jackie appeared to have a rock solid foundation despite her painkiller addiction. Obviously, she had us fooled (though deep down, the audience knew better), because right now she is coming apart at the seams and it is scary to watch.
It is a testament to Edie Falco's nuanced performance that the show has brought the audience to the edge with Jackie and now we too, are looking down at the great abyss. Eve Best has turned in a performance worthy of Emmy nomination too, in her role of Jackie's best friend and as head of the ER, her boss.
Preview Nurse Jackie: Episode 10, 'Eff the Lemurs' -
Grace asks her psychologist to be put on medication; Jackie is placed on probation over the drugs she stole from Oncology; Coop reserves the chapel for a wedding.

Sookie Stackhouse Home on True Blood Set - Where Reality and Fantasy Meet:
Very interesting little piece over at the HBO True Blood series' production blog which provides a neat glimpse into the place--the Stackhouse home--where reality and fantasty blur. Check it out in the link below as well as this sweet comment from True Blood showrunner/creator Alan Ball:
This (here) is a shot of Alan Ball's mom from the 1930s. "I like having her on set," Alan said, "there is a picture of my mom and dad and brothers on the piano, and my Uncle Bud is over the fireplace in the dining room."
Source Inside True Blood Blog - 'Secrets of the Set: Things You Didn't Know About Gran's House'
I also have an album of detailed photos that were previously released of the Stackhouse home's interior as well as a few shots of both the exterior and Bill's home: Sookie's home - before the Maenad.
Today HBO launched a 'production blog,' HBO: Inside True Blood:
The blog, a behind-the-scenes effort, is authored by 'Gianna' who introduces herself as having worked 'for the extraordinary Alan Ball' for two years. She describes herself as being 'in the middle of things' and goes on to dish a very few small tidbits about what was going on BTS including that 'today’s call sheet includes the words hostage, bites, dinner and Eric. There is also a General Safety Memo When Working with Exotic Animals attached to the front,' she disclosed.
She goes on to urge True Blood fans to check back because you can expect weekly 'news on production, plus a little backdoor peek at how things work around here.'
Gianna wrote a great little post about Sookie Stackhouse's little yellow Honda car's identity crisis (Am I for driving, A stunt car? For being towed about?! Turns out, literally: All three!) as well as a 'quick Q&A' with Alan Ball:
Gianna: What are you most excited about this season? Alan: I really love the Eric storyline.
Gianna: What's going to shock the fans? Alan: What happens to Jason...throughout the whole season.
Gianna: Got any advice for fans that are chomping at the bit? Alan: We're working as fast as we can! In the meantime, I recommend watching the Swedish film Let the Right One In and the Russian films Day Watch and Night Watch.
IMO, the 'new darkness' on True Blood is not 'who' but more 'what.'
My feel is that Alan Ball will not whip up an entirely new big bad. One only has to look at the casting news to see that at least in part, Ball and his writers are following the Sookie Stackhouse book series (book #4). The plethora of witches, shifters, werewolves, faeries and of course, vampires has me leaning in the direction of the books in that there will be a supernatural war.
That is very much OK with me as Charlaine Harris's fourth book in the Southern Gothic series, 'Dead To The World,' is my favourite.
Q: How about some True Blood scoop? Ausiello: ... Remember last season’s legendary head-turning sex scene between Lorena and Bill? Well, the word around Bon Temps is that there’s a sequence in the upcoming fourth season that will have folks buzzing just as (if not more) loudly. The character at the center of said scene? One Jason Stackhouse.
Q: How will Alcide and Sookie’s relationship evolve this season — if at all? Will Alcide begin to develop real romantic feelings for her? Ausiello: “I think Alcide has already developed real feelings for her,” responds exec producer Alan Ball. “But there are certainly obstacles to overcome for both of them.”
Q: Any dish on the upcoming season of True Blood? A: Stephen Moyer spills, "We've got a new presence. There will be a new kind of specter that represents darkness. We had the wonderful Denis O'Hare as the king of Mississippi last year and he's [gone] at the end of season three, so we've got something else (my italics - CM) coming in to replace that darkness, which is going to be really interesting, I think, this whole new sort of topic that we haven't covered."
Guesses on who the new "darkness" will be? (see above)
[CAROLINE BELLEFLEUR] We finally get to meet the matriarch of long-time Bon Temps fixtures, the Bellefleurs.
