Okay, so here is where my heart resides--Huntington Beach, CA.
As they say, I came of age there--grew up to be a full-fledged adult--and had the most amazing time living right at the ocean-- on 2nd St, 11th and 14th streets. The pier shown in these photos is near Main St--then the street number names ascend going north (up, in photo) from there. The closest I lived was two blocks from the ocean. It was truly beautiful and there was and is such an energy to it--I really miss living near the Pacific. I'm happy to visit it though, and see how the town has just exploded with growth. The pier used to be a cool wooden one which I walked frequency, checking out life--fisherman, surfers, tourists, beach babes--all seamlessly co-existing around the pier. Since I moved away, a big storm took the venerable old pier down. They've replaced it with a concrete one--that ought to stay put--but it's far less attractive. :sigh:
I was such a hippie that I walked barefoot the two blocks to the beach. Heh, I'm pretty much still a hippie.
So here are some snaps of the prettiest/coolest place I could wish to "grow up" in.

Not trying to be artsy--just attempting to get as much of "my beach" in the pic as my little camera will allow. Oh yeah, those guys are my family members.

My son wanted a pic of the "green stuff" on the legs of the pier. I believe they are barnacles.
Babes(s) on boards

Wiiiiiipe Out! (Guy standing is same guy as in pic above.)

The "heart" of California Adventure--an adjunct theme park to Disneyland
All the following pics are shot at the animation complex (don't recall the precise name) in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot at California Adventure.
It's deceptive as it doesn't look like much from the outside. In fact, it's one of the most interesting things at California Adventure because it draws on our collective memories of animated film and gives great info and insight into the truly amazing Disney story from where it all began--animation.
