This is how I first got acquainted with September 11, 2001--moving & still pictures. My spouse had phoned home from work suggesting I take a look . I was asleep being a fairly new heart failure patient and I thought it odd that he should urge me to watch news of it as he knows I don't watch television during the day. When I tuned in the second building had just been hit--neither had yet collapsed. I sat--all day-- transfixed and horrified by the televised events.
The only televised events comparable to 9/11 that I can recall seeing are when JFK was shot--hours and hours of televised coverage. I was not yet five years--old but I can still remember that--mostly the feeling. Then in 1972 when I was age 12 that awful massacre of Israeli Olympic athletes who in the first hours of the attack were believed to have possibly been alive.
It's the same with 9/11--the awful feeling that creeps back as the video is played back.
The folks you can see in the shot on the left of the 'screen' are the lucky ones that lived to tell about day-- like Pearl Harbor-- "that shall forever live in infamy."

Damn those bastards. How do we seek retribution without fucking up the universe?
