Al Franken
...may have a shot in the Minnesota race for Senate that still hasn't been finalized.
Al Franken got very serious about politics after "Stuart Smalley Saves His Family" lost $10 million at the box office, according to it's star Al Franken, a Democrat. He did much stumping for candidates he supports--especially in his home state of Minnesota and wrote 3 best-selling books books.
I've read some of his stuff. He's bright and he's passionate about the cause (saving the world via Minnesota) and he's amusing and touching even--in that Stuart Smalley way.
Al Franken as Stuart Smalley says, "I am a worthy human being"
and maybe Minnesota thinks he is,too.
"On SNL's Weekend Update segment in the late 1970s, Al Franken spoofed his ideas with a familiar line: "Vote for me, Al Franken. You'll be glad you did!" LOL
