As much as I love a solid TV news exclusive like this one from EW, I still enjoy the on-set Tweets from Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter's sister, 'Deb') the most (@J2theCarpenter). Have a look at some of the shots she's posted (as well as a fan shot). I'd bet my eldest son, that Carpenter's onscreen character, Debra Morgan, is going to find herself driving into a pond and looking a bit worse for wear (see photo) afterwards. No context yet other than Carpenter referring to the scene as happening in episode 4, which I guess actually is some context. Check back for more spoilery Tweets from Carpenter and other Dexter updates, as we get closer to the June 30 2013 premiere date of Dexter on Showtime!

Yvonne Strahovski is officially returning to Dexter for the show’s eighth season.
Yvonne Strahovski returning to 'Dexter' --EW EXCLUSIVE
The actress is set to reprise her role in a multi-episode arc this summer as Hannah McKay, the gorgeous killer florist. Last season, Hannah became Dexter’s twisted love interest and a major thorn in his side. When we last saw her in the seventh season finale, Hannah had escaped from prison, and Dex was seemingly lucky to get away from her. “We both knew it would come to this, one of us dead or behind bars,” Dexter said. With Hannah returning, we suspect this time one of them (or both?) won’t escape so easily.

Since the former Rev. Steve Newlin (Michael McMillian) returned to the show--as a vampire no less--True Blood fans have occassionally asked: Where is the former Mrs. Newlin? Now we know:
TVLine has learned exclusively that Anna Camp has signed on to reprise
her role as 'anti-vamp puritan,' Sarah Newlin for a guest stint.
In addition to playing Mindy's best friend on "The Mindy Project,"
Camp has also appeared on episodes of "Mad Men" and "The Good Wife" and
she starred in the hit films "Pitch Perfect" and "The Help."

Game of Thrones - Episode 3.01 - Valar Dohaeris - Review
This is an initial impression of the premiere episode Game of Thrones - Episode 3.01 - 'Valar Dohaeris'. It contains only the mildest of spoilers.
Unsurprisingly and very satisfyingly, the series has raised the bar yet again visually. The locations, the sets, the costumes, the effects… everything just looks sumptuous.
In the premiere episode, we pick up where we left off last season, with Sam Tarley running from the White Walkers and their army of undead. The scene is intense and atmospheric...with a surprise ending. Cut to the opening credits, which feature King’s Landing, Winterfell, Harrenhal, Dragonstone, the Wall and Astapor.
The rest of the episode is dedicated to catching us up with the various players in the story, including those in King’s Landing, on Dragonstone, beyond the Wall and across the Narrow Sea.
Many of these scenes do double-duty, not only catching us up on past events but also setting things up for later in the season like... watching the chess pieces being moved into position yet again... and their potential meaning... for the storylines this season.
And what of those storylines? Every one wants to know how closely this season will hew to A Storm of Swords.
Having only watched a fraction of season 3... it seems that they are still following the main storyline but at times...taking a different path getting to their destination.
There are a number of new scenes in episode one that are not in the book but which blend in in such a way that they could have been.
Others scenes, like in past seasons are wholly different from the writings of George R.R. Martin, but they serve to streamline events and characters.
Season 2 of Game Of Thrones kept most of our characters very busy.
Robb Stark is
fighting for an independent North.
Theon Greyjoy turned on the
Starks but was eventually stabbed in the back by his own family.
Joffrey Lannister is still on the Iron Throne, but his uncle, Renly Baratheon,
also felt he had the right to claim the throne and he received help
from House Tyrell.
Tyrion Lannister arrived in King’s Landing to
become the hand of the king, only to almost succcumb during the
Battle of the Blackwater and then to be cast aside by his own
father, Tywin.
Then there is Stannis Baratheon, also still in it to win
it, and he is being helped by Melisandre (Carice van Houten).
Meanwhile, Daenerys Targaryen is still on Essos with her three
dragons, Jon Snow is still a captive of the Wildlings, and the last
episode ended with Sam Tarly trying to hide from an army of White Walkers.

On the set of Killer Women - Michael Trucco and Tricia Helfer are a brother and sister where her character, 'Molly' is a Texas Ranger (CR: Tricia Helfer/Twitter/ABC)
Michael Trucco & Tricia Helfer in 'Killer Women' pilot day 1, Texas
I think this is inspired casting! After all they were siblings (of a nature) once before. More importantly, Trucco & Helfer are biker buddies/friends offscreen; they have a connection that other actors wouldn't have. And lets face it: They are both gorgeous. I wish they'd let them smile more on BSG. Hopefully they will more in their new show!/end fangirling
(Update 3.11.13)
Before she jetted to a month-long acting gig in Texas for the pilot for Killer Women, Tricia Helfer went over her script while catching some California sunshine.
I hope this is a good show as I like Trucco and Helfer (obviously). Not aware of the rest of the cast. Hope it is good and gets a decent run.
ABC’s Killer Womenwill host a killer Battlestar Galactica reunion, now that Michael Trucco has boarded the Tricia Helfer-fronted drama pilot.
Based on the Argentine series Mujeres Asesinas, the project follows Molly Parker, the only woman among the notoriously male Texas Rangers. Described as a ballsy, beautiful badass, Molly knows how to get to the truth and isn’t afraid to ruffle a few feathers to do so.
Trucco will play Molly’s older brother, Billy, who is married to her BFF Nessa (played by Marta Milans). The actor’s recent TV credits include arcs on Revenge, How I Met Your Mother and Castle, and a co-starring role on USA Network’s Fairly Legal.
Also new to the Killer Women ensemble, which also previously cast Mark Blucas (Necessary Roughness), is Alex Fernandez (Commander in Chief), playing Molly’s coworker Luis.
Gwendoline Christie: Game Of Thrones' Chameleon Knight
Gwendoline Christie - Despite what all the interviewers say, she's exactly like Brienne of Tarth (Cr: Gwendoline Christie/Twittter)
After looking forward to 'meeting' Brienne of Tarth onscreen in season 2 of HBO's Game Of Thrones, I was not the least disappointed in Gwendoline Christie's portrayal of the character, nor in her appearance. Unfortunately, we didn't get a lot of time to appreciate Christie's abilities--her acting or her physicality--as her chacacter's arc hadn't picked up yet. SPOILER. It does this season. And better yet, her arc is hugely intertwined with another character that though a fan fave, was barely glimpsed last season (same reason as for 'Brienne'). Both will (hopefully) get a nice piece of screen time in Game of Thrones season 3 as they struggle through an incredibly perilous adventure 'together' (reluctantly).
In a gorgeous forest glade in Northern Ireland last September, Gwendoline Christie is dressed in armor and sitting atop a horse. Her arms and hands
are bound with sturdy rope. “I can only shake hands with my eyes,” she
says with a grin.
When the director orders “action,” Christie, as Game of Thrones
fan-favorite knight Brienne of Tarth, jumps off the horse and muscles
through some henchmen. On the show it all looks quick and simple. In
person, the action is more impressive because of Christie’s bulky
costume and bindings — just try jumping down onto uneven ground without
the use of your arms. Luckily, ever since landing the role of Brienne
two years ago, Christie has engaged in heavy physical training for the
part. The rigorous dedication will pay off more than ever in season
three as her character undertakes a very challenging journey while
trying to return the captive kingslayer Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj
Coster-Waldau) to King’s Landing.
“We last saw her as a female knight who was very much having to prove
herself and find her place and find her place in society because she
doesn’t have a natural place where she fits in,” Christie says after the
crew releases her from her bindings. “By the end of [the season] she
has a mission, which she believes is for the greater good. [Season 3]
focuses on [Brienne and Jaime's] relationship and the journey those two
human beings go on is extraordinary. We see her in situations trying to
survive in ways that extend beyond her physical strength. And we start
to see her explore her womanhood, what it is, for her, to be a woman.
She’s starts to find out more about herself and about very basic human
emotions — attachment to someone else and what honor really means to
her. In this ridiculous and extreme situation of high drama, she starts
to really find out who she is and what she believes in.”
Brienne is described in George R.R Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire novels
as large, tough and physically unattractive. When EW first reported the
relative newcomer had landed the role, the very first reader comment on
the post, which included a red-carpet out-of-character photo of the
actress, was, “She looks too pretty and thin to play Brienne.” That
oddly flattering knock was a somewhat common reaction to her casting (at
least, until fans saw her impressively muscular interpretation of the
role).
Christie says she was rather startled — and pleased — by the response.
“All my life, all I’ve ever wanted is for people to say — first of all —
I’m pretty. But ‘too pretty’? Is amazing,” she says. “I also loved that
they said, ‘Who’s this model?’ I only ever wanted to be a model. This
acting thing — three years of drama school — is an accident! I was like,
‘Wow, they think I’m a model?’ I didn’t mind it at all. I knew all the
things I wanted to do to become the part. I’ve always been able to look
very different very easily.”
As you listen to Christie, it’s striking how, on the surface, she is
nothing like Brienne — in a good way. Brienne’s personality is rather
cold and humorless whereas Christie is witty and passionate.
Nonetheless, the actress says she’s been able to identify with Brienne’s
search to find her place in the world. “There’s so many parts of my
life that I’ve struggled with — that so many millions of others
struggled with — about being an outsider, about feeling ugly, about
having to overcome looking different to other people,” she says. “The
great thing about this character is she’s found her strength. And this
season, she goes beyond that as a person.”

