Because yes, it is just that bad.
"It" being the two-year long circus side show that leads to the election of the leader of the free world. I can remember back, a long, long, time ago when "used car salesman" was one of the least respected and trusted positions one could hold. Surely now "journalist," a word that truly has been sullied by the bearers of that moniker, has now taken over that dubious position. Also, I don't know whether to laugh or cry when I admit like so many other folks, that I get my television news mostly from The Daily Show w/ Jon Stewart or The Colbert Report.
