I'm time crunched with a Go!Bears dinner at my brother's tomorrow out in Evanston. The dinner was to have been in late celebration of Groundhog Day--the only holiday my brother feels is worth celebrating. On the way there I'd like to get a snap of the lions in Bears helmets at the Art Institute Of Chicago (one of my Very Favourite places in the City). Also, at Daley Plaza, a Picasso public art work. In it's natural state, it's pretty unspectacular, IMO.
I like to go to Chicago first even though Evanston is to the North and we are coming from the NW 'burbs.
Sucks though since we rarely visit my brother and his wife that tomorrow no way, no how will it be walk-a-couple-of-blocks-to-Lake Michigan-weather. Single digit temperatures plus wind chill tomorrow so I'll ask spouse to drive us by slowly. It's partly a residential neighbourhood by the Lakefront in Evanston so you have to drive kinda slow and and carefully as it winds around, following Lake Michigan in places.
Perhaps a Bears jersey will make the Daley Center Picasso more eye-appealing. I think the Field Museum of Natural History has put a Bears jersey on an outdoor lifesize dinosaur display but I doubt we'll have time to drive up to Museum Campus this trip.
I'd love too, to see the lights of lots of big buildings...and try for some photos. I won't have time to get night time pics--it's a work/school night...maybe I'll beg.
I'll try mapping a route of the Go!Bears strategic lighting on big buildings in the city after the Superbowl if we win.