In her 70s, Caucasian, formidable, refined, and beautifully dressed, she is Portia’s (Courtney Ford) and Andy's (Chris Bauer) grandmother who dislikes vampires but warms to Bill’s charm. Guest Star. Aww. Makes me miss 'Gran' (Lois Smith).
[EMMA] Native American / Hispanic, 6 years old to play 5 years old, happy, playful and talkative, she is the daughter of a shifter and a werewolf. Strong Recurring.
[HEAD PRIEST] Male, Hispanic, 40s to 70s, seen in a flashback to 1610, he instigates the burning of a witch at a medieval church, and he clearly takes pleasure in describing the procedure. 3 lines, 1 scene. Actor must speak Spanish.
Paola Turbay has joined HBO's drama True Blood as a recurring. She will play Antonia. We don't know much about her except for the fact that she speaks fluent Spanish and is 'fierce'. The Houston, TX-born Turbay, who moved to Colombia at age 10, is former Miss Colombia and Miss Universe runner-up. She made her U.S. series debut as a regular on CBS' Cane and has been recurring on USA's Royal Pains.

The intruder has a familiar name:
EW: Dexter’s step-children Astor and Cody have been MIA since episode 2, but pre-teen Astor makes her return in this week’s episode — though you likely won’t recognize her when she walks in looking like she’s working undercover in a vice case. Elsewhere, LaGuerta and Batista continue to butt heads and this time it’s over a case she refuses to reopen after Deb discovers new evidence. On the Lumen front, if you’ve been sensing romantic vibes from the couple-- calm yourself! The real couple making major moves here is Deb and Quinn. Can you say love? Because one of them certainly can. Someone else who’s doing a lot of talking these days? The linguistically gifted baby Harrison, who says “Mama” for the first time. Guess who he says it to…
Bill Releases Jessica - Bill & Jessica train/confide (video)
Both Stephen Moyer as Vampire Bill and Deborah Ann Woll (jessica) did wonderful, nunaced scenes that were so believable, especially within the context of their relatiosnship (Bill was made by the Magister To 'make' Jessica at the end of season 1).
Both Stephen Moyer as Vampire Bill and Deborah Ann Woll (jessica) did wonderful, nunaced scenes that were so believable, especially within the context of their relatiosnship (Bill was made by the Magister To 'Make' Jessica at the end of season 1).
As promised, there was a great deal of blood and sex in episode 8. There were more name-brand deaths in episode 3x08 as well: Talbot the vampire king Russell's husband, was staked by Eric, and Gus, the last of the 'Fuck You [Were] Crew,' was drained by Jessica after he broke into Sookie's house.Bill took out a nameless Crew wolf, too.
Finally, we got a (30-second) love scene with Sookie & Bill having makeup sex or breakup-to-makeup sex, I guess more accurately.
Eric, in the most chaste love scene I think ever on True Blood, got it on w/Talbot or so Talbot's facial expressions would have one believe, almost right until Eric's ultimate vampire "fuck you"--staking him.
After escaping Russell's clutches via Bill's denigrating the King of Mississippi as either a "coward or just lazy," Jessica dined on the last of the "Fuck You Crew," 'Gus.' She ate with great passion.
''Franklin's brains won't wash off the guest linens, I had to bury werewolves under the gazebo, and that Sookie bitch staked Lorena. I've had enough excitement, thank you.''. --Talbot to Russell upon Russell's return home from marrying Sophie-Anne and beheading the Magister.
SPOILER!!!
Franklin's brains, for better or worse, will have grown back by next week.
True Blood - Episode 3x09 'Everything is Broken' Franklin Mott (James Frain) & Tara Thornton (Rutina Wesley).
Looks like "beautifully broken" is going to apply in at least a couple of situations in this week's True Blood episode (S3x02).
It seems Tara's heart is completely broken and she's lost all hope.
In the case of kidnapped Bill, I'm pretty sure his captors are going to try to break his will (and to a degree succeed--though maybe not this week). Hm. Maybe a promise will be broken? This season is allegedly "all about sex" so then does beautifully broken allude to getting it on some way? We'll just have to stay tuned.
I love this challenge. We could do this challenge every year and I’d be happy. And if Coach could play in this challenge every season I would never stop hosting Survivor.
But first…
The “Didn’t See It Coming” match: Did anybody actually think Amanda would take out Danielle? That was the biggest upset of the match. A total shocker.