Here's a Recap of the True Blood Season 6 (&7) Character Casting, Episode Titles & Directing Credits. True Blood season 6 debuts on HBO in June 2013
True Blood Season 6 - Steven Moyer directs episode 6.01 of True Blood season 6. Shown at the microphones is actor Arliss Howard, who plays the anti-vampire governor.
Beginning in episode 6.06, there will be a new recurring vampire on HBO's vampire drama True Blood named 'Wes'.
Wes was turned in the 1970s when he was in his mid 20's. His ethnicity isn't specified. He's sexy, smart, compassionate, protective, and plays the guitar. He's going to be involved in a love triangle with Jason and another vampire ... Wes will be a strong recurring role in the reduced, 10-episode season 6 and a regular in (the presumably, expanded-to-normal) season 7.
Oh, also, he needs to be willing to show his bare bum.
True Blood - Episode 6.04 - Title Revealed and Roles Being Cast
True Blood episode 6.04 will be called, "I'm Your Man," with two possibly-recurring roles being cast for it: LAVTF Team Commander (LAVTF = "Louisiana Vampire Task Force"?) , who prepares to attack a house with his crew; and Security Chief, whose becomes concerned for his employer when a vampire pays a visit.
These guys sound like ultimately, they will be red shirts.
Episode 6.03 of True Blood will be called "Rock Hard Times" and one guest star and a number of co-star roles are being cast for it.
The guest star part is a 50-year-old woman named Beverly Hutt who was a friend of Sookie/Jason's parents and answers their questions about them. The co-star roles are: Young Beverly Hutt, 30 year old, (seen in a flashback), 4 mischievous/silly faerie girls (who are younger versions of 4 faeries as seen in a flashback), a 30-to-50-year-old hospital nurse who attempts to calm a patient, 8-year-old Sookie (also seen in a flashback), and two Caddo Parish sheriff deputies who visit Sam at his home.
Episode 6.02 will be called "Here Comes the Sun," and several parts are being cast for it, including the co-star role of Niall's protective mother (from a flashback scene set in 3500 B.C., in which a young Niall also appears). There's also a prostitute named Veronica (a guest star role) who makes money by letting vampires feed on her, and these recurring roles: a few 20-something "Occupy Wall Street" types, and Willa Burrell, who is Governor Burrell's (played by Arliss Howard) daughter, and who disagrees with her father's agenda.
Finally, a possibly-recurring character, Maggie, is 35, pregnant, and convinced that her husband left her to raise their child by herself.
Arliss Howard (Rubicon, Medium) is joining the HBO’s forthcoming True Blood sixth season in the series regular role of Louisiana Governor Creighton Burrell, TVLine has learned exclusively.
The character is described as a good ol’ boy politician who has a major beef with vampires ever since his wife ran off with one, leaving him as a single father to their only daughter. Politically savvy and perhaps overly ambitious, Creighton tends to let his personal aspirations overshadow his humanity.
The title of True Blood episode 6.01, which is directed by True Blood's own Stephen Moyer (Vampire 'Bill Compton'), will be "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood."
Three co-starring roles are being cast for the episode including: two 'Caddo Parish' sheriff deputies, for a scene in which they politely pay Sam a visit at his house; and a male Authority guard, who sees something he can't believe in the AHO Control Room.
True Blood - Season 6 - Robert Patrick upped to Series Regular
Three weeks after ABC opted not to give a back order to submarine drama Last Resort, the series co-star Robert Patrick has signed on a series regular on HBO’s vampire drama True Blood, reprising his role as Alcide’s (Joe Manganiello) father.
True Blood - Season 6 - Casting News: Rob Kazinsky plays Sookie's New Love Interest
Kazinsky — whose biggest TV credit stateside was an arc as a doctor on Brothers & Sisters — will play Ben, a 'highly charismatic faerie who takes a liking to Sookie (and vice-versa) and helps Sookie and Jason delve deeper into the mystery of their parents’ murders'.
As if Dexter Morgan didn't have enough problems on his hands, his

I hafta admit, after watching the Nurse Jackie Season 5 sneak peek and tease which had NO sign of our beloved Dr. O'Hara, I was just a bit worried myself that the delicious Eve Best might not be returning to Nurse Jackie. So this is excellent news--I had been and now can continue to look forward to finding out how O'Hara will handle the new life chapter of single motherhood(!) I'm guessing mommy veteran Jackie will be a much-needed source of support! That could be a nice flip from O'Hara's role last season as the one offering loads of BFF-quality friendship, support, and strength to a newly-in-recovery Jackie.
Are there major spoilers in these Dexter on-set shots?
'Dexter' - Season 8 - Behind-the-Scenes Set Photos of Deb (Jennifer Carpenter)
There may well be. Take a look at Jennifer Carpenter, who plays Dexter's sister Deb. Have you ever seen her dressed like this? I'll answer. No. Never. Super-long crimped hair and super-short cut-offs make for a sexy 'day-at-the beach' look. But, she's not at the beach. Deb is a workaholic and last we saw of her she was wearing blazers as part of her higher authority cop look.
Could Deb have quit the Miami PD? Think about it. Unlike Dexter, Debra is not accustomed to faking it every day of her life--and to have to walk into a building full of cops each day after murdering Maria LaGuerta in cold blood? To me, that says at least a temporary leave. If you have some other ideas feel free to share them in the comment section!
'Dexter' - Season 8 - Behind-the-Scenes Set Photo of Dexter (Michael C. Hall) Not nearly as much to see here other than Dex is wearing one of his signature sherbet-colored shirts.
We will start getting some answers when the story will begin to unfold June 30 2012 at 9 p.m. on Showtime when Dexter season 8 returns as as a lead-in for Showtime’s new series Ray Donovan, which stars Liev Schreiber as a professional “fixer” for the rich and famous.

