I suppose it could be one of the "Head!" characters. Out of these choices, most prominently is Caprica Six (red dress) who drove Baltar nearly over the edge many a time.
The problem is a Head! Baltar visited Six when she was being held in the brig. Also, there was a Head! Leoben interacting with Kara, a Head!Alosha with Laura Roslin and a Head!house scene for Adama.
My vote is probably no on any Head! entity being the (FC) Final Cylon.
Clue #2
"And the fifth still in shadow, will claw toward the light, hungering for redemption that will only come in the howl of terrible suffering. I can see them all. The seven, now six, self-described machines who believe themselves without sin, but in time, it is sin that will consume them. They will know enmity, bitterness, the wrenching agony of the one splintering into the many , and then they will join the promised-land, gathered on the wings of an angel. Not an end, but a beginning."
Still in shadow = unlike Tyrol, Tigh, Tori and Anders has awareness of "it's" cylon status and is in hiding. Or not on the awareness thing. <That's why this show is good!>
"Seven now Six, self-described machines." (above) I believe the last surviving D'Anna will be killed, leaving six cylon models that are not Tigh, Tyrol Tori, or Anders.
Self-described machines could simply be a neutral way of saying the Cylons know they are not-human and they are OK with that.
I'm going with the "very, very dark" ending that's been promised and interpreting "the wings of an angel" to be that of a dark angel. They may be going somewhere but they'll either not survive or not be able to stay. Someone will have a new beginning but not them. Not now. They are, for lack of a better word, broken.
Clue #3
Kara and Leoben walking on what seems to be the dead Earth.
"Kara what is it? What does it mean?"
I don't think she rightly knows what it means and she darn well can't/won't explain to Leoben. Colour me a bit confused. I'm pretty sure that is part of being invested in the story. :)
This is a preview that was aired over the US Thanksgiving holiday which includes a snippet of Clue #3:
Clue #4 Video
Clue #4 Video clip of Lee Adama and Tom Zarek at a press conference.
Lee: "We believe the Fifth Cylon is (dead?)"
<walks out>
Lee: "My gods I can't believe I said that"
Bill: "What was that about?"
Clue# 5 The infant/fetus with the glowing spine.
I do not think it's a question of past or present events. I think it's a statement of was and is.
Clue #5: Cylon Fetus
Obviously, the kid has some Cylon in him or her.
Clue #6 (from a previously aired eppy)
Six: "You or the old gods--which will it be?"
Baltar:"Why can't I just be a man? Why do I need to take on the gods single-handed?
Six:"Oh but imagine the kind of man you'll be when you do. Surely such a man must be magnificent. Larger than life. God-like, himself.
Baltar: "What are you talking about?"
Clue #7 The Last Supper photo released December, 2009.
The photo up top has been altered or maybe the bottom one. Wouldn't be at all surprsied if they are all photoshopped in.
Back to meaning. Laura Roslin and her lit candle are both gone in the second version. Don't believe Ron Moore when he says the Final Cylon is not at the table. He prevaricates!
"The Last Supper" first photo from early 2008 (above)
Clue #8
Baltar talking to Chief.
Baltar: "I know it's hard to make sense of things sometime. In my own life. In my own life I joined the fleet as a scientist. As a skeptic, as a person, as a man of reason. I only need to have fate turn that all on its head. I understand now...
Cylon Galen Tyrol listens to and glares at Gaius Baltar yet again trying to justify...just about everything he's done.
Clue #9: "Sit down, cylon."
Commander Adama, drunk, demands a sidearm from an off camera crewmember, "Frakkin" now!" "Leave it loaded." He then barges in on ...we've seen the scene elsewhere--it's Tigh to whom Adama barks, "Sit down, Cylon."
Clue #10
Felix and Baltar.
Felix:"I suppose a long time ago it was architecture. I tell you one thing though, I had some pretty frakking amazing ideas. Restaurants shaped like food.Top heavy buildings and stairways. Everything had to have a stairway. I just hope. I hope that people realize, eventually who I am."
Hmm.
So why are Baltar and Gaeta seeming to be having a wee tête-à-tête? I really don't know. Perhaps we'll find out when we have some context to the scene.
Clue #11 is a very dense clue, a static-y audio clip from You Will Know The Truth that could be listened to and dissected forever (it's Christmas--not happening if you have a life!)
It's that weaselly Tom Zarek talking about a rebellion: "Every revolution begins when one small act occurs. But I hope you understand how serious this is..." and then it fades out. Other voices include someone saying "Our little secret," Baltar,(speaking to Gaeta?), "You know exactly what I'm talking about." Sharon saying, "Or anyone else," and Gaeta saying, "So I guess a pity frak is out of the question then?" (I'm thinking this could fit in well following Felix's return from his webisode adventure).
It ends with the chimes of church bells--12 rings.
Clue #12
Starbuck sits, reading a book. Commotion ensues. Over the speakers it is announced that everyone must evacuate.
(Fan speculation is that it is a phony fire that is part of a mutiny led by Tom Zarek that has been overtly alluded to in the promo clips.) My fondest wish is that Zarek dies SOON!
It is sort of strange as Starbuck rushes out and notes that the crewman in charge of the evac is a former pilot from the Pegasus, not the Galactica. He spits out at Starbuck that she's to follow orders and for good measure, "Gawds, nobody even knows what you are anymore!
He leaves. She utters "Son-of-a-bitch!" and goes running toward the (alleged) fire.
Clue #13
A video clip from the first half of S4, "Guess What's Coming To Dinner." The clip includes Adama (the only one with dialogue), Roslin, Helo, and Tigh. Adama wants to "put a lid on" betraying the rebel Cylons by keeping the Final Five in Fleet custody until they reach Earth. He states that the "real plan" will stay in that room. Adama instructs Helo to have someone escort rebel Cylon leader Natalie back to her basestar to inform her people that they have a deal. If you recall this eppy, at the same time, the rebel Cylons were making contingency plans of their own to betray the humans.
Clue #14
Bill Adama walks into his quarters, grabs a swig of whiskey and goes to the sink to splash his face. He is agitated but grows positively panic-stricken when he first hears and then sees a huge crease forming in the Galactica's walls. The ship appears to be falling apart.
Contains a lot of static. From the Scifi website forum and other chat areas I've found some translation. Thanks to all who spent probably too much time on this.
Partial Audio transcript: (Craploads of static)
Hoshi: They're communicating with Colonial One, sir.
Adama: Let's hear it
Gaeta: What do you want, Gaius?
Baltar:I want this to stop right now. This is madness, Felix. I know you’re a good man. You, you want to do the right thing...You know exactly what I'm talking about.
Tigh: You're the fifth
Baltar: Our little secret, but I forgive you for that day. If you are hungering for redemption this is not the way.
Gaeta: Goodbye, Gaius...
Baltar: Felix, please listen.
"Do you remember when we talked about how to get to ____?"
"I just think I've earned, the right to live a little before I die." (Laura Roslin?)
"What do you think?"
"I'm next."
"We believe the fifth cylon to be dead." (Lee?)
"fiffe for three" (Tigh) <Tigh is saying "you're the fifth" backwards.>
I agree it may be Kara whispering about Earth.
