Each year we go to Goebbert's Farm in South Barrington for our seasonal smaller gourds and then, because the large pumpkins are a bit pricey we go elsewhere for them. This year spouse found "big" pumpkins for $3 each at Meier(sp).
I'm not fond of the yucky stuff inside the pumpkins. When the kids were little I'd make myself help them scrape the pumpkin guts out (and I did mine as well). Now that the youngest is 15 y.o., he and his dad do the carving and scraping and I do the picture-taking. It seems to suit us all fine.
I didn't do the not- photographs--the last two with skull motifs--they are just to brighten things up. El Dia De Los Muertos celebrates life.