Former BSG Babe Tricia Helfer will lead 'Killer Women'

Former Battlestar Galactica badass Tricia Helfer has landed the lead in Killer Women, ABC’s drama pilot about the only female in the male-dominated Texas Ranger Division, TVLine has learned.
Based on the Argentine seriesMujeres Asesinas, the project — which counts Modern Family‘s Sofia Vergara among its producers — finds Helfer playing Molly Parker, a beautiful and ballsy Ranger who knows how to get the truth and isn’t afraid to ruffle a few feathers on her way there.
Hannah Shakespeare (The Playboy Club) penned the script.
Helfer’s post-BSG credits include Dark Blue, The Firm, Two and a Half Men, Criminal Minds and this week’sCommunity.
Mujeres Asesinas ("Killer Women") is an Argentine drama and suspense thriller TV series, based on an acclaimed trilogy of books of the same name by Marisa Gristein.
I have one thing to say about this: What took so long?
Tricia is not only beautiful, she's talented! When Battlestar Galactica ended I felt sure she'd be a lead or co-lead in series television in no time. I got my hopes up when she was cast in Ronald D. Moore's 17th Precinct but alas, that show was not picked up. But this project sounds like it could be a go. Keep your fingers crossed!
It's not as if Tricia has she's being sitting on her hands--she's very active in charities of many sorts and she's had some nice guest roles as well as quite a bit of voiceover work--and of course, there's auditioning. But as much as I love hearing her I want to see her, too! So this is about the best news I could ask for today. Trica Helfer is back!

Deb's (Jennifer Carpenter) new ride on Dexter season 8 (June 2013)
I realized just prior to the beginning of Dexter season 7 that the actor that plays Dexter's sister Deb, Jennifer Carpenter (Twitter name: @J2thecarpenter), is an excellent source of behind-the-scenes information about Showtime's Dexter, which as you probably know is returning this JUNE(!)
Dexter season 8 first read through Tweet
Unlike some celebrities that Tweet photos of their latest meal (or bowel movement), Carpenter Tweets really interesting stuff without giving away anything that would imperil her job. When she's not filming Dexter, she sends out some very funny stuff as well, often with attached photos. So let's look at some of the latest Tweets from 'Deb' to learn what's up with "Dexter" which returned to filming what is probably it's final season on February 11, 2013.
'Are you shitfuckingkidding me?' - JC
Yes, offscreen Carpenter talks much like her onscreen character (in her Tweets, at least).

It's silly to say, but when I take the wig off at the end of the day, I'm rather disappointed when I look in the mirror." Doubtful!
But really, right now is good: critical love, and massive viewership, and job assurance... Plus, she's plotting follow-ups to "my first real job." Like playing Holly Golightly on Broadway, or maybe making a ballistic comedy (Clarke laughs as often as some people blink, and doesn't mind being seen around L.A. with Seth MacFarlane)—or, better, crashing her other favorite shows: "I'd give my right arm to be, like, a random extra on Girls, just to walk past one of the scenarios. I'd love that more than anything. Or, like, a meth head on Breaking Bad. It'd be like Where's Wally?!" Actress Aimee Garcia, who has been recurring as graduate student Jamie Batista, has been promoted to series regular, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Garcia has been recurring on the Showtime serial killer drama, where she
cares for Dexter's son, Harrison while his father juggles his Dark Passenger and job
as a blood-spatter analyst at Miami Metro. She's the sister to Dexter's
colleague, Angel (David Zayas).
Dexter - Season 8 - Casting News - Sean Patrick Flanery gets major role
Masters of Horror - Season 2, "That Dammed Thing" - Sean Patrick Flanery as Kevin Diyah Pera/Showtime
Sean Patrick Flanery will give Dexter some Indy cred when he plays a major part in the Showtime drama’s upcoming eighth season.
The actor formerly known for playing the title role in The Young Indiana
Jones Chronicles joins the cabler as Jacob Elroy, a former
cop-turned-private eye in Miami, our sister site Deadline reports.

Dexter - Season 8 - Casting News - Charlotte Rampling gets recurring role
A veteran British actress has landed a key role in the upcoming eighth (and possibly final) season of Showtime’s Dexter.
Charlotte Rampling has been cast in a recurring role as a neuro-psychiatrist who specializes in working with young psychopaths and profiling criminals in unorthodox ways. We hear the role has a significant impact on next season’s story.
I'm intrigued by each of these roles for one reason: They all seem to point to the noose tightening around both Dexter's (Michael C. Hall) and Deb's (Jennifer Carpenter) necks.
Firstly, expanding Aimee Garcia's role to a regular means of course, that she'll be getting more face time--but doing what? "Jamie Batista" could play a very important role in any information -gathering that might be going on in regard to Dexter. Since she is Dexter's son Harrison's nanny, she has a great deal of knowledge about Dexter's comings and goings, though until this point she has seemed to be playing dumb about his weird night-time schedule. One might suppose that her suspicions are aroused or she is somehow recruited to start paying more attention to the tell-tale details of Dexter's very odd daily schedule. (Side note: Aimee Garcia was born in 1978! You do the math (she looks so youthful!)
Sean Patrick Flanery's casting in a 'major part' as 'Jacob Elroy, a former
cop-turned-private eye in Miami' as could bode ill for Dex and Deb, as could the creation of the character of 'a neuro-psychiatrist who specializes in working with young psychopaths and profiling criminals in unorthodox ways'. Charlotte Rampling will have a recurring role as the yet-to-be named character. As a profiler, she too will be a potential threat to Dexter and Debra.
It's strictly supposition on my part, but my feeling is that in this (supposedly) final season of Dexter that we will be kept guessing as to whether Dexter and Deb will be made to pay for their crimes and if so, to what extent. It could make for a very compelling season but in any case, I'm very excited that the story will begin to unfold June 30 2012 at 9 p.m. on Showtime when Dexter season 8 returns as as a lead-in for Showtime’s new series Ray Donovan, which stars Liev Schreiber as a professional “fixer” for the rich and famous.

APOLLO'S Famous Towel Scene from BATTLESTAR GALACTICA Episode 208: 'FINAL CUT':
"Final Cut," Battlestar Galactica While D'Anna interviews Viper pilots by their bunks, Apollo tries to introduce himself.'
Until now, fans of Jamie Bamber (Apollo On the Sci Fi Channel's Battlestar Galactica) had to make do with the awesome but short clip of Mr. Bamber almost losing his very small towel in a memorable scene from the episode "Final Cut" on the tv series "Battlestar Galactica." No more. In an effort to raise awareness of the plight of black bears killed to make the Queen's Guard's caps--it takes one whole bear to make a single cap--Jamie got naked for PETA. (scroll down)
Jamie Bamber has long been a firm favourite on the sci-fi scene, with his ever-exciting role as Lee "Apollo" Adama in Battlestar Galactica. And now he's wooing UK audiences as DS Matt Devlin in the new ITV1 drama Law and Order. There's nothing quite like fighting for justice and helping those in need – and always look really good doing it, of course!
It didn't surprise us one bit that Jamie is like that in real life too. That's why he bared his skin in PETA's newest ad to help save black bears killed for their fur. When Jamie learned how Canadian black bears are killed to make the Queen's Guards' ceremonial caps, the British-born actor jumped at the chance to help. "I initially decided to do the PETA ad because a great friend of mine in L.A., Lucy Davis, had just done a similar ad, and I love Lucy and it was a cause I didn't know about – I'll be honest. So as soon as Lucy opened my eyes, I was thrilled to join her and do my bit."

