The past, present and future collide as everyone’s paths take some unexpected – and tragic – turns.

This (above) may or may not be Alan and Julia’s relationship’s “bloody end,” but it is proof that neither one killed the other in the cliffhanger episode 12-ending as well as the answer to how Alan is saved from going up in flames with Mother.
Helix: 2.13 O Brave New World (Season Finale) – Official Plot Guide
Walker (Kyra Zagorsky) and Alan’s (Billy Campbell) relationship comes to a bloody conclusion while Peter (Neil Napier) and Alan’s sibling feud erupts in flames (literally). Meanwhile, Kyle (Matt Long) does his best to protect a possible cure for the mycosis.
Alan tries to destroy Mother, but Peter stops him by pistol whipping him with an automatic rifle and crushing his hand. Then Peter sets fire to the room with Alan still prone on the floor with a head-injury and busted hand. And one less sibling, because Peter disowned him.

IDK, am I the only one thinking Alan has gotten out of worse jams than this? Peter appears to have left Alan alone. It doesn't look all that deadly to me.

The photo above has me wondering, What The Helix?
Alan is wearing a patient’s hospital gown!
When is this happening? Is it a flashback?. Is it in current time? Did Alan punch the mirror?
So many questions as we go into the season 2 finale episode.
Since we are on the topic of finale, I believe this episode will serve as the series’ finale as well.
Why? Well, ratings are a good place to start. Helix is dead last in the network and non-premium cable spot for it’s time. Twelve Monkeys, which debuted this season in the timeslot prior to Helix’s, has been renewed–despite getting only slightly better ratings than Helix.
Do I know anything definite? Nope.
But, the enthusiasm of the fanbase which Helix generated last season has greatly diminished as has the fun factor in the show, for the most part.
Now that roughly half the season 1 cast has been killed off/appeared as delusions by a now-dead guy, it’s a toss-up who they may ‘off’ in the finale. Certainly Peter and Anne (Severn Thompson) are prime candidates and, since the episode description talks of a “tragic turn” of events, I’ll guess that Dr. Sarah loses her baby in a bottle.