“The Most Exciting” match: Colby and Rob. That was a fantastic match-up. Exactly who we wanted to see go at it. Chalk this one up for Colby. That is how this challenge was designed to be played. Aggressively.
“The Most Embarrassing” match: It’s now official. James has clearly lost his mind. It’s el gonzo. It was the most lopsided match of the challenge. There was no doubt who was going to win. James knocked Randy off with one small push and then…he threw his bag on top of him and as always had to have the last word. “Get your f—ing old ass outta here.” Sorry James but this is where I get off the James train. It’s not that I think Randy is the nicest guy in the world either, but that was just unnecessary and truly ugly.
And now…to the greatest moment of the episode…
“The I Can’t Hear You, Jeff, Because I’m Too Busy Posing For The Camera” match: Coach, you are a gem. You are the greatest. I loved this moment when it happened. I love it even more now that it’s on my TiVo and I can watch it over and over and over and over.
Side note: Some of you may be wondering about the sit-out rule pertaining to back-to-back challenges. That rule only applies within an episode. Each new episode it starts fresh. Typically we have two challenges within an episode, but not always. So Courtney was able to sit out the last challenge (last week’s episode) and sit out again in this week’s challenge (new episode.) Hope that clears up any questions.
You know what is fascinating...but stupid about Survivor's Villians? The entire tribe talked about how dangerous the scheming Parvati is then did nothing to get rid of her! It seems this entire episode centered around people mouthing different variations on the same ''Parvati is a huge flirt (with both the guys and girls) and is a huge threat because she has three known allies on the "Heroes" tribe and... "Other people may be fooled by her act but I'm not because I'm on to her and know she needs to go now,' speech.
Jerri even went so far as to proclaim, ''Parvati is like a virus,'' which made me happy because it means that, unlike Micronesia, this season I will not be the first person to compare Parvati to a sexually transmitted disease.
But after all that tough talk from the tribe, not a single person even voted for Parvati. Not even Jerri, who also revealed that, ''I'm at the point right now where every time I am around here, I just want to punch her in the face. That's all I can think about, is taking her down.'' Parvati later responded ( to the cameraperson) by referring to Jerri as a ''bitter old cougar..'' Name-calling. Mature.
The Heroes should have been reveling in their 8-0 sweep of the
villains, but it ended on a sour note when James went all roid rage for
the second episode in a row. It was obvious to all that he was going to
pummel the older, slower, and weaker Randy, and that's exactly what he
did with one push. But that wasn't enough for the Incredible Bulk. He
then had to throw his bag right down on the defeated and dejected Randy.
Nice sportsmanship! ... James responded to criticism about his actions the same way he always
does, but yelling back, in this case telling Randy to ''get your f---in'
old ass out of here.''
The scramble is on to find the hidden immunity idols on the next episode
of Survivor.
Secret scene (below)
Russell shares a laugh with Jerri when he reveals to her that he is simply using Parvati to his advantage
PUT ON A HAPPY FACE
Randy was a not-surprising choice to be booted out for the
Villains as much like like the poll-taking Internet audience repeatedly votes that he's one of the top un-liked --apparently his fellow Villains concur.
This week was all about the redemption of the Heroes, as they bonded
while catching some chickens and didn’t yell at each other so much.
Doesn’t seem like much of a strategy, but it appeared to work, because
the Heroes completely destroyed the Villains at the joint
reward/immunity challenge. Of course, the glorified mud-wrestling
competition involved zero puzzles and required nothing but brute
strength. But hey, a win is a win – especially when the final score is 8
to 0.
Jerri and Cirie are next and Cirie wins easily, giving the Heroes
their 4th win. Danielle and Amanda dance around a lot, but Amanda comes
out victorious. Colby and Rob then square off with Colby winning. It
is now 7-0 in favor of the Heroes. James faces off against Randy... Not-at-all surprisingly, James simply pushes Randy off the platform in
a single motion. The Heroes win reward and their first immunity! The
Villains will be making their first trip to Tribal Council.
Back at Camp-V, the losers wash the mud and shame off. It was pretty
pathetic to come out with not a single point. Randy is worried that he
may be in trouble as the oldest member. So he plots to get Parvati
off. Meanwhile, she asks Coach directly if he’s voting her off. He says
he hasn’t thought about booting anyone yet. Parvati plays all the
tricks, including stroking him with, “I know you have no fear…”. Coach insists “flirting has never controlled me; I’m my
own man.”
Oh, Villains. That was just embarrassing.