Emmy Rossum, who plays the most-awesome oldest daughter "Fiona Gallagher", brings us up-to-speed with the 3-4 months that has elapsed since last we checked in on our favourite South-side Chicago family. First of all, the Gallagher 'family' has expanded by two (and is about to add one more(!). Fiona's gotten her GED so the world should be her oyster, right? She might disagree. Jimmy/Steve has become a stay-at-home surrogate dad which should be a great opportunity for Fiona to get out of the house more...but seems to be having mixed results (something about a man with a mop?). Frank has been MIA for months and only Debs is concerned for him, and --no surprise--Veronica and Kevin are up to some new kinky endeavors. You have to tune into Shameless on Sunday to see it and believe it. And seriously, it's the middle of winter in Chicago, couldn't you use a good laugh?

Shameless premieres January 13 at 9 p.m. on Showtime.
Saul catches up with an old friend and discovers evidence of covert
activities by Estes. Brody and Vice President Walden find themselves at
odds over the future of their political relationship, while Dana and
Finn come to terms with their own differences.
Season 2, Episode 9 of Showtime's "Homeland," "Two Hats."
Recap:
The episode opens with Estes, Quinn, Saul and Carrie puzzling over the disappearance of Brody.
Finally, Carrie has to be the one to say it: "He's dead. If not physically dead,
then operationally dead." If he's alive, then Estes' plan to roll up
Roya will surely kill him.
Homeland's episode 209, "Two Hats," which was on par with the best episodes of a spectacular season 2, kept both the characters and the audience on their toes as they piled on the intrigue.
Among the most "intriguing," happenings were Estes (David Harewood), Quinn (Rupert Friend), Saul (Mandy Patinkin)
and Carrie (Claire Danes) trying to figure out what Abu Nazir (Navid Negahban) has planned, and whether or
not they can trust Brody to help thwart those plans.
Even if Brody is telling the truth, there's
the possibility that Nazir is using him to throw the CIA off his trail.
Then you've got Carrie, Saul, Virgil and Max trying to figure out who "John X slash Peter Quinn" is working for
and what is 'the plan,' exactly?
Meanwhile, Jessica lost no time in hooking up with serious good guy "Mike Faber" (played by native Nova Scotian, Diego Klattenhoff) in the guest room of the CIA safe house.
Cut to Brody, who is, Surprise! alive. A clean-shaven Nazir bids farewell to Brody saying
he trusts in him because Allah trusts in him. As soon as Nazir speeds
away in his car, Brody runs to a restaurant to ask for a payphone and, when that
fails, a cell phone. He calls Carrie and tells her to move his family
somewhere safe, then wait for another call in an hour.
Carrie, who has a vested interest in seeing Jessica resume her affair with
Uncle Mike, sends him to scoop up the family and spirit them away to a luxe condo safehouse where they are free to pursue their passions:
Dana emanating gloom from every pore, Chris gazing like a simpleton at
all the flat-screen TV's, Jessica asking unanswerable questions about
Brody's mission, Uncle Mike cooking yet another breakfast...just like the family they would've been if Brody hadn't returned--which daughter Dana is now lamenting.
Brody calls again and says to Carrie, "Remember where we first met, and I
don't mean your office?" She replies,"In the rain?" Carrie goes where things got started between the two of them outside the veterans support group and jumps in the passenger
seat.
"I thought I was dead, Carrie," he says. She knows just how close he was. She has
to haul him in before Estes and the gang. Brody's recounting of his missing 12 hours is not 100% convincing. Whether he is still badly shaken and is eager to please or if the fact that he omits having prayed just hours before with Nazir, I really cannot tell. His story seems to be corroborated by dramatic reenactments. Does that
mean he's telling the truth? Or could they be dramatizations of his
lies? And how are we to interpret the scene of him praying with Nazir,
which he declines to mention for obvious reasons. Brody says Nazir has decided to "die taking the fight to the enemy." His
plan is to blow up 300 returning Special Forces soldiers at a
homecoming ceremony with Walden and Brody. Brody's mission is to get
Walden to let Roya cover the event with her camera van full of
explosives.
Carrie thinks Brody's telling the truth. The plan, she says, is
"quintessential Nazir." Everyone else is more skeptical. The best part
comes when Saul is watching on a closed-circuit TV as Brody pulls some
'confesses' to Carrie about how he 'only cares what (she) thinks'.
Quinn
creeps up to more closely listen to the interaction on the screen, and Saul says, "Think you're the only one who
understands that this fucker needs watching like a hawk?" Indeed.

