Found at and big thanks to True Blood Italy. You probably know but in case you didn't Anna Paquin won the Golden Globe last month (12.08) for Best Actress in a television drama! Also, Season Two Update on True Blood: "I am a maenad, which is a supernatural wood-nymph creature. There are a lot of strange creatures in crazy old Bon Temps."- Michelle Forbes
it appears that she and Stephen Moyer are still "an item."
Yay!
True Blood is filming already. They are scheduled to start Episode 3 tomorrow, January 28.
Based on this character description and for those of you that have read Book Two in the Sookie Stackhouse series, "Living Dead In Dallas", it's probably pretty obvious already that the director of HBO's True Blood, Alan Ball has already gotten our heroine in deep, deep trouble and she's only on the third episode. I have to figure a way to white out spoilers this far ahead of airing. I'm starting now with white type so you'll have to highlight to read:
The maenad played by Michelle Forbes injures Sookie in a horribly painful and especially vicious way. She means for Sookie to die(!) This is why "odd" doctor Ludwig is called in.
Casting News for True Blood - Episode 2.03 - Scratch My Back (Ouch! That title!)
Casting Call for :
[DR. LUDWIG]
A female LITTLE PERSON, she is a no-nonsense, take-charge medical healer who tends to a severely wounded Sookie (Anna Paquin). Clearly disdainful of Eric (Alexander Skarsgard), Dr. Ludwig is "no fan of the fang," but tolerates vampires as their blood is of great value to her profession.

This episode begins filming on the 28th January.
Here are some cast photos from the shooting of Season 2:
Vampire Bill (Stephen Moyer) is gorgeous when he smiles.
But what is ailing Anna Paquin (Sookie)?
She looks terrible. Is she cold, tired, angry at SM?
She was so radiant when she won the Golden Globe for Best TV actress (in a drama?) just a couple of weeks ago.
Why so glum, now Anna?
And from Ausiello via SpoilerTV
Question: Thanks for telling us that True Blood started shooting its second season last week, but could you tell me when the episodes will start airing? -- Katie
Ausiello: This summer, which means Season 2 will air roughly eight months after the conclusion of season 1 -- a lightning fast turnaround by cable standards.
"Alan Ball is a very fast writer," explains an HBO source.
In other True Blood news, I caught up with Sam Trammell (Sam) at the Globes and he teased that his new love interest (played by The Bold and The Beautiful's Ashley Jones) is up to no good. "I don't know the whole storyline, but I've read the first three episodes, and it's going to be really twisted and dark and exciting. She's got some serious secrets and questionable intentions."
I am now one of those people that has read the entire Sookie Stackhouse series (waiting on the next one due May, 2009) so I can know when Alan Ball deviates from the books.
I think in some places he simply has to because there is a stark difference in the medium of film and that of the written word. (I know. Duh! right?)
Still, the essence of the characters is conveyed effectively in True Blood and author Charlaine Harris spins some really great imaginative, sexy, violent and most of all otherworldly (we thought) tales. To put it shortly: What if the things that go *bump* in the night really exist?

I still think she looks hot.
