HUGE SPOILER Update:

Well, first, thank dog it's NOT Jonah.

Second, the so-called riddle 'spoilers.' from my prior post about this (the link folllows) were WRONG and the blinking garbarge blog from which I procured them is just that.

Third, welcome back Rudy (Christian Camargo)! Woo-hoo. Super-savage Dex is back in a big way if he's taking cues from his badder big-brother Brian/Rudy/the Ice Truck Killer who Dexter killed in season1.

Here's some context from the blog of a Salon blogger who has no compunction about revealing everything about episode 6.06 before the episode airs:

....when Dexter gets Sam's parting plea on his deathbed in the hospital, Dexter is pitched into a new, harrowing internal battle between the light and dark ... Don't kill my killer, Sam implores Dexter - forgive him,  let your hatred go...  He confronts Sam's killer - Nick - and might have let him live, but the taunts about getting away with Sam's killing goad Dexter into drowning the life out of him.

(This isn't surprising IMO, as Dex, when taunted by his victim tends to get hyper-intense about the kill. Dex has lost control before and done non-traditional kills.)

...Dex's killing of Sam's killer was not at all ritualistic.   At a time like this, we might expect some laconically appropriate words from Dex's father Harry.

But what we get, instead, is a reappearance of Brian/Rudy/the Ice Truck Killer - Dexter's brother, killed by Dexter in Season One.   And if Dex's brain is bringing him into view, there is some deep darkness indeed ahead for Dexter.

In my previous DEXTER post I tossed around some of the speculation as to who, possibly an individual or entity with a Dark Passenger, would be reentering DEXTER's life in this Sunday's episode.  Gossip-ologist Ausiello is now confirming that this 'person' (vs. figment of the imagination/ghost) will not be Lumen. That should help narrow it down a bit but honestly, having watched this show for years (and not re-watched DEXTER's early years recently) I cannot remember if I'm forgetting to consider someone.

Also, I keep seeing the name 'Jonah' brought up in speculative threads around the Internet. Jonah, it turns out, was featured in DEXTER season 5. He was the Trinity Killer's son but he left so small of an impression on me that I cannot see the significance of him being brought back other than he knows that Dexter faked his identity in pursuit of Trinity. Jonah doesn't know specifically that DEXTER is a serial killer and he doesn't know the details of his father's death.

However, having been reared by a serial killer may be significant in pushing Dexter further into pondering the fate of his own son, Harrison. If it turns out that Trinity's son now has own Dark Passenger it would further fuel Dexter's anxiety about his son Harrison's fate should Dexter continue to rear him.

 

Here are the latest hints/spoilers from Ausiello as to what  is coming up on DEXTER:

Question: I have to ask, as I am getting quite nervous about the whole situation: Do you feel Dexter will continue past this season?
Ausiello: Not only do I feel it will, I know it will.

Question: What’s this I’m hearing about a major character returning to Dexter? True? Any clues?
Ausiello: True. Someone from Dex’s past reappears this Sunday and here’s your one and only clue: The mystery man (or woman) in question was featured prominently in Season 5. Or was it Season 3? Come to think of it, it might’ve been Season 1. It’s definitely one of those three.

Question: Any chance we’ll see Lumen on Dexter anytime soon?
Ausiello: OK, one more hint: The returning character is not Lumen. “I don’t think we’ll see her again this season,” confirms EP Scott Buck. “She’s a very important part of Dexter’s life and who he has become, but she’s largely a person of his past.”

On a recent Friday, on a soundstage representing a New Age shop in Shreveport, La., another sign warned “Live panthers on set,” but those terrifying predators were nowhere to be seen. Instead, Sookie Stackhouse, the mind-reading, vampire-attracting waitress portrayed by Anna Paquin, and her friends Tara (Rutina Wesley) and Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) were cowering in fear of a sinister Wiccan, played by Fiona Shaw, who appeared to be carrying on a conversation with herself — or maybe with someone else inside her.

