I don't want to sound mean but it's really hard to compare Anna's appearance on Dave Letterman vs. Jimmy Fallon. Fallon was just a thousand times more into the interview. He was warm and knowledgeable about Anna and the show--and funnier than Dave, too. Dave old boy, you just don't have
it anymore.

TRUE BLOOD 17: NEVER LET ME GO
In Dallas, Sookie connects with one of her own, then joins Bill and Eric for a strategic summit at the lair of the missing vampire, Godric, attended by his lieutenants, Stan and Isabel. Meanwhile, Jason shows his mettle at a Light of Day boot camp, and is rewarded for his hard work with a gift from Sarah. Rebuffed by Tara in her relocation efforts, Maryann decides to cast her spell on the Merlotte's staff, softening Tara up towards her new "family." Eric shares a little-known secret about his past with Bill, and Sookie makes a decision that might solve the Godric mystery--or get herself killed.
What worked-
Sookie and the Barry the bellboy. Unfortunately Sook's enthusiasm about meeting another telepath really freaked Barry out, and he was already high strung. After she pursued him a second time she found out later that he had quit. That disappoints me because it's really fun to "hear" Sookie's thoughts the way we've been hearing other people's thoughts in Sookie's head throughout the show. I hope "somehow" Barry comes back because he plays a vital role in the book series and I can't imagine simply introducing him and then dropping him. This is the time where I kick myself for skimming past the casting news. It really does give you insight about what is to come.
Jessica's ordering a hot young guy "off the menu" and enduring Bill's admonishment before turning on her heels and going to her room telling Bill he would regret when she became "bulimic" (from drinking Trublood).
One of the lieutenants of the missing Godric, "Isabel" seems interesting. She kept trying to talk sense into Godrics' other lieutenant, Stan, a dumb cowboy vamp out for blood and lots of it.
Finally (best for last), seeing Eric's back-story where 1000 years ago he was mortally wounded in battle and close to death, his maker --15 y.o. Godric, who had watched him in battle and admired him, offered to turn him. Even then Eric wanted to know what would be "in it for (him)."
Seeing Daphne's true identity--a deer.

What didn't work (for me) -
Daphne and Sam. I dunno. She's cute but the way the camera kept reminding us of her scratched up back, I know we are not supposed to trust her. I'm just tired of thinking "plot device." Twice would have been enough--last episode and this. OK. I get it. She has long gouges on her back. She either is or isn't evil. Do the scratches have anything to do with her being good or bad? We don't know yet. Why did Sam, who is usually very wary, not ask her after he noticed them and got all weirded out?
Maryann dressed up as Gran. Aw, c'mon. Unless Tara was hypnotized, in which case the Gran outfit--no makeup, loose bun, and Gran's apron were unnecessary, what was the point of Maryann conning Tara that way? Has Tara gone blind? Here's another character who is usually wary and Maryann doing something so very bizarre and obvious had to have registered on some level with Tara. If she doesn't question it in the next episode, I'm going to be disappointed.
On a side note, it would seem that Tara's feelings about Gran ("like a mother"), to whom she'd only told Eggs, somehow got conveyed to Maryann. Wonder how?