NEWS:
'Homeland' Damian Lewis: 'I get lost in Brody's accent'
Damian Lewis has joked that he has trouble dropping the American accent
he uses in Homeland.
The British actor joked to GQ that playing American
soldier-turned-traitor Nicholas Brody on the Showtime series has odd
effects on his real-life speech pattern.
Homeland Season 2 on Showtime - Claire Danes & Damian Lewis (Cr:Showtime)
"At this point, I don't know what accent will come out when I order
coffee in the morning," Lewis joked.
He went on to quip that the brooding he does while playing the
conflicted Brody often makes him appear more intense than in reality.
"I know it looks like I'm thinking deep thoughts on the show, but I'm
probably just trying to remember my next line," he teased.
Lewis added: "[Brody is] a lot of fun to play because he behaves badly
in extremis."
The actor recently signed a new five-year deal to play Brody for seven seasons total on Homeland.
Word is out that English actor Rob Kazinsky ('EastEnders') has joined the Season 6 cast of HBO's
TRUE BLOOD as a series regular.
Kazinsky — whose biggest TV credit stateside was an arc as a doctor on
Brothers & Sisters — will play 'Ben', a highly charismatic faerie who
takes a liking to Sookie (and vice-versa) and helps Sookie and Jason
delve deeper into the mystery of their parents’ murders.'
This
marks True Blood‘s second major Season 6 hire. As reported here last
month,Blade Runner-baddie, acting vet Rutger Hauer has also come on board in
the series regular role of 'Macklyn, a mysterious and sinister figure
with deep ties to Sookie and Jason.'
True Blood's sixth season premieres in June of 2013, exact date TBA.
This story reminded me to continue to search for the names of the new Paquin-Moyer twins, who appear to have been released from an extended stay in the hospital after being born a number of weeks prematurely.
My search had a good news/bad news outcome: First the good news - a photo of Stephen Moyer, wife Anna Paquin and their two new babies!
Credit: Pacific Coast News
The bad news is well, you really cannot see the babies nor do we know their sex for sure nor their names. Anna & Stephen look great, though!
True Blood's Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer have been exceptionally good at hiding their vampire faery twin babies from the shutterbugs (and the world for that matter) since their birth in September.
Yeah, that's like a lifetime in Hollywood.
No pictures of their surely adorable faces, no word on their names, they haven't even disclosed the genders of their babies—possibly until now.
The couple were spotted out with their little bundle of joys in Venice, Calif., earlier this month, and we couldn't help but notice the blankets they chose to cover each baby's carrier with.
One was a pinkish spread with little sea horses and the other was a darker blanket with bees, so does that mean Paquin and Moyer had a boy and a girl on their first try?!
Game of Thrones - Season 3 - Casting News - Coldplay Drummer to Guest
You know your show is a big deal when you need to cast a drummer and Will Champion shows up.
The Coldplay musician will appear in the eagerly anticipated third season of the fantasy drama.
Here’s all we’re permitted to reveal about his part: Champion will play … a drummer!
This is actually the second famous musician joining Thrones during the
upcoming season — Snow Patrol lead singer Gary Lightbody was cast last
summer in a role that hasn’t yet been officially described (Next: Bono
as Ramsay Snow!).
Game of Thrones - Season 3 - Set Photos - First look at Daario and Missandei:
Game of Thrones - Season 3 - Set Photos - Khaleesi & Ser Jorah (thumbnails):
Can't argue that the Game of Thrones season 3 sets and costumes don't look as amazinglynrealistic as ever. I imagine a tour of the sets would be a truly spectacular experience but since I don't think it feasible to travel so afar at this time, these photos will have to suffice.
Despite the inevitable nit-picking from the the devout Game of Thrones 'bookies' that rue the transition of the look of a fantasy book character to the costuming of an actual actor who is not going to be trussed up and CGI'ed like say, Gollum in the big screen LotR, I see no reason to complain that Daario is missing his 'blue hair and 3-prong blue beard with gold mustachio tips.' To be most forthright, this aspect of the series--all of the Mother of Dragons/Khaleesi adventures is the least interesting of the series thus far. To say they give her 'nothing' to do' is rather an exaggertion; to assess that she really does not accomplish a lot given how much time she expends doing it? That might be fair. My truth is that every time I get to a 'Khaleesi' chapter in the Game Of Thrones series I wish to skip it, though I don't. I'm hoping that Emilia Clarke, the actor portraying her, will somehow mine something of interest (besides Ser Jorah) out of the television adaption. To sum up, I hope the whole Mother of Dragons aspect of the books is greatly improved for the television adaption--that, or her screen time is reduced.
Chris Hemsworth strikes a pose in new behind-the-scenes PHOTO set from his Thor sequel THOR: THE DARK WORLD:
It’s been a while since we last saw some images from the set of Marvel’s sequel Thor: The Dark World, but today some new photos have popped online featuring star Chris Hemsworth filming in London... Apparently the scene in question involves the character throwing his hammer down and summoning some good old-fashioned lightning.
Directed by Alan Taylor, the film also stars Natalie Portman, Christopher Eccleston, Anthony Hopkins, Idris Elba, Kat Dennings, and Tom Hiddleston.
Yvonne Strahovski joins Dexter as 'woman-with-past, "Hannah McKay"
Dexter: Warning! The stakes just got higher... again
Debra (Jennifer Carpenter) warns Dexter (Michael C. Hall) that if he continues with his 'life choices' 'bad shit' is going to find him and Harrison. She pleads with Dex to consider sending Harrison to be raised by Rita's parents with his half sibs, Aster & Cody. Dexter strongly resists the idea, arguing that he--Dexter can best raise and protect his son, no one else. It's fun to watch Debra go through stages of gaining some slight acceptance of the knowlege that her brother is a serial killer and then swings all the way to 'no way in hell' can she allow Dexter to kill one more person. Despite her shifting feelings she will ultimately pick a side but she cannot ever feel good about it.
Spoiler hint for episode 704 Dexter 'Run.'
Dexter gives up something precious in this episode.
I am an episode ahead in viewing Dexter and am really intrigued by the Dex/Hannah budding relationship. Something totally inverted from what I expected happened involving the two. It really was executed nicely, turning some rather plot-heavy tables on one of them.
Hannah is 'off' somehow. Her affect is...wooden. Now she speaks of 'rumour' that Dexter was the last person to speak to Wayne before his suidice by Mack truck. Why does she care, given especially what Wayne had told Dexter-- that Hannah wanted nothing to do with him? Strange. Why does she wish to know his last words and re-live something she said she was 'trying to put behind' her?

Roya tasks Brody with a new mission.
Homeland : Bipolarity (VIDEO):
Writer and Consulting Producer Meredith Stiehm discusses writing a bipolar character.
An important part of the reason that HOMELAND resonates with people is the harrowingly realistic portrayal by Claire Danes of Carrie Mathison, a woman afflicted with the oft-misunderstood bipolar disorder. Instead of the 'disease of the week-type' of treatment that viewers are so used to seeing in television drama, Homeland has chosen, with the input of people including Writer and Consulting ProducerMeredith Stiehm (see video interview above), to integrate having bipolar disorder as a very important component of what makes Danes' former CIA agent seem authentic and even relatable. I really do think that is part of why audiences have taken to her character so deeply.
I excerpted an article after the jump which further expands upon how "Carrie's" affliction serves to make her character perhaps the most identifiable for many viewers. It all comes down IMO, to the creatives behind the show including Ms. Danes, taking their character's disease very seriously--not glossing over it nor amping it up above what is believable. It works to serve the story in such a compelling & compassionate way.
BTW, Homeland episode 3 is the one that I 'warned' you about. Your mind will be blown. I can't say any more without spoiling it but I will say it is definitely worth watching more than once!

Jennifer Carpenter as Lt. Debra Morgan on DEXTER Episode 7.03 'Buck The System' on Showtime Sunday nights (Credit:Randy Tepper/Showtime)
Thus far this season, DEXTER has felt reenergized and this week's episode (7.03, "Buck The System") continues with the same great feeling that the show is fired up on all cylinders and burning brightly.
As a long-time Dexter fan, I'm thrilled with the powerhouse performances of Jennifer Carpenter as the now severely distressed Debra alongside the quiet intensity of Michael C. Hall in the title role as serial killer Dexter. In addition, the supporting cast seems to have caught hold of the same energy boost as they each seem to have found their groove for season 7.
The guest stars are intriguing and/or truly menacing and with the addition this week of the lovely Yvonne Strahovski as 'Hannah McKay' and in episodes to come (scroll down for synopses of upcoming episodes that give us some idea of where she'll fit in the the over-arching storyline), it appears the pieces are in place for a memorable season 7!

