Californication – SEASON 5 Synopsis: Premiere: Sunday, January 8th at 10:30 PM ET/PT
Californication stars David Duchovny in his Golden Globe®-winning role as hedonistic novelist Hank Moody who struggles to raise his teenage daughter Becca (Madeleine Martin), while still carrying a torch for his ex-girlfriend Karen (Natascha McElhone).
The new season will answer questions from last season’s cliff-hanging season finale, including whether Hank, Karen and Becca will finally be able to live together as a family, if Charlie (Evan Handler) and Marcy’s (Pamela Adlon) new baby will help reunite the now-divorced couple and, especially, to where, exactly, Hank was driving off into the sunset. Music icon, producer, actor and director RZA (American Gangster, Derailed) will guest star in multiple episodes as Samurai Apocalypse, an extreme-living, mega-rich hip-hop mogul who hires Hank to write a screenplay for his hot new film property. Sultry film and television siren Meagan Good (“The Game,” Jumping the Broom) guest stars as Kali, a smoking hot singer who is Samurai Apocalypse’s protégé, but who also sparks a flame in Hank. Californication is created by Tom Kapinos with Kapinos and Duchovny serving as executive producers.
And CALIFORNICATION's latest behind-the-scenes video provides an in-depth look at the upcoming season as well as input from the cast: http://youtu.be/Bb4xaL6LsbA
Look up high, specifically on the side of the 9000 building along Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, California and you will see a quartet of sexy supernaturals including vampires 'Eric' (Alexander Skarsgård) and 'Bill' (Stephen Moyer), werewolf 'Alcide' ( Joe Manganiello) and faery-telepath 'Sookie' (Anna Paquin).
It is pretty apparent that all three guys are into Ms. Stackhouse but which of the potential/former suitor(s) will she choose? You'll have to tune in to HBO's True Blood on June 26 to begin to get the answer. Until then, keep looking around!
EDIT/ If you want to gaze upon a HQ version of this image, it is a copy of (one of) the previously-released True Blood HBO Promo Poster Art I shared here.
The Oscar winner was celebrated with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame—the 2,436th to be precise—in a ceremony attended by costar Johnny Depp, husband Javier Bardem and Pirates producer Rob Marshall.
"A relatively long time ago, we did Blow together," Johnny joked, referring to their 2001 drug drama, before lavishing praise on the 36-year-old Spanish actress, not only for her skills as an actress but as a (new) mother and for the solidity of their friendship.

Sons of Anarchy Season 1 DVD box set became available 18 Aug 2009.
I remember when The Sopranos was on HBO before it became a massive hit--in other words as it was building it's following to unprecedented-for-HBO audience numbers. Some potential
viewers were resistant to watching it because it was 'about gangsters' or 'the mob', it was ''too violent and there were no big stars in the cast, to mention a few commonly cited reasons for never having watched the show but still offering an opinion that it was bad in some way.
Once many people actually started watching the premium cable 'The Sopranos' and came to appreciate all the rest of the show which subtracting 'the violence' and the overly-simplistic summery that it was 'about the mob,' you still have 80% of the story being about the characters and the story with story setting really crucial--perhaps serving as a as core characteristic--but not the only one.
Sons of Anarchy on FX (Fox Network - 'without the box'), now finishing up it's sophomore season is exactly like the Sopranos--and nothing like them. Very different setting and tone and distinctly unique, well-drawn characters.
You have to jump back to Season 1, Episode 8, I'm told if you want to 'get' SOA but don't have time to watch Season One SOA in its entirety. I still must catch up on much of Season 1 of SOA myself. I'm inclined to lean toward feeling that one should I watch all of Season 2 before going into three, eight months from now.
The season finale of 2 --surprisingly to me, felt a bit anti-climatic--and even a bit forced in places. Not true of 99% of the show that I've seen. Also, its pretty much a certainty that it will come together in a mind-blowing way when we finally reach the beginning of S3 of SOA.
