Behind the Scenes: Queens of Dogtown:
Music Producer Tree Adams and Music Supervisor Nora Felder chat about Becca's band, Queens of Dogtown.
I've mentioned before that I just started watching Californication this year (my bad) though I watched David Duchovny in his previous non-cable network series, the X-Files, for it's entire run. One of the things that I'm really loving about this little 30 min. show is the soundtrack. It really enhances the vibe with music that without question, I'd want to hear again.
Fortunately for you, I'm able to give away the Season 4 Soundtrack to Californication! That's right! The Season 4 soundtrack--this season--stuff you have not heard yet but will want to hear again!
The soundtrack features The Queens of Dogtown (recurring on the show) as well as Warren Zevon, Shooter Jennings, Tommy Lee, Better Than Ezra and others!
It is yours for the asking my friends. Just drop me a comment between now and February 26 telling me one thing you like about the music on Californication.

I think the music on Californication makes you 'feel' the mood the actors and writers are trying to portray and gives it that edge - thats soo..hmm..Moody! Would love a copy of the soundtrack.
(p.s. loved A Girl Like You- Mexican Inst...)

I started watching Californication last season (season 3), and the music got me from the start. I felt like the music (lyrics) always tells a deeper story for Hank, especially the ending credit songs.
I enjoyed watching this weeks episode with the Queens of Dogtown, I immediately looked up their music video for Would as well. I love the series for the story, the characters and the music.

I agree that the music helps carry the story at times as much as the video does, or maybe Californication just has a lot of montages...
Not sure about the show having a "house band" yet, but I'm sure it will get interesting. I do have to say, as excited as I was about the covers I have to ask why cover songs with such distinctive and over the top vocals and not go completely over the top? At the very least Danzig has to be shouted at the top of your lungs...
Good thing the album is even more exciting!

Opps, so excited I didn't answer the question... Loved the music of Queens of Dogtown because it has a "Femetic Destroyer of Worlds" quality.
