Wow, where to begin…I taught grade school art today—mostly 1st graders. My very first class a little boy threw up—on another boy too—much spewage—and we were out in a trailer in higher eighties heat and bright sun. I won't go on about how the trailer uh, portable classroom smelled the rest of the day. I was happy enough that I got the class pretty much back on task once the janitor had come and mopped up and sprayed the biohazard. It’s wasn’t entirely horrible though –and considering this school is one of the lower performing schools in the district & overcrowded to boot—I was pleasantly surprised.
Sleep's been horrible…won’t even go into that.
We are going to the 86th annual German American Festival in Chicago on Sunday after Roger finishes work. I’m excited! Chris will get full credit for a major project in his German II class if he writes about the fest, which features food, beer & wine, music, dancing, & cultural (something). I’m interested in the food, beer & music. It’s in the fun Lincoln Square area which we haven’t really hung out in for years (shame on us). I need to get some rest. Have a great weekend! --Cyn
