It's been work, work, work since we arrived home from Ontario (as the
old axiom goes, I need a vacation now that I've taken my vacation).
So I decided to set aside today--one of few remaining summer break
days left before school starts, to go to the pool and then to see March of the Penguins.
Woke up to severe thunderstorms--forcasted through out the afternoon.
Scratch the pool (for now) and onto loose ends work-wise (nothing major) then still to the movies.
Cheerio!

Later...
We stepped out of the movie theatre late this afternoon after watching March Of The Penguins (which is quite good, btw) and lo and behold the sun was shining brightly.
So straight to the pool it was to play torpedo and shark.
After getting back pretty late from the pool I was throwing some
veggie-type stuff together for dinner when there was a frantic knock at
the front door. There was flooding in the basement, we were informed.
It took spouse about 30 seconds to find the source--our washing machine
was spewing vast quantities of soapy water across the rug in the
(finished) basement and into the common area next to and including the
laundry room.
Spouse, who is fighting some flu-like thing, had to borrow our
neighbour's wet vac and spent a couple hours cleaning up. We think the
washer's dead. ![]()