After the jump: DEXTER Sneak Peek Previews and Synopses!:
By now you've probably heard TRUE BLOOD season six's biggest casting news--that Dutch actor Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner) is joining the HBO mainstay as a series regular. Though reports of the actor's character were sketchy--Hauer will play 'Macklyn, a mysterious and sinister figure with deep ties to Sookie and Jason,' I've got a pretty good notion that we already are slightly acquainted with his character.
Remember Sookie's grand adventure with her faery clan in season 5? And Jason and Sookie's discovery that an 18th-century relative of theirs promised Sookie to a vampire by the name of 'M. Warlow'--the same M. Warlow who killed Mom and Pop Stackhouse?
It is not much of a leap to put Rutger Hauer's 'Macklyn' together with M. Warlow to arrive at "Macklyn Warlow," is it? You're welcome.
Here's the rest of Ausiello's blurb on Hauer:
Hauer is well known for his portrayal of Blade Runner‘s Roy Batty, a renegade robot trying to evade capture in Ridley Scott’s classic sci-fi film. But the Dutch actor has a varied resume that includes parts in movies like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Batman Begins and Sin City and guest roles in TV’s Smallville and Alias. In 1988, he won a Golden Globe for his work in the TV movie Escape From Sobibor.
In further casting news for True Blood's six season, a casting call has gone out for an 'oily Rick Perry type' to play the recurring role of Texas’ governor. The show is also casting a 'Southern belle to play his twentysomething daughter'.
Seems like someone from Bon Temps--willingly or not--shall indeed mess with Texas.
Jennifer Carpenter as Debra and Michael C. Hall as Dexter in DEXTER episode 7.02 "Sunshine & Frosty Swirl'.
NEXT on DEXTER Episode 7.02:
"Sunshine and Frosty Swirl"
Season 7, Episode 2
Episode Synopsis:
When a local convict claims he has new information regarding a
fifteen-year-old crime spree, Miami Metro sets out to unearth new
evidence on the case. While Debra attempts to cure Dexter of his killer
tendencies, the Mike Anderson case leads to the Ukrainian mob, and a
vengeful Louis won’t stop meddling with Dexter’s life.
So by now you, me, Dex and Deb have all somehow survived the immediate aftermath of Deb walking in on Dexter in mid-kill. That was one of the most fraught-with-tension moments in all of Dexter, I think. Debra, though severely shaken, managed to keep her wits about her even as the scene before her and how Dexter explained it just wasn't making any logical sense. Any wonder that this is only the beginning of the Dex and Deb dance that will continue for the foreseeable future? Gone is the sometimes bumbling Officer Deb of old, replaced by Lt. Morgan, who has not only justifiably gained confidence in her abilities but now has the power to destroy Dexter's world, a thought that would have never entered her mind prior to her gruesome discovery. She did after all surprise him at the church because she wanted to confess being 'in love' with him. (Sidenote/small SPOILER: Dexter EP's have confirmed that by mid-season Dex and Deb will have had (some permutation of) 'the discussion' that Deb had intended to have with her brother prior to the 'big reveal.'
Dexter however, has not really altered his perception of anything. Within seconds of being discovered and with decades of wearing a facade of a non-sociopath, Dexter snaps into course-correct mode, making excuse after excuse for what Deb is witnessing, many of which seem entirely plausible--unless you are blowing smoke at Deb the bulldog, who is not gonna let go of this bone until she fully wraps her head around it and when she deems that the pieces now fit. Dexter was beginning to think he was getting a handle on the damage control that was mandatory after being caught, literally red-handed, but the very final moments in the premiere episode begged a very different question.
Stayed tuned for episode 2 which is even more mind-blowing that the premiere episode!
If you’ve been watching Showtime’s Homeland, (which is often cited as the president of the United State's favourite television program) and which just last week swept the Emmy Awards as this year's winner for Best Drama, Best Lead Actress (Claire Danes - Drama) and Best Lead Actor (Damian Lewis - Drama) there's a simple moment in the season 2 premiere of the uber-adrenalized drama which strikes a chord that seems entirely out of left field, yet fits the pieces that may yet come together as we set up season 2.
When we last saw Carrie Matheison (Danes) she had lost all credibility and had been fired from the CIA and was in the process of a desperate effort to regain her sense of sanity after having it undermined in a thorough and humiliating way-- as a result mostly, of Carrie's own recklessness. Her sense of failure was so
consuming and complete that she willingly accepted the risk of short-term
memory loss as part of her ECT (Electroconvulsive (Shock) Treatment).
Carrie must attempt to construct a new life that is separate from
what she viewed as her raison d'être of old, so we find her in Season 2, present time, (about six months past her last-ditch attempt at screwing her head back on straight) using a very different skill set, living a life of domestic simplicity, and trudging off to work at a job that would have bored the old Carrie to tears. In the premiere, she’s calm and seemingly without
the intensity that colored her judgment and ultimately destroyed her career and her sanity in Season 1.
It becomes apparent just how structured and planful her life has become when her dinner plans to make lasgana with the vegetables she'd picked
that morning appear to be about to be changed at the last minute--and she reacts in a very non-Carrie-like way. It's almost as scary as watching her veer off the rails in season 1 because it seems like we've lost 'our' Carrie completely.
Despite having been repeatedly misunderstood or ignored and having suffered the indignity of being kicked out of the intelligence community--for all of that that nearly destroyed her, Carrie was also right that former POW Sergeant Nicholas Brody
(Emmy Award winner Damian Lewis), is indeed not who or what
he appears to be.
Homeland - Episode 2.02
Meanwhile, the man she was so very sure of as not being who he presented himself to be and who in fact was a potent threat to National Security continues to present himself as he did-- as a former soldier, a true patriot, and a devoted family man.
Though his former function as a United States Marine was to protect his country with a willingness to sacrifice himself in the name of democracy and freedom, that mission is long since past him. During his captivity in Afghanistan his official mission was methodically aborted by Abu Nazir (Navid Negahban), through torture and brainwashing, to be replaced with a fanaticism and desire to destroy the thing he once placed high above all others. He may look like Nick Brody, Marine hero, but that man 'died' as a prisoner of war, replaced as we meet him in Season 2 as a newly-elected congressman—and a potential vice-presidential candidate(!)
Damian Lewis as "Nick Brody' in Season 2 Homeland, premiering tonight on Showtime
Life is moving very, very fast for Brody and just as Carrie's old life was disassembled, so too has Brody's and he is also showing ever-more cracks in his life's veneer. The frantic pace of both Homeland’s narrative and Carrie’s high-risk profession continue undermine her fragile new sense of sanity, something that plays out within Brody too, as his double life—that of the American war hero and politician, is sharply juxtaposed against the ideology he is concealing as a secret Islamic jihadist and that carries the ever-present risk of exploding spectacularly, blowing everything he holds dear away, not unlike what happened to Carrie in Season 1. Season 2 has lept out of the starting gate with the story-lines unfolding at high velocity, amping up the tension of Homeland to an edge-of- your-seat, squirmy-yet-highly satisfying degree.
Claires Danes as Carrie Mathieson in Season 2 of Homeland on Showtime, Premiering Sept 30
In the Season 2 premiere, Brody learns he is the political "future of the party," and receives a tantalizing offer from the vice president, while a recovering Carrie receives a disturbing request from a surprising source. In Beirut, Saul gets involved in some cloak-and-dagger doings. Original Air Date: Sep 30, 2012

The new season of Dexter feels like another 'Trinity' or season 1 or two. Very brisk, the acting is primo (as always) as actors who seemed underused are getting more screen time doing pretty cool, interesting things. All-in-all Season 7 offers us a genuinely re-energized Dexter.
Oh yeah.
Dexter is now talking to Deb about his 'Dark Passenger!'
Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C. Hall in Dexter, premiering on Showtime Sunday Sept. 30 (Credit: Showtime)
Just hearing those words tumbling from his mouth, rather than his thoughts via Michael C. Hall's ubiquitous (and exceptionally listenable) voice-over is weirdly creepy.
Jennifer Carpenter is being given some serious screen time as Dex's sister Debra, grappling yet again with some seriously fucked-up shit. The most serious ever, to be precise.
Part of Deb's and Dex's world's have just ceased to exist. Deb screams at Dex after yet another gut-wrenching revelation by him, 'I will never be OK!' In fact, in the first couple days in the aftermath of Deb's discovery of Dexter's murderous streak, Deb remarks to him that Dex 'is a sick fuck,' and that she 'almost turned (him) in this morning.' Dex is a very unhappy camper and Deb is barely keeping it together in a mission to save her brother.
Deb is discovering one horrifying thing after the next and she's only seen Dex in action once. What happens if she 'breaks' (so to speak) and turns him in? This question is one of many surely plaguing Dexter as we begin season 7.

