I love this political cartoon featuring the star of my all-time favourite movie franchise "Alien," which suggests that Ann Coulter and the Alien are one and the same. Close maybe but all the Alien did was hunt and devour. Pure "id," if you will.
She also wrote, "I've never seen people enjoying their husbands' deaths so much."
Former White House adviser David Gergen, quoted by NBC News, said, "It's the ugliness of the charge that she's making and the ugliness of the words she's using that are drawing attention to her, but it's almost like she's a figure in a circus and you say, `Oh my God, can you believe that?'"
Her criticism targets four New Jersey women--she dubbed them "The Witches of East Brunswick," after the town where two of them live-- Kristen Breitweiser, Lorie Van Auken, Mindy Kleinberg and Patty Casazza.
The four have spent the years since the 2001 terror attacks supporting an independent commission to examine government failures before the attack, and in the 2004 presidential campaign they endorsed Democratic candidate John Kerry.
The women, who are still pushing for changes in how the government guards against future attacks, issued a statement after Coulter's TV appearance.
"We have been slandered. Contrary to Ms. Coulter's statements, there was no joy in watching men that we loved burn alive. There was no happiness in telling our children that their fathers were never coming home again. We adored these men and miss them every day," their statement said.
Figure in a circus? Okay, I can buy that but it's pretty mild.

Bingo. You nailed it. Coulter killed any credibility she may have had with those comments. It's just not responsible to make statements like this when so many people are still in pain five years later. Her career is over, in my opinion. Look for her book in the discount bins this holiday season.