When Ms. Paquin visited behind the cameras during a shooting break and sprawled herself across a director’s chair, she playfully declined to explain what exactly had transpired in this scene from the next-to-last episode of the coming “True Blood” season.

“Would you want to know what you’re getting for Christmas on Christmas Eve?” she asked. “There’s something about anticipation that makes it more exciting.”

TRUE BLOOD kicks off its 12-episode fourth season SUNDAY, JUNE 26 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT), on HBO, followed by other new episodes on subsequent Sundays at the same time.

E!Online reported on Wednesday that a True Blood 'set spy' (loose lips sinks ships) says there is a statue of Michelle Forbes' evil maenad Maryann in the back room of the Moon Goddesses magic shop that features heavily in this season's witch storyline.

Rihanna and Chris Brown Reunite *Photos*

Rihanna and Chris Brown are back together, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.

The pair have reunited almost three weeks after Brown, 19, allegedly battered the "Umbrella" singer on Feb. 8, a source tells PEOPLE.

"They're together again. They care for each other," says the source. The on-again couple are currently spending time together at one of Sean "Diddy" Combs's homes, on Miami Beach's Star Island.

Taking a break from my usual fanwanking I'm going to say the only thing I've said about this case of a guy beating up a girl. 

After weeks went by with no word from Rihanna regarding Chris Brown I was pretty sure she'd go back to him. I'd hope not but experience told me differently.

I let a guy beat me repeatedly over a 3 ½ year period.
I even married him. Once a man beats a woman he does not stop. He takes breaks. HE DOES NOT STOP. Rihanna is one year younger than I was when I got into an extremely abusive situation and as "horrific" as her police domestic violence shot is, I had the same type of injuries many times over. The thug that does this to his woman does not stop a beating until he has thoroughly messed her up. Her exterior is a mirror of his interior. Trust me on this one.
Rihanna is NOT stupid. She is allowing herself to be victimized. My guess is at some time in her youth she was victimized in some fashion. Am I saying someone beat her? That is possible but just as possible is sexual abuse, neglect, verbal abuse or some awful combination. She'll stay with Chris Brown until something drastic changes. And when and if she chooses to leave him she'd best have a bodyguard with her when she does.

This upsets me not so much for Rihanna as for kids for whom both she and Brown are role models.

Dexter Marries His Sister Deb!

After watching three seasons of Dexter, one of cable's very best shows, I was wondering how in Season Four, which sadly is some time away, it could maintain it's killer level of entertainment.

I've been enthralled with Dexter since Season 1, E1, "Dexter"  having started watching Dexter beginning with the premiere based solely on Michael C. Hall's work as "David Fisher" in HBO's brilliant (but sometimes grating) Six Feet Under.

After all these years of watching him I would have thought I'd see him give away something when he looked at his real-life love while she was literally acting as his sister.

I totally never saw this coming on Michael C. Hall's side, but what I've mentioned a couple times over the recently finished Season 3 to my spouse and son with whom I have a standing weekly date to watch Dexter, is that Jennifer Carpenter keeps getting better--looking great and growing incredibly as an actress. Now I see that she's only age 29 so must have started "Dexter" around age 25-26. I noted that Jennifer had sort of taken on the role in a way in which it seemed she felt really comfortable in her skin. I'm guessing dating "the sexiest man alive" has helped her grow into the role--of big-sister, Deb. Eep. She's only 29 and he's 37. That it hasn't been glaring obvious is a huge credit to Michael C. Hall's seemingly eternal youthfulness.

I :heart: Jennifer Carpenter. I'm so happy for them both but honestly just a tiny bit weirded out. I'll get over it, obviously (or will I?) but the newlyweds really must share some weddings shots so we can really picture them as Mr. and Mrs. Hall. Please and thank you. (Big Sur! Yummy, though it is rainy season and the winds get pretty stiff there. Still, a beautiful backdrop for nuptials.)

