On a recent Friday, on a soundstage representing a New Age shop in Shreveport, La., another sign warned “Live panthers on set,” but those terrifying predators were nowhere to be seen. Instead, Sookie Stackhouse, the mind-reading, vampire-attracting waitress portrayed by Anna Paquin, and her friends Tara (Rutina Wesley) and Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) were cowering in fear of a sinister Wiccan, played by Fiona Shaw, who appeared to be carrying on a conversation with herself — or maybe with someone else inside her.

When Ms. Paquin visited behind the cameras during a shooting break and sprawled herself across a director’s chair, she playfully declined to explain what exactly had transpired in this scene from the next-to-last episode of the coming “True Blood” season.

“Would you want to know what you’re getting for Christmas on Christmas Eve?” she asked. “There’s something about anticipation that makes it more exciting.”

TRUE BLOOD kicks off its 12-episode fourth season SUNDAY, JUNE 26 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT), on HBO, followed by other new episodes on subsequent Sundays at the same time.

E!Online reported on Wednesday that a True Blood 'set spy' (loose lips sinks ships) says there is a statue of Michelle Forbes' evil maenad Maryann in the back room of the Moon Goddesses magic shop that features heavily in this season's witch storyline.

This is how Maryann bought it in Season 2

Sam shifted in a beautiful, white Brahma bull. She believed it was 'the god who comes' (for her).  Sam gored her as the bull--and tore her black heart out with his hands as Sam changed back to human form. It was awesome!

I totally loved this scene with Sam as the white Brahma bull. The bull itself was incredible. Sam's best shift yet!

Or, gulp, maybe both these and more! We have seen Bill Compton getting even with Sookie's great uncle and at the end of season 3, with Eric. Both of those were sneak attacks so we know that Vampire Bill does not always play fair.

Joe Manganiello - 'Alcide' Doesn't Return To True Blood until Episode 3!:

Joe Manganiello who plays tall, dark and handsome--and wolfy, Alcide Herveaux, spoke of  the "new wolf pack in town," and that the fur is definitely going to fly.

"Wherever werewolves go, they never get along, so you're going to see a lot of fighting," he (says).

This, Joe has mentioned when describing his character arc for True Blood Season 4 oh, about 17 times but this is new (to me):

"My character has moved since last season. He was living in Jackson, but all that bad stuff went down in Jackson, so all I can say is he moves very close to Sookie now."

And from Ausiello comes further intel on  the guy who runs hot, (Alcide, of course!)

He’s doesn’t actually show up until Episode 3 (airing July 10), when Sookie drops by his new suburban crib to ask a favor of him. She quickly discovers that his change of address is but one of two major surprises the big lug has in store for her.