For now, a long, dry period.
Time for me to catch up on Sons of Anarchy, Season One!
I had no idea until today what big fans of Sons Of Anarchy the E! folks are but they have been giving the show some serious love since the beginning for which I must give them kudos as well as thanks for sharing some very hot spoilers about tonight's episode entitled "Fa
Guan," and some awesome spoilers that will carry you right through the rest of the season. Phew! Here's some excerpts. Click through the link to read much more. Enjoy!
Q: Can you tell us when the second shower scene is happening on Sons of Anarchy!
A:The
next shower scene happens tonight! We'll see Charlie Hunnam's
oh-so-attractive backside again in tonight's all-new episode called "Fa
Guan." Earlier this season we asked Charlie how he feels about all his
nude scenes this year, and he told us, "I'm very glad that I made the
choice to have the back patch tattooed on me. Me and Opie (Ryan Hurst)
both have it. I'm very glad, because it's always exciting to see that
piece of artwork, because otherwise it would just be me standing there,
totally gratuitous."
Q: Is SOA going
(to suffer) due to Luann's murder, or do they rally... to take revenge on porn king played by Tom Arnold? And what about Chibs' wife, Fiona?.... Is
she one of the high-profile IRA members... coming
stateside this season?
A: Luann's (Dendrie Taylor)
death isn't the only terrible thing that happens to Caracara this
season. Expect SAMCRO's porn operation to come under major fire over
the next couple of weeks.
In re: Chibs' (Tommy Flanagan)
wife, Fiona, we learn she's third-generation IRA, but that doesn't mean
she's bulletproof.... she and Chibs are about to get
caught in some major crossfire between the SOA, the IRA and the ATF.
Q: Any spoilers about the Irish coming to Sons of Anarchy? They look like they could be the next big threat for SAMCRO (and one Scottish member in particular).
A: You guys know that Deadwood star Titus Welliver
is coming on board for multiple episodes as Irish gun kingpin Jimmy O,
right? ...he's going
to be a huge part of the end of the season. And if you Lost fans remember Welliver's appearance as the man in black in the season-five finale of Lost, you'll giggle when a Sons character says of him: "We both know that he's the devil."
Q: Does Sons of Anarchy have
any good news coming this season?... I need a
little hope for SAMCRO.
A: Opie is your beacon of hope then,
because he soon starts crawling out of the hole he's been living in
since Donna's death. You'll like some of the choices he makes, and
you'll hate some of the choices involving porn stars, but the good news
is that any way you look at it, Opie's getting back in the game in a
major way.
Q: What I want to know is, will SOA be
renewed for a full 22-episode season?! A:... If creator Kurt Sutter gets to deliver on his seven-season plan for the show, expect Sons of Anarchy to continue to happen in doses of 13 episodes each.
Sons of Anarchy airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on FX. (If you've
never seen the show and want to give it a shot, rent the season-one
DVDs and start with episode eight, "The Pull.")
Incited by Zobelle, Clay sets a course for retaliation, forcing Jax to turn to an unlikely source to save the club from destruction. Gemma shows Tara how an old lady handles her anger
Charming and its small-town appeal become vulnerable to The League, which finds new ways to provoke SOA members.

'Falx Cerebri' FULL Episode
It's hard not to want to see Zobelle get his due. Adam Arkin has nailed "smarmy" perfectly.
Tara's question to Jax,"Are you in danger?" sounds pretty darn naive considering that in fact Jax is always in danger--though she seems to smarten up within the same breathe continuing, "Am I?"
