(It's interesting how blogs evolve. My VOX blog was to be my fun, kind of throwaway blog. Quite fortunately, though I still do a lot of fan-wanking at VOX, I've had the pleasure of meeting some first-class people. They are keepers.)
Okay then, five things that no one here knows (sorry, had to cheat a bit).
1. I'm Canadian, even though I've lived most of my life in the States--Connecticut, California, Texas, Illinois. My entire extended family lives in the Toronto area.
2. I have had a weight "problem" since age six. I've gained and lost hundreds of pounds in my 47 years but I stopped dieting about ten years ago and my weight has stabilized, give or take 5-10 lbs. I still obsess too much , tho'.
3. I love to swim. I feel that I must have been some kind of sea creature in a previous life--a dolphin would be cool.
4. My best vacation ever was to Hawaii--where I had wanted to venture since I was a teen--in 2005 where spouse and I were in heaven snorkeling to our heart's content.
5. I went to school for a long time and became a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. Three years later I went into heart failure, very nearly died, and am now "retired." Of all the reveals here this one feels most uncomfortable because I know people sometimes have preconceived notions of therapists. Just remember if you would, like car mechanics and hair stylists, there are good, bad, and indifferent therapists. ;)
