It's my son's birthday and instead of going out to dinner he wanted to go out to breakfast (as his morning schedule and mine don't quite match usually--so we never do).
So we did a buffet thing despite my giving him choices less...dangerous.
Ugh. Up too early, ate too match of all kinds of bad-for- you food. I really didn't stuff myself--it's just that normally I have coffee, juice and cereal at about 12 noon as my first meal of the day, not eggs benedict, bacon and ahem: some pastry-type fare. Blergh!
On the positive side, as we were leaving he politely said he wasn't going to want to try that again anytime in the near future.
I went back to bed when we got home as I really felt crummy and have now been up about 15 minutes. It's an okay day--mostly cloudy--but okay for swimming. Spouse has to work (though he went to breakfast) and son wants me to take him to Blockbuster in order for him to have his "own" card. I said okay before really thinking about it but I suppose if push comes to shove I'll just remove him from the account. I'm really hoping that the year he's had to mature will make a difference in how he approaches balancing school and gaming.
Anyway, devious person that I am I may use his desire to go to the video store as leverage to get him to go swimming first. I have a half-selfish reason in taking him: lap swimming can be dull and hard to do with lots of non-lap swimmers in the pool and he needs the exercise so my taking him and us playing underwater games like "torpedo the shark" gets us both moving.
Wishing you all a safe and peaceful weekend,
--Cyn
