Below is great little little segment of the Today Show featuring Johnny Depp and Tim Burton discussing the film Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
I found Depp to be every bit the guy that we all hear about, completely without ego, shy even, and according to Tim Burton, "scared" to watch himself on film. The interviewer queries Depp, who has made eight films with Tim Burton, about whether Depp has seen any of them. Clearly uncomfortable with the line of questioning but ever-polite and self-effacing, Depp admits to having seen "a couple" of them.
Synopsis: Sweeney Todd (formerly Benjamin Barker) returns to London after being set up and banished for life by Judge Turpin (Alan Rickman). He opens a barber shop above Mrs. Lovett's Meat Pie Shop where she sells "the worst pies in London." With the help of Mrs. Lovett, SweeneyTodd tries to rid London of all the people who have ever done him wrong while hoping to be reunited with his daughter who is now Judge Turpin's ward.
Sweeney Todd is based on the hit Broadway hit musical by Stephen Sondheim.
Two previews of the film after the jump. The second one is quite bloody.

It's funny everyone but Depp references 21 Jump St. but he does not want to speak of it. He felt pimped out by the Hollywood machine.
He seems a lot happier now he's got about as much control of it as an A-list actor can.

Underrated actor. He was even terrific early in his career, on "21 Jump Street."
