Oooh, high school parent Open House tonight. Starts at 6:30...and there's no planned ending! Woot! Think I'm a gonna go to the "resource center" where all the guidance counselors are staked out and hang with my homies. (I used to counsel familys, couples & individuals.) Otherwise, my trek will consist of following a "compressed schedule" where each of my son's classes is slated to go for just enough time for the last parent straggler to come in and the teacher to begin to speak and then for the "class" to end so we can spend almost as much time jogging to the next class. I sound much too pessimistic. I'd better start working on my glad-to-be here smile now! Note: Since early summer, I have visited my son's new high school about one half-dozen times for orientation-type activities. Is there a time when we are allowed to be done? His grades are posted on-line and I have all his teacher's email addy's & phone numbers.* Maybe more imporatantly most of the time I am home when he gets home and we do our "debriefing" or deconstruction of his day/what he still needs to do. Can I be informed enough now? Pul-leeeze? |