"...They may play brother and sister on Dexter, but in real life Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter were lawfully wed on New Year's Eve, according to Hall's rep... The outdoor ceremony was held in Big Sur, CA. Jennifer carried a bouquet of white roses with her grandfather's wedding band attached.

Dexter's cast and crew are currently on hiatus but will resume work on the upcoming fourth season early this year. Dexter has already been renewed by Showtime for two more 12-episode seasons.

Hall, 37, and Carpenter, 29, plan to appear together at this year's Golden Globes Awards on Sunday. The couple has been secretly dating for about a year and a half and will make their first public appearance together on the red carpet at the Beverly Hilton. The series is up for multiple awards, including Best Actor in a Drama for Hall.

PEOPLE...spoke with Jennifer the Emmys last September, where she answered the question, "Who's the sexiest man alive?" with, "Michael C Hall!. "He's the sexiest man alive. He's one of the best we've got. He's an incredible talent..."

Miley in Vanity Fair

Sometimes, I get dismayed at how female sexuality scares people, especially when it's reflected like today's celeb story on Hanna Montana's Miley Cyrus.

She's 15. She's a young woman.

Vanity Fair Magazine?! asked her to pose for Annie Lebovitz??

Vanity Fair, not Teen Vogue or the equivalent?

I call inappropriate. And if you read Jamie Lee's Curtis's full HuffPost blog post you'll see that Miley is not at all topless--she's backless. Lots of blame go around here with overreactions and twisting of truths all wrapped up in Victorian-mindedness and as Curtis says, "Business," "SHOW Business" or, as she likes to call it, "Show Off Business".

And yeah, Miley's too young if she wants to keep working for Disney to do these kind of shoots (cover after the jump) and if as she states, it embarrasses her, lesson learned, no more "back shots" until she's out from under her Disney obligations to be "perfect." Judging however from recent photos, Miley's going through a phase where she's really chomping at the bit, pushing boundaries, but she'd best not yank Disney's chain unless she wants to be a former employee. We'll see how it goes.

I think she needs handlers that don't include her father at something like this photo shoot 'cos obviously, he let it happen. Is there a Miley's mom or is she a step, or what? Who is calling the shots? Miley herself?

Not cool. She's perfect for a teen's/tweens magazine. But a sexy shoot with Annie Lebovitz for Vanity Fair at age 15 as a Disney employee?  No way, José.

Miley Cyrus is embarrassed, and apologizing to fans over a topless* picture of the 15-year-old Disney star, covered only by a sheet, that was published in Vanity Fair magazine. The photo was taken by Annie Liebovitz for the magazine, and Miley's parents were on hand for the shoot, but now Miley is trying to do "damage control" (or drum up extra publicity), claiming the pictures did not turn out as expected. *(That's factually incorrect. Semi-topless is what the photo is; backless, to be precise.)

In the Vanity Fair article, written by Bruce Handy, Miley is quoted saying this about the topless photo:

Annie took, like, a beautiful shot, and I thought it was really cool. That’s what she wanted me to do, and you can’t say no to Annie. I think it’s really artsy. It wasn’t in a skanky way.

However, in her statement about the published photo is Miley had this to say about the Vanity Fair shoot:

I took part in a photo shoot that was supposed to be "artistic" and now, seeing the photographs and reading the story, I feel so embarrassed. I never intended for any of this to happen and I apologize to my fans who I care so deeply about.

Vanity Fair spokeswoman Beth Kseniak, had this to response:

Miley's parents and/or minders were on the set all day. Since the photo was taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley.

That's is nutz and exploitive.

I agree with Jamie Lee Curtis:

Jamie Lee Curtis wrote in The Huffington Post , "I know how Miley feels. I too was a little embarrassed by my recent topless "scandal" and the subsequent parodies, but I am an adult woman. I protected myself during the shoot and I can take the heat. I only wish that her guardians had protected her."

Evangeline Lilly + Dominic Monaghan UPDATE: Back Together Or Just Friends?

As far as fans of LOST's Dominic Monaghan and Evangeline Lilly  knew they "quietly broke up in the fall of 2007."