Lena Headey in costume as 'Cersei Lannister' on the Dubrovnik set of Game Of Thrones season 3 , Sept 26, 2012
Game Of Thrones fans, we have some very enticing on-set photos taken in Dubrovnik on the first day of filming with in-costume shots of Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage--including a close up of 'Tyrion's' facial scars, and others you will recognize (or not, in the case of the kid who plays "Pod" who has grown since we last saw him!).
We still must wait until 2013 before the lauded HBO series based on the 'A Song of Ice and Fire' book series by George R.R. Martin returns, but these snaps and hopefully, many more photos, videos and interviews will in the meantime, keep our GoT hunger somewhat sated.
Filming began today at the fort of St. Lawrence in Dubrovnik and several photos were taken by the Croatian press of the cast as they arrived. Lena Headey ('Queen Cersei'), Peter Dinklage ('Tyrion Lannister'), Aidan Gillen ('Littlefinger'), Jerome Flynn (Bronn), and Daniel Portman ('Podrick Paine') were all spotted. The fort was previously used in season two, for Joffrey’s name-day celebration, for the location where the nobles took refuge after the riot, and for Cersei and Littlefinger’s heated exchange about the nature of power.
Claire Danes at the HOMELAND Premiere in New York City
I think Claire Danes is my favourite actress in any drama right now. She is simply unsurpasssed. It seems that the Emmy Awards folks agree as the star of Homeland on Showtime was just awarded her second Emmy (she was first nominated as a teenager for the unforgettable 'My So-Called Life') for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series! I've posted her acceptance speech because she is really lovely--truly a class act.
'Maybe it was the excitement from winning, maybe it was the pregnancy hormones, but when Claire Danes took the stage after winning Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, she didn't hold anything back. When's the last time you heard "baby daddy" uttered during an acceptance speech? Holla!'

And, in case you were wondering, "Who is Abu Nazir?" watch the latest video in a

Babies' sex, birthdate and names being withheld--for now.
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 11 (UPI) -- Stephen Moyer's publicist said Tuesday the British actor's wife, actress Anna Paquin, has given birth to twins.
"The babies were born a few weeks early, but are in good health and both Mom and Dad are overjoyed," Moyer's representative said in a statement to E! News.
The "True Blood" co-stars married in August 2010.
No other details, including the babies' genders and birthday, were released.
Initially, when the Paquin-Moyer pregnancy was 'announced' inadvertently in June 2012 by co-star Sam Trammell (True Blood's Sam Merlotte) when he happily revealed that there would now be two sets of twins-of-actors on True Blood, himself (with Missy Yager) and Paquin and Moyer, it was indicated that the babies were due 'in the fall.'
The fall delivery date seemed a bit dubious given that Paquin was showing very early in the shooting of True Blood (around January 2012 was when shooting for the season that just ended, started). By episode 3 or 4 of season 5 it was ridiculously obvious that the un-pregnant Sookie was being portrayed by a very-pregnant Anna. By season's end Anna was being shot very tightly or from behind or sometimes it looked like they just said 'fuck it' and showed her in all her pregnant glory.
Here's how Anna looked just two weeks ago:
Anna was said to not be due until 'November' when the shot was taken. Boy, did I feel badly for her!
Turns out that 'due in November' probably was a fake date to throw off the paparazzi because as of today's statement by Stephen Moyer's publicist, the babies are a few weeks early. But we are not a few weeks from November and given all the photo evidence I'd say I was right all along that maybe sometime in early October was when the people in the know expected the little guys to make their appearance.
Regardless, it matters not. All are said to be happy and healthy. Anna and Steve will have until January as announced by Alan Ball to be full-time parents to the wee moppets, and Anna of course should feel a bit less pressure to get back down to her usual size 4 figure in order to squeeze back into her Merlotte's hot pants and supertight white t-shirt.
Though Dexter is going into it's seventh season, I think it quite likely that the most exciting part of the series lies ahead.
Dexter, at it's core, is a story of a serial killer and his big secret, the 'Dark Passenger' who compels him to kill. Having to carry this secret alone has led to a pretty isolated life for Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall). Without his sister Debra (Jennifer Carpenter), there's a good chance Dexter's life would have been even more dysfunctional: he may have never married or had a child, which though they did not dampen his need to feed his Dark Passenger, did in fact open Dexter up to being able to love.
In season 1, Dexter declared that he did not really understand what it meant to love someone, believing he could not do so but 'if he could,' that person would be his sister, Deb.
It turned out that he loved both his now-dead wife, Rita and his biological son, Harrison as well as Deb.
However, with Debra now literally witnessing Dexter feeding his Dark Passenger by plunging a knife through serial killer Travis's heart, there has been created as actor James Remar ('Harry') puts it, 'a tectonic shift' in Dexter's world.
This is indeed the end of 'Dexter's secret belonging to him'.
The biggest question to be answered is what now lies ahead? My guess is more--much more-- shifting.
Dexter returns Sunday, Sept. 30 at 9/8c on Showtime.
Season 7, Episode 1 Synopsis:
DEXTER SEASON 7 – “Are You…?”
Episode 701 Written by Scott Buck, Directed by John Dahl Reeling from Debra witnessing Dexter kill Travis Marshall, brother and sister attempt to reconcile while struggling to cover up their involvement with the murder. Credit: Showtime 7.01 - SPOILERS - I think this photo is symbolic of no matter how awful this is going to be, the siblings will get through it. Like the saying, ' The ony way out is through'.
Both Deb and Dex seperately still have their own pretty huge issues besides this one that just ran over them both. The 'other stuff' has bound them to one
another thus far. It still needs to 'evolve'. I'll bet Deb's Q's about Dex just all completely changed!
'Am I in love with him? Fuck that!--Should I put him in handcuffs!?'
Michael C.Hall in Season 5 DEXTER on Showtime (Key Art Credit: Showtime)
I watched Dexter episode 7.01 for the first time today(!) My post **May contain unintentional spoilers**. I assume you read the message boards so nothing really new here except for the impressions Dexter season 7's debut episode left for me.
Debra's (Jennifer Carpenter) is grappling in an attempt at processing witnessing brother Dexter (Michael C. Hall) in the act of a serial killer-style execution at an open crime scene--the abandoned church of season 6.
(I hope they got Prof. Gellar's (Edward J.Olmos) basement deep-freezed corpse out before Dexter & Deb torched the abandoned, barn-like church place).
Some viewers have expressed, during this seeemingly endless hiatus, the opinion that Deb 'should have known ' Dexter's true nature.
Maybe.
Paying attention to these another flashbacks featuring Harry Morgan (James Remar) and Dexter & Deb as kids and their Mom! it's apparent Harry believed Dexter a monster even as a preadolescent--tho' a monster he loved/was responsible for--but could Harry have done things differently and had Dexter not grow up to be a serial killer? Dexter has pondered these very questions. Will Deb too when Dexter gives her the 411 on Harry Morgan?
The episode 7.01 flashbacks do show us how ineffective Dexter's mom was at changing 'Harry's way' of raising Dexter. 'Allergic to dogs' is a good one. 'Allergic' to all small creatures would be Harry's more complete comment--tho' young Dexter seems to disagree.
Maybe the part of Dexter's true nature--one of which is 'to never get caught', has until now been more sharp than Debra's. Debra is behind the curve on Dexter in the understanding the mind of a serial killer, but as the show has let Debra play out her arc as sister-of-Dexter it is only realistic that she shoudl catch on and that going into the last couple seasons she woud discover his big secret and their new reality unfolds, because for this couple, for Dexter and Deb to 'make it past this', they have to come to an understanding of one another. Long road ahead. Should be fun (and probably quite deadly)!
I've always liked this snippet of the DEXTER intro where you see yet another instance of suggesting how tightly- wound Dexter is But I still don't think he could ever deliberately kill Deb. (Credit: Showtime)

In preparation for the Sept. 30 return of Homeland, Showtime
has posted the first 20 minutes of the new season online. The series
that stars Claire Danes, Damian Lewis and Mandy Patinkin — which
averaged 4.4 million weekly viewers and earned nine Emmy nominations —
focuses on an unhinged CIA officer and a very suspicious prisoner of
war.