Beneath the masthead of Friday print editions of the Los Angeles Times is a full front-page ad for the HBO's series "True Blood." A black-and-white close-up of star Stephen Moyer with blood dripping from the corner of his mouth dominates the page. In news boxes around town, all that's visible is the close-up of actor's menacing gaze and the paper's banner splayed across the top. No other stories or photos appear on the cover, which is actually a separate four-page broadsheet touting Sunday's premiere of the show's second season. Readers remove the wrap to find the regular front page, anchored by the Lakers' NBA Finals win over the Magic on Thursday night in Orlando. Times spokeswoman Nancy Sullivan says it's the first time the newspaper put its masthead above an advertisement wrapping the paper. "One of the things for us is that innovation is pretty crucial in both a challenged and cluttered marketplace," Sullivan said. "HBO came to the Times to break through that clutter, and the result is what you see today." Zach Enterlin, HBO's vice president of advertising and promotions, said HBO had placed front-page ads with Hollywood trade publications in the past, but jumped at the chance to do the same with the Times. "We saw it as a fantastic opportunity to speak to a consumer audience in an innovative way," he said.
Last big family trip until the youngest is done with uni. Thank the powers that we have Maple Lake.
I'll put up a few more after I go through them. There are some interesting ones of the open-in-2012 "Cars" section of the park. Nifty models and colour plans.
My new favourite Disneyland (California Adventure) ride- "Pixar's Toy Story Midway Madness." <exhale> Mr.
Potato Head is animatronic and interactive. Keeps you company in the
line--which we found later can be bypassed by riding single rider--no
line at all. I sucked at this paintball shooting game but it was big
fun. Lots of people said they liked it more than Buzz Lightyear's Astro
Blasters in Disneyland but they are really different. I love Disney but I could have stayed here for a week, just chillin'. It's south Laguna Beach at sunset.
I have a ton of Disneyland shots but this too is in Disney's California
Adventure whcih they are in the process of a near-complete makeover
after only 8 years(!).There were flowers everywhere and after the long
Chicago winter everything looked so _alive_.
Spouse and I will be driving north tomorrow and will be at Lake on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. If I didn't have responsibilities you could not pry me away to come back home. However, from the perspective of being home my biggest responsibility--my family--is also the one that I get the most joy from.
At least spouse and I get to enjoy 3 days of it! Woot!
Wait 'till you see the Moocards I ordered today-almost all have Haliburton cottage country scenes that I photographed. They are beautiful and now are updated since my sample pack--which I don't want to give away the last of, is really outdated and the contact information is outdated as well (one of ways to customize Moocards is as mini-business cards).
This is my alone time. Even the dog has been put to bed for the night.
I am a little emotional. Also I'm thinking with ♥ about several Vox friends having some particularly tough days right now.
I'm glad though, for those that sound like they are having a good time of it. (Anyone for some Spicy Guacamole Pringles?)
Below: Took remote webcam pics today of where I used to live. Where my heart is. Still. I had such fun (back then, too)!
I  being in and on the Pacific Ocean. Hawaii was the best (So far. I have much more of the world to see.). In H.B., once of the places I lived was on a corner-floor apartment on 2nd street--walking distance from this shot.
There are no fires in Huntington Beach or big hills that slide into the ocean. There is Disneyland just a bit about 25 miles inland. Not too close or far. Just right at the time. :)
Yes I know, I've been back--"it's changed." Bummer is some steps on which I used to sit when I lived on 14th St.late at night and enjoy the surf and sky are now gone.
There's way too much asphalt. :/ And not just in CA.
I admit that there was a big storm a number of years ago but I'd already moved to Illinois by then. It did sort of take down the wooden pier which was pretty rustic-looking. (I took a walk on the Pier every night when I lived on 2nd St. ) Actually, the storm-when-I-didn't-live-there took off just the end of the Pier; Other piers, like the one in Malibu (if I remember correctly) were completely demolished. But that's not going to happen again as you can see below. The whole thing is like this--concrete, including the benches--much less charm but safer. For the next hugetastic storm! :p
Conditions were considered "clear." today. To me, the sky has smokey hue. Also the camera has, to put it delicately, bird and other residue on it, mucking with the otherwise nice view.
