Battlestar Galactica, Half-Season Four Finale ~410~Revelations~ Screen Caps, *SPOILERS* FINAL
Holy cow, I love this episode beyond the saying of it, and 'thank you' to the fans who have been going out of their way to tell all of us that, too. Adama's reaction to the reveal was stunning -- my gods -- and Starbuck-- her face said it all. A thunderclap. Simply beautiful. You wouldn't want more and you can't imagine less. I'm stating the obvious when I say that a more labored reaction would've attenuated the emotions, given the characters a chance to gather themselves before the big blow that was to come, which certainly would be a mistake. And there's a difference, of course, between finding out that your XO is a Cylon if he's handing you a giftbox filled with a fertile verdant Earth, and finding out that he's holding a cinder-planet. I think the *real* reactions are yet to come, just like in life. The beauty of this episode is in its urgency, in the tumbling breathless slide that lands us on that grim gray unfamiliar beach... It's so gray, in fact, that I think it earns the British spelling. It's grey, which is even worse.

I'm not sure where I got this--but it's good!
..and we cut to Sam,
Tyrol and Kara standing around the pristine Viper. She insists that there's nothing unusual about the Viper, but Sam tells her to check it over again, because something has changed. Suddenly guards dash into the room and tell Sam and
Tyrol to put their hands on their heads. Kara's confused until one of the guards explains that they're the other two Cylons. Kara looks at Sam, not believing what she's hearing, but at
Tyrol's urging, Sam confirms that yes, it's true.
Starbuck looks like she's choking on a sea urchin."
Thanks for capping, creative muse!
Kara's Viper: Time running out...
A bunch of Cylon Centurions and from left, Galen Tyrol and Sam Anders, half of the Dylan-Watchtower-Final Four.
Kind of uncomfortable for everyone involved. I imagine especially for the Dylans/Finals who remained on Galactica.
Argh. It still kills me how craptastic Chief's life is. The showrunners in pre-Season 4 interviews said that Tyrol would have a "rough" season. I hope they meant "first half" and that there is some hope for this character at the some point in the rest of the series. I know, doubtful.
Regardless, Aaron Douglas has gotten some nice work in this show and he's done a fine job with it. He's right up there with (Michael) Hogan, IMO. Chief has the ability the make the audience empathize with him. "Chief," as we've known him for almost the entire series, is now "Specialist" Galen Tyrol. After the reveal I have no idea what he's doing! A very flawed man but in some ways a very pure, real man.
An intense set of screen shots in which Lucy Lawless' "Number Three" locks eyes with one of the newly aware secret Final Four Cylons. Saul Tigh looks damned uncomfortable, doesn't he?
Three had to be lying when she said she'd been in touch with the four. I'll bet Tory got in touch with D'Anna/Number 3 and revealed the Four. Tigh, Anders and Tyrol all got sideswiped. Tory gave them up. She is a nasty one.

Sam knew this was coming--just not now.
Tyrol knew their time would soon be up as well. He among the four is most prepared mentally, IMO Tyrol's done his meltdown. Remember the dream on him flying off the upper deck of the hanger? He saw "Brother Cavil assured him that if Chief were Cylon, Cavil would have seen him at the Cylon party's--and he hadn't(!)
Which we know now is true and even that Cavil has gone out of his way to avoid the heretofore unknown humanoid Cylons.
Not Sam or Tory or arguably even Tigh have had their total meltdown yet. Though it looked from the last shot of Tigh and his bottle on the Galactica and Tigh and Caprica on scorched Earth, that his interesting storyline isn't up yet. Should be cool to see! In 2009 <sigh>
Disbelief
An inkling?
Tyrol urges Sam to confess to Kara.
Wait, What?!
Arrested for being half of the Final Four.
Still holds out hope.
Stunned?
Back to work. Have to find out about whatever is weird about her Viper--besides that it had previously exploded and then reassembled itself into mint condition...
And cue the excitement to begin about finding "Earth."
Stops Lee from airlocking Tigh.
"Those three frakking Cylons just gave us Earth!"
Sam can't look at her. He's ashamed of his Cylon heritage.
Some people are assuming that Kara-who-came-back-from-the dead and is probably not human will divorce or dump Sam but I'm not so sure. She sure looks like she still loves him (or loves him, after all).
Look who she is not shooting.
More later. Here.