It's funny that this snap looks like a scene out of Homeland which I suppose is not at that far-fetched. The main difference I think is that 'Brody' (Damian Lewis) would be clean-shaven.
It's generally exciting enough to find out that the President of the
United States has seen -- let alone is a fan of -- your work, which is
something President Obama has openly admitted on numerous occasions. To get invited to attend a State Dinner at the White House? Even better. And then, on top of all that, there was the location of his place card.
"It was made more remarkable by the fact that as I was walking down
with my wife to go and sit at the table, assuming I’d be by the
toilets," Lewis laughed, as he spoke with The Hollywood Reporter
at the New York City premiere of his show's second season. Instead, he
said, "I sat opposite the president himself, at his table, next to Mr. Warren Buffett. And so it became an even more surreal, out-of-body experience."

There's no better time to stroll down memory lane with the Weeds cast than right now as they move towards the penultimate episode of the final season of the show this Sunday on Showtime.
Unsurprisingly, many of the favourite cast and creator moments included the numerous weed/stoner times, especially when Uncle Andy and Doug thought that they should sample as much product as they could inhale. There are also fond memories recounted of the sexual adventures that that Nancy, Andy and Doug engaged in (albeit separately) that are most often more funny than sexy,

Anna Paquin, who plays Sookie Stackhouse on HBO's True Blood will return but only for 10 episodes in season 6 after the anticipated birth of twins in November 2012 (Credit: Pacific Coast News)
As we have been wondering due to two separate MAJOR changes at HBO's True Blood--that of showrunner-creator Alan Ball stepping down and True Blood star Anna Paquin stepping up, so-to speak, to the role of mama of two newborns what exactly should we be expecting/bracing ourselves for, in True Blood season 6? Now thanks to TVGuide, we know. There's both good and bad news. Read on.
TV Guide Magazine: Will Anna Paquin be back full time right away after the birth of her twins in November?
Ball: She is. We're moving production to January to accommodate her. And there will only be 10 shows next season partly because of Anna and partly because of the economics.

Jessica's commenters advise her to 'think before you drink'. A tad late--the video only went up July 30 2012, but Jessica survived both Jason and Hoyt. I wonder how far Bill will lead her? She is not going to recognize him next time she sees him and it's not like she loves synthetic blood. If anything, Jessica could've been a perfect candidate for the Sanguinistas but ironically, Bill set her on a 'moralistic' path mainstreaming and my bet is that Jessica couldn't for example, eat Jason any more than Hoyt could kill Jessica. There are some really nice screencaps of both Eric and Bill and as not-Bill, Director Stephen Moyer (above) this week so enjoy--I know I did!

Dexter Early Cuts: All in the Family, chapter 1. Dexter hunts a new killer on New Year's Eve:
Dexter and it's cast are a fixture at the annual San Diego Comic-Con. Showtime's long-running series' Dexter panel never fails to be a SRO crowd of enthusiastic, loyal fans. The 2012 edition was no different--it may well have been even more exciting than any previous year (remember how Dexter season 6 ended?)
Despite the lack of solid spoilers for Dexter season 7 that came out of Comic-Con 2012, there are plenty of intriguing hints and body language cues that you can enjoy trying to decipher. I know I did!
Media--video--photos--tweets--were flying fast and furious and I tried to swoop in and gather all the good stuff that I could. However, if I've failed to credit someone, please let me know and I'll fix it right up.
Every year I feel kind of envious that I don't still live in Southern California, where the annual event is held as I've not yet attended and I do want to at least once!
Fortunately, Showtime did all of us a big favour by collecting the highlights of the Dexter Panel on numerous professionally-shot videos which I've compiled with other Dexter SDCC media for you to enjoy right here!

True Blood Season 5, part 2 - Kristen Bauer van Straten as Pam
SAN DIEGO (AP) — There's more supernatural wackiness in store for the sex-crazed residents of Bon Temps. The Saturday presentation at Comic-Con for HBO's "True Blood" kicked off with a trailer teasing the remaining episodes of the campy HBO vampire series' fifth season. The fast-moving footage showed Lafayette (played by Nelsan Ellis) channeling spirits, newbie vampire Tara (Rutina Wesley) working as a burlesque dancer (looked like she was pole-dancing at Fangtasia--I think the 'burlesque' dancing is being done in Fairyland), Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) going wild and old-school vampire Bill (Stephen Moyer) seemingly sucking down on Sookie (Anna Paquin).
"True Blood" actors Paquin, Moyer, Wesley, and Woll were joined by their co-stars Alexander Skarsgard, Christopher Meloni, Kristin Bauer, Ryan Kwanten, Sam Trammell and Joe Manganiello, as well as "True Blood" executive producer Alan Ball for the high-energy panel attended by more than 4,000 con-goers. Other than the spoilery footage, the cast kept the biggest secrets about the current season under wraps. Paquin called the final scene in the fifth season finale "very, very crazy," while Ball hinted that the audience will learn more about Sookie's parents, and there would be three new romances. "There's also a lot of people having sex, but those don't really count as romances," Ball added. The panel descended into a howling frenziness at several points during the hour-long presentation, including when "Magic Mike" co-star Manganiello empowered Ball and new cast member Meloni to perform the "body roll" stripper move, and when Kwanten was dared to walk on his hands across the stage inside a mammoth ballroom in the San Diego Convention Center. Saturday's panel ended with a standing ovation for Ball, who is stepping down as the showrunner of "True Blood" next season. SOURCE: AP___ Online: http://www.hbo.com/true-blood

HBO just announced 14 new cast additions to season three of Game of Thrones. Season three also got a premiere date: March 31, 2013. (Video with all the actors below).
Diana Rigg as Lady Olenna Tyrell. Also known as “The Queen of Thorns,” Lady Olenna is the grandmother of Margaery and Loras Tyrell and is, in many ways, the true leader of their powerful family.
I'm especially intrigued with Dame Diana Rigg being cast in another high-profile role--two in just a short span of time. She will be a really good Queen of Thorns!
Mackenzie Crook as Orell. A wildling raider, Orell is a “warg” or “skinchanger,” with the ability to enter the mind of an animal and control its actions.
Clive Russell as Bryndon “The Blackfish” Tully. Known far and wide as “The Blackfish,” Brynden is a famous knight and the uncle of Catelyn Stark. He quarreled bitterly with his brother, Lord Hoster Tully, and the two were estranged for many years.
I don't know Clive Russell's work but he certainly looks and sounds like a good fit for the role of 'Blackfish Tully' (see casting season 3 video, this page).
Jennifer Carpenter as Deb in Dexter (Showime) season 7 episode 1 (Sept 30)
Intel From Comic-Con 2012 Dexter Panel:
About that opening 2 minutes of season 7...
Q: Is Deb actually buying what Dexter is selling in first few minutes of Season 7?
A: “He hopes so… In that moment,” Michael C. Hall said with a laugh. Added Jennifer Carpenter, “She’s just taking one step at a time; she takes one step forward and is sent 10 back.”
Look for Season 7′s Deb to embrace her position of power a bit more than in previous years. “She actually needs [her authority] now. It’s the one card she has to play,” Carpenter teased. “At any second — if Deb lives after what you just saw [in the promo] — she could tell someone to put cuffs on him.” Long story short, “It’s like Dexter and Deb are just fish swimming [in opposite directions] for awhile.”
Jennifer Carpenter and Michael C. Hall in Dexter season 7 on Showtime - Sept 30, 2012
Familial Love?
Carpenter might be alone in these sentiments, but she was not as taken aback by Deb’s seemingly sudden affections toward her “brother.”
“There was certainly a fascination that I thought Deb had with Dexter [early on], so it didn’t feel like it was so bizarre to play that last season.”
However, she added, “I think him stabbing somebody trumps those thoughts.”
