S3 E07 Dexter, S3, Episode 07 "SI SE PUEDE"
Dexter grapples with what to do with his new found friend, Miguel, who thinks he is clued in to Dexter’s vigilante ways. So Dexter decides to test him to see how far he wants to go. Dexter reveals that he’s always wanted to bring a violent white supremacist who is already in jail, to his brand of ‘justice.’ Thinking this will force Miguel to back away, Dexter is surprised to find that Miguel is not only on board, but he has a daring strategy to complete Dexter’s dark plan. Simultaneously, Rita gets fired from her job, leaving her wondering if she will ever have a real career. Debra is upset when she realizes she may be partially responsible for another mysteriously skinned homicide case she’s trying to solve.
The mind games between new friends Dex and Miguel continue with their ongoing game of oneupmanship.
Though Dexter--a serial killer, cannot be considered "a good guy," Miguel Prado may carry even worse demons within him--or perhaps he's simply a demon himself. As ghosts of his past indiscretions as ADA bubble up to the surface he seems less and less like one of the good guys fighting to put bad guys away and more like a vicious crusader with his own agenda (yes, that could describe Dex as well).
Deb is crushed to find that 15-y.o Wendell, who she interviewed as a possible witness in re: the Freebo case is now a victim of "The Skinner." Worse, The Skinner seems to be following her investigation very closely and killing those that she interviews. Understandably, she's pretty freaked by this and turns to an unlikely source of comfort--or maybe you saw that coming, :) CI "Anton" (David Ramsey).
From the reviews I've read 'round the Internet some folks think Dexter has gone "flat" (I'm talking to you, Ausiello). I disagree. Again, I raise the point that this is the third season and the newness has worn off. This episode may have lacked some of the edginess that has been characteristic of "Dexter" but the performances, especially by Jennifer Carpenter as Debra (is she getting better each season or what?!) and the reliably great Michael C. Hall as the lead, always make the show worth watching.
At the moment Dex is not feeling the horrible loneliness that has plagued him previously. He's got Rita and the kids (and another on the way) and in Miguel Prado he's found what it's like to have a male buddy--or so he imagines. What Dexter knows for certain is that Miguel knows what he is and doesn't judge him--rather he does the opposite and applauds Dex's avenging persona.
We the audience know that this cannot end well--but how will it end?
"Dexter" the show is still quite compelling and if the naysayers want to settle in with their commercial television instead--more power to them. I'm sticking with Dexter.

Miguel offers Dexter a new potential victim, but after properly vetting her, Dexter isn’t sure she fits the Code. When he informs Miguel of this, he reacts with anger, making Dexter believe the new friendship is in danger. An old sickly friend of Dexter’s, Camilla, reinforces this idea, when she asks Dexter to help end her life, insisting she would never ask a friend to do something against his conscience. Meanwhile, Rita finds out that Sylvia is beginning to suspect her husband, Miguel, is having an affair. Debra ends up revealing to Anton that he is being used as bait to lure the Skinner, forcing her to find new way to find the Skinner. As a result, Anton realizes Debra cares for him more than he thought.
Slight Spoiler About Upcoming Episode 3.09 - "The Damage A Man Can Do":
Miguel not only brings Dexter another potential target but wants in on the action; Rita's pregnancy causes her to fear that Dexter will lose interest in her; Debra's digging gets her closer to nabbing the Skinner, and upon discovering a secret about her new boyfriend, Anton, he disappears.