Tonight’s mud challenge ass-whooping on Survivor: Heroes vs Villains proved that the Villains’ entire team of weaklings just don’t stand a chance against the Heroes’ brute force ... when it comes to anything physical.
The
Villains Will Always Lose Physical Challenges: Tonight’s Sumo’an Mud Wrestling Immunity and Reward Walloping Challenge proved that the Villains’ so-called smarts can never win against the Heroes’ brawn in a physical contest.
The “tribe full of misfits” (Parvati’s words) are hindered by scary-scrawny Courtney and Tyson and the older and weaker Randy, Sandra and Jerri. No one can deny the power of Parv’s batting eyelashes, but they cannot row a boat or wrestle an opponent to the ground (or mud).
It doesn’t matter if James, Tom, Colby, J.T. and Rupert aren’t speaking with “one voice” when victory depends solely on brute strength. Too bad for the Villains that James only revealed his nasty nature after this season began.
A blow-by-blow account of the Sumo Mud challenge for immunity and reward
Jeff calls the tribe for an immunity competition. They will square off Sumo style, keeping hands on the bag at all times and try to get the other into the mud. There is also a reward in play. They get luxury items, coffee, sugar, and a week’s worth of rice.
Tom and Russell take each other on. Tom gets Russell in the mud almost immediately with just two blows.
Parvati and Candice take on each other next.
The fight takes a few minutes, but Parvati is first in the mud and Candice wins.
Coach and Rupert go at each other next. Coach gets Rupert in the mud, but it is a do-over since Coach took his hand off the bag.
Coach shows his anger and Jeff warns him to take his anger out on the pirate.
Rupert gets Coach into the mud.
Jerri takes on Cirie and quickly Cirie gets her in the mud.
It is four zip for the Heroes.
Tyson and JT take on each other and in the rain, the mud becomes very slippery. Tyson is put in the mud immediately.
Amanda takes on Danielle and their fight is brief.
It is now Heroes 6-zip.
Boston Rob is up again against Colby and Rob fights to stay alive.
Colby pushes Rob down and slides him into the mud.
James takes on Randy and this is match point. James puts Randy in the mud in just one push.
Randy says, “Classy” and James shoots back with an expletive that is deleted.
Heroes win 8-0 and Villains have to go to tribal council. .... Randy worries that he is going to go home being the oldest in the tribe. Randy feels that if they overlook her because she has a smile and a nice wiggle, and if they don’t take care of business now, they will be in a world of trouble when she meets up with the other tribe.
Coach is approached by Parvati about whether she is about to go. She flirts with him and he says that he is immune to her charms.
Sandra tells Rob that Randy is weak.
Jerri says that Parvati is like a virus and can rope others in.
Jerri wants to bottle that up and use it in her real life, because she thinks it is powerful stuff.
Sandra says she will go with the tribe, Randy or Parvati.
She says she is trying to stay as long as she can.
Parvati works on Jerri, but Parvati isn’t getting through to her.
It is clearly either Randy or Parvati. Jerri says that she is not trying to get anyone to vote for anyone, but she is at the point right now where she wants to take her down.
Parvati says that Jerri is a bitter old cougar and her days are numbered.
Randy speaks on his own behalf and tells Coach that this is Micronesia 2.0 and if he is dead man walking, he will see him in loser’s lodge.
Coach says that there is nobody out here that is honorable but him.
He quotes Martin Luther King, saying that the measure of a man is not in times of comfort, but in how he rises to a challenge. Coach looks to hope that Randy is still there on the morrow and will fight for him.
I love that the "Sexiest Man Alive" looks like a dude that some folks when in a crowd would give ample space to when navigating around because, I mean look at him!
The plaid shirt he's wearing looks like it's on it's way to becoming much like a 'shirt' my brother refuses to part with having had it more than half his life which is now literally a rag. Something tells me that Johnny's shirt too is a sentimental favourite.
Depp also has a purple bandanna sticking out of his pocket which could serve a couple of purposes but is what I'm guessing he uses as a barrier between his hands and whatever handle he does not want to touch. Ironically, because Depp has been doing this for many years and the rest of us caught on rather late, he was bashed as eccentric for not exposing himself to all manner of germie things that he comes across in his travels.Who is laughing now, huh?
Can't say I totally dig the sunglasses but it's what is beneath them that makes him oh-so-worthy of that silly sexy guy award. Johnny Depp fans need no such moniker bestowed upon him. He is the sexiest man alive every year.
