Showtime has picked up a new series from the writers of 24. In HOMELAND, starring Claire Danes, a POW returns home from Iraq and is welcomed by everyone as a hero. But a certain CIA officer is willing to risk her job and her life to prove that he's a terrorist plant.

HOMELAND is a psychological thriller starring Claire Danes. It tells the story of 'Carrie Anderson,' (Danes), a CIA officer battling her own demons, who becomes convinced that the intelligence that led to the rescue of 'Scott Brody' (Damian Lewis), a U.S. soldier who had been missing and presumed deal for nine years, was a setup and may be connected to an Al-Qaeda plot to be carried out on American soil.
Mandy Patinkin plays 'Saul', a veteran CIA Division Chief who is Carrie’s boss and mentor.