In honesty, we never knew much other than what we saw in photographs as the cute couple frequented the shores of Hawaii catching waves. They were together 2 or 3 years and it seemed as sure a thing as it gets in Hollywood that they'd make it official as Evie is said to be very, very, Christian.

But then at the end of last season LOST killed off Dominic's popular character on the show, "Charlie Pace," and not much later it was reported that Dominic was spotted in a popular LA club, very distraught and in the arms of a woman who was not Evangeline.

The couple, always deeply non-verbal about their relationship or lack thereof issued no statements at any time so the press has just kept guessing and assuming about their relationship status.

Why do we care? Same reason that we have cared for centuries about couples in love. It's LOVE. We all dig it.

Personally, I think Evie is an adorable, spirited Canadian gal and Dom is very talented and charming and well, frankly I was hoping for a fairy-tale ending. (You won't find me rooting for the death of other people's relationships unless they are causing harm to one another.) And though not deeply saddened when I heard rumours of their break-up, I was disappointed that a love story I'd followed came to an end.

Or did it? Above is Evie this past  weekend in Los Angeles about to attend Dominic's photo exhibition at L.A.'s Hamilton Selway Gallery! Full video of collection below:

Now, there is not a single shot of her--a model--in the exhibition and I took that to be an indication that they were not amicably split because Dominic included many actors in his exhibit including those from Lord of The Rings and LOST. Evangeline's absence seemed gaping.

But here she is in a funny wig going to Dom's gallery showing. She looks happy. I'm guessing Dom was happy, too.

If nothing else I hope they've reached a point where they can honestly be friends. I realize that it's rare, but it can be done.

Amy Fisher's Spouse Says He Regrets Selling Sex Tape

Amy Fisher's hubby, Lou Bellara, said he regrets selling off a sex tape he made with her. Lou sold the tape after Amy dumped him to start dating Joey Buttafuoco again.

Lou told The New York Post, "We were estranged. She was seeing Joey. I was seething about the whole thing. It just came to a point where I was hurt and embarrassed by it . . . and it pressed the wrong button. I just used that as a vehicle to strike back at her."

The couple got back together this past summer and that's when Lou told Amy he sold the tape. She said, "It's all fun and games," she said. I never thought that . . . anything like this would ever happen. I mean that's my husband, not some guy down the road."

The tape called "Amy Fisher Caught On Tape" is available from Red Light District.

Wait. What? The last time we'd heard from the Long Island Lolita as she was dubbed, she had grown up, repented from her evil past when as a teen she shot her child-abusing, disgustingly too-much-older, married ex-boyfriend's wife. In the face. And she dressed like a PTA mom and was flogging a book.

I heard vaguely that they hooked up again which I found slightly disturbing but chalked up to a publicity thing.

The Buttafuocos and Fisher, dubbed the “Long Island Lolita,” all gained instant notoriety after the shooting on May 19, 1992, and the details of the affair became public. Drew Barrymore even played Fisher in a made-for-TV movie of the events.

Joey Buttafuoco served time in jail for statutory rape, and Fisher served seven years for the assault on his wife.

"The tearing of Janet Jackson's costume was unrehearsed, unplanned, completely unintentional and was inconsistent with assurances we had about the content of the performance," MTV said in a statement.

"Mwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahha!!!!," most everyone else said.

"I'm sorry if anyone was offended by the wardrobe malfunction during the halftime performance of the Super Bowl," Timberlake said. "It was not intentional and is regrettable."

I have a strong dislike for Viacom's stance in this. They chose MTV (the owner of both MTV and CBS) to put together the Super Bowl half-time show and then feigned shock and surprise when the "performers" got raunchy.

Worse than Viacom et al, are media/others that fob all the responsibility on and call into question the morality of Ms. Jackson. Fine, call her a ****, but if you do so you'd best include Viacom and Timberlake. She didn't pull this stunt off on her own.

And please. Get it right. Her breast was not "nude." She wore a pastie.
